There are cards like Misty Knight, Abomination or Shocker, that I will never play.

Is there a way to level them that doesn't involve just throwing them all in a deck and losing games?

I've lived in the Philippines for a long time (though I'm actually American). Long story short, this means I was able to get into the open beta.

Additions & Changes

General

• Redeployed all our static assets.
  • This was done to make sure that we don't have any old assets cached anywhere.
  • Members may experience slightly longer load times when they first visit pages due to static assets needing to be cached locally, though this is not likely to be disruptive to the end-user experience.

Hearthstone

• Added Death Knight Icons across the site.
• Added March of the Lich King Icons across the site.
• Updated Navigation for new expansion.
• Expansion pages will no longer display classes if no cards have been revealed for that class.
  • The exception to this new rule is if we have "placeholder cards" which we haven't used in a while due to significant bulk early in a reveal season that doesn't add much to the guides themselves.

Bug Fixes

General

• Fixed an issue where some RSS feeds on the site were returning 500 errors.
• Our Discord bot is back up and running and is correctly giving out roles again.

Hearthstone

• Fixed an issue with card reveal notifications not going out on Discord.
  • There was a catch-up period where old notifications went out late. Shouldn't happen again.

Basically, an exceptionally condescending way of saying that we don't want to listen to player feedback because we believe you to be misinformed and inarticulate.

So I'm going to try my best to communicate as if I was writing LOR's design document:

LOR is a card game where you attempt to satisfy unique questing conditions in order to level up (flip) your preffered champions.

These "quests" should guide the player towards certain "archetypes" and deck building decisions in a organic and non intrusive manner.

The implications being that these quests are powerful while also remaining mutually distinct and worth pursuing (this is where the fun is.)

Deck break downs:

Actual constructions of decks are comprised of reactive plays (fast speed spells) pro active plays (burst speed spells) and creatures wrapped up in a compellingly unique turn based pkg.

The Problem:

When decks become too homogenous, when champion level up conditions don't feel game winning, when reactive plays like stuns and bounces out weigh the value of playing high cost followers (5 plus) the game starts to lose that fun factor.

The conclusion:

People including popular streamers start to migrate from your game, you start introducing low impact expansions and nobody plays those cards, you also dangle the threat of rotation so people can't even play the decks they want to play and your game loses popularity.

The solution:

The same thing it's always been heavy handed comprehensive balance patches that nerf what's reducing viability and buff what's not viable. It's unfortunate, but it's the only way you can commit to keeping LOR a compelling and fun experience and get those streamers playing again.

Rather then say write a massive blog post about how your players are inarticulate trolls who can't speak "designer" when it's your own choices and decission making drawing your game and community into question.

Any ideas on how to quickly complete the quest to win a location using a single card?

Up to now it's the most annoying of all and season 4(?) of the event requires 20 such wins.

Not sure if dropping a card and retreating counts, but that's not the way i'd like to do it.

This is an announcement to let everyone know that Out of Cards will be down on Halloween night at 11 PM Eastern. Spooky!

We're doing a major migration to new hardware to help improve site performance and make way for a large site update. This will also give us more room to grow going forward as our previous solution has been at its limits for a while now.

Estimated downtime is less than an hour, but no matter how many tests you do, real-world may take longer.

During our downtime, all services operated on Out of Cards will not be available.

Though I've been playing for years, I decided to start a new account and play as a free-to-play.

Through the years, the community of players have been bashing the developers and complained about a lot of things. "Salty" was a word that repeated itself.

Now, I thought to share the surprisingly positive experience I had as a "new player". 

- The rank 40 matches is genius. So much fin playing "basic and simple" Hearthstone games. 

- The collection you start with is large, includes many legendary cards, and many good ones too.I remembers my experience in past years, and how toiled to craft some of these cards that are now given for free :)

- The auto-complete deck option actually provide you decent decks for the cards you have, with synergies, across classes. 

- The cards you "discover" as you rank up your classes, are actually useful, and the fact you "right of the bat" achieve rewards in the "experience map"  is adding to the fun. 

- Players you play against are actually nice and fun to play against. Win or lose, you don;t feel "salty" because of some toxic over-powered deck that was played.

All and all, a fun experience entering into the game. A difference of night and day comparing to even five or four years ago. 

So with the release of the newest mini set Lor has been kind of a mess.

A lot of the interesting and worth while play patterns that defined the game are increasingly being ironed out for what works.

Turbo strategies, do nothing strategies, general malaise and lack of interest/intrigue

Topped off now with what can only be described as streamer migration.

It began small by Swim and BBG quitting the game but now even Mogwai has left for a competitor.

I have to say that the future of Lor is looking darker then it has for quite some time.

I would say personally that the only real fix is going to be archetype support, hard buffs for freijord, and legitimate reasons to play midrange again.

Beyond that what is it that makes Lor truly appealing when compared to its competitors because I'm starting to forget.
