I'm not the biggest expedition player--I think the format is fine, but personally I only want to play when I can do both trials in one long uninterrupted session so I often end up just playing normal constructed games for daily XP--and lately I've been procrastinating so much that my stock of tokens from the weekly vaults has been starting to accumulate. I was going to try to play catch-up this weekend, but then I thought: what if it would be more advantageous to wait until the release?
The expansion is coming out April 30th, and they've said it will include 120+ new cards. Currently, there are 318 unique collectible cards (6 regions, 53 per). Now granted, they have not identified how exactly rewards will differ after the expansion releases, but even if they just intermix the new cards with the current cards that still implies you'll have a ~25% chance of each card being new. Plus there's the whole season road: if you can apply your XP progression towards that, then doing the full 3 expeditions/week means that you should get a quick burst of progression.
What do you guys think?

In the future, this forum will be mostly populated by threads about specific cards as they're announced. Since we don't have that yet, though, I'd like to propose: which individual card do YOU think the LoR community is most polarized about--i.e., some many vigorously argue its too powerful while many also argue its perfectly balanced and/or undertuned?
I will submit Shadow Assassin. I know there are flashier candidates, but those all tend to be tent-poles that you build your deck around. Riot previously said this card was the most played card in the game, and I believe it--she is probably the single most independently-valuable card in the game. However, every region should have "good" cards, and there will also be a best "good" card. E.g., think of Omen Hawk, who has enough value to earn a spot in most Frejlord decks and yet we'd be pressed to argue he is too powerful. The question is: is Assassin too good or is she just-right good? I've seen convincing arguments on both sides.

I've noticed a trend a long time ago concerning the meta at a given time during the day. This list is by far not extensive (and not backed by data) but I'm looking for input/feedback to fill out the data and related counters to the 'daily-meta'.
Mornings: Mostly control decks
Afternoon (after 15:00): Agro/Tempo
Late afternoon (after 17:00): Control
Evening: Midrange / OTK deck
So for example, yesterday afternoon I was playing Zoo lock and won 12/15 games. I mainly encountered demon hunter/dragon hunter. This morning I played the same deck and encountered mostly Handlocks and GalaRogue. I've been noticing these fluctuations persistently over at least a year. Have you noticed anything similar?
What decks would be the best during specific times of the day to counter the meta at those times?

Here's what happened. I'm playing Tempo Demon Hunter (yes, yes, I'm a real bastard, I know, just wanted to grab up some easy ranks before the second nerfs hit). Drop my Imprisoned Antaen on curve (cuz I like winning). He wakes up and sprays his 10 damage all over the place, then my opponent plays Maiev Shadowsong and puts him back to sleep. Two turns later, he wakes back up and guess what? Ten more damage to my enemy's board and face.
Just wanted to put this out there for anyone who hasn't seen this interaction.
On a related note, I've also seen buffed minions put to sleep by Maiev, and wake up with their buffs intact. Also good to know.

In the interest of not leaving this forum empty, I submit to you my Shadow Ashe control deck. I know I posted this on the General Forums about a month back and that thread didn't get much activity; however I'll post it again here just because I find this deck so cool and NO ONE is playing it. Your Plan A Win Con is just what you would expect: use an Elise spider package with Ashe splashed in to get ahead on board. However if you do get behind, you can The Ruination the entire board away and fall back on your secret weapon: The Harrowing. If you've juiced enough Ashe into your rez pool, you'll get an ephemeral cavalry of 6/4 attackers, each of which will make one of your opponents minions unable to block. So much fun!

I played mostly ranked games and only spent expedition tokens from chests.
I believe the same is achivable by playing around 400h-500h or maybe even less then that by just focusing on quests, first win of the day, weekly chests and expeditions, but gaming less means it will take over a longer period of time to complete (5 months+)
i'll let you know once i get there, but i am planning to slow down a bit from now.
TLDR; Full collection = less then 600h of gameplay.

...for I have sinned. I have given into the temptation and dealt with Demon (Hunters). I could not resist the siren song of Legend and the promise of a free Classic Legendary, so I did the unspeakable and steamrolled from Diamond 5 to Legend with only 20 wins.
Appropriately I was rewarded with King Mukla like the disgusting Ape I am. BUt alas, I am free from the pressure of ever having to reach Legend again and can now focus on what is truly important in life....pretending like I actually know how to build decks and then claim I found a new way to game the meta.
So anyways, how's your climb going? I got really lucky I guess, because I only ran into a single Galakrond Warlock and only two Priests (one of which I even beat....barely). Tempo DH is pretty disgusting and I honestly can't see the staying this way forever. At some point Battlefiend will have to be nerfed, it's ridiculous how hard that thing takes games from turn 1. It's like Pirate Warrior all over again.

Rez Priest, swapping cards in and out occasionally, work like a charm. 71% from Diamond 9, finishing with an 11 win streak (including dumpster legend, >10k).
FWIW, I love Soul Mirror. Probably superfluous in a deck with 2XPlague of Death, but there are those rare times you can copy something super useful, e.g. the time I copied a Archmage Vargoth after my own went down to Hex. Shenanigans!

Hey everyone. Today I opened my 55 packs on the Asia server, and I only got 2 Legendaries, including the one you get for free. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I should've gotten a minimum of 3 right (free one, first 10 packs, 40 pack pity timer). Anyone else having this problem?
Also, I'm also getting duplicate Rares even though I don't have a full Rare collection yet (I DE'd the DH ones for full dust, but I don't get them in new packs even though I have all other rares).

Win Condition: The direction of the I think is chip damage from created minions and finished with burn spells.
Tried my hand at spit balling a deck:
The payoff cards for an all mage deck, so these are Auto-Includes:
Font of Power, Incanter's Flow, Apexis Blast
Now the burn cards:
Frostbolt, Fireball, Pyroblast
Next are the AOEs and Survival Cards:
Ray of Frost, Flame Ward, Frost Nova, Ice Barrier, Blizzard, Deep Freeze, and finally the panic button in The Amazing Reno
Then I rounded out with some utility cards.
Evocation - great for swing turns. Can also be used find the remaining burn for reach.
Learn Draconic - not completely sold on this. But with an all spell deck, this is easily a 1 mana 6/6.
Magic Trick - Good for fishing for situational cards not in your deck
Ancient Mysteries - Not great, but figured more draw is good
Arcane Intellect - Draw
