So this expansion doesn't have a theme song? And, brode isn't here to rap one for us so what's gonna happen? Are we just going to have to make our song this time around?

I'm pretty sure this has been discussed before in other forums, so sorry for creating a new thread for this.

But man. This guy is driving me crazy.

There were times when you could distinguish between decks that are likely to run Leeroy Jenkins and decks that are not.

But tuday, LITERALLY every deck I face plays him, no metter what the deck type is. It is just a universal 6 damage face finisher for 5, which is good in everything. So sick and tired of the entry sound as well after playing this game for 6ish (?) years now.

It should definitely go to HoF with this year's rotation in April.

What do you think?

I know this will be a moot point in a few hours, but it's driving me crazy. A lot of people are misinterpreting the text or are just puzzled by it, when it seems pretty clear to me.

"Once you've cast a 6+ cost spell this game" is a binary condition. Either it has happened, or it has not. It doesn't have to happen while the Mageseeker card is in play. Once the condition is met, it affects all Mageseekers in your deck or in play for the rest of the game, but only once. The effect does not repeat if you cost more big spells.

If you cast a 6-cost spell on turn three, every Mageseeker/Voltician you ever summon will come into play with the kicker activated.

If you play a Mageseeker/Voltician before casting a big spell, it doesn't get the kicker until you do. Obviously, if the unit is killed before you can activate the kicker, it doesn't matter for that particular instance of the unit.

In summary, casting the big spell only needs to happen once, at any time during the game, but casting more spells does not reactivate the effect.

It looks like Demon Hunters are going to be synergizing with cards that gain power or trigger effects based on whether or not they have attacked this turn, which plays well into their Hero Power design. With it only requiring 1 mana, we'll likely be making frequent use out of attacking with our hero.

Are both cards for Demon Hunter that appear in their Basic set and highlight the hero attack mechanic. We've also got two other basic cards that buff your Attack.

I for one am excited to see hero attacks coming to a class as a core mechanic. It also looks like they've got weapons (Flamereaper) which is awesome to see. It would have been a crime to put in Demon Hunters without weapons.

What do y'all think about this being a core class mechanic?

The Article not only states that the new Expansion is ashes of outlands but that we are also getting a new class the DEMON HUNTER!. Priest basic set is also going to get a rework and the PvE will be free again! I think it's entirely possible that this leak is real, so LOOK FOR YOURSELF!

So I recently started playing with this deck a bit the last week or so (which is about how new this deck is as well) and not only is it STUPID easy to pilot but it will also help you ladder FAST! Not sure if anyone here has had a chance to play it yet? If not, here's a video on the decklist and some games: Zombie Garen Deck Guide.

My question is, do you think this deck will actually last as a #1 mid-range option or is this just a result of the current meta BEFORE the patch changes that were just announced today? I just feel like this deck is too simple and too one-sided as far as strategy is concerned to see any true longevity in competitiveness. What's everyone think!?

You create Baku now (-1600 Dust)

When the card go to Hall of Fame you get free 1600 dust + you have the card and you can convert the card to dust (400?)?

Then;

So I had a thought earlier. If nothing but The Undying is played and killed repeatedly and then The Harrowing is played does it fill your board with  The Undyings or does it just summon one undying?

Hey guys!  I've been having a lot of fun on ladder with this deck, and I thought I would share it because one of the key cards, The Rekindler, is ~80% likely to get nerfed tomorrow.  (Side note: if you're missing cards, wait until after the patch notes before crafting any of the expensive stuff!)  The basic core is the same Champion -> Rekindler -> The Harrowing stuff you've probably seen a million times with Hecarim.  Here's where things get fun, though: we do it with Ashe.  If you've played her, you know how frustrating it is to keep her alive...well, we're totally OK if she dies!  The goal is to get at least 3 in the res pool with and at least 2 points of progression, then on our attack turn we play The Harrowing and attack all-in: the legion of Ashe will frostbite most of their board, level up, AND prevent any frostbitten units from blocking!  But the catch is: you need enough board space for the summoning, so you actually need things to die off first--I actually lost games this evening because I didn't block "bad enough" the turn and had some 3/3 spiders instead of bigger units.

Anyways, its a lot of fun, it's very off-meta, and I think most opponents have no idea what you're doing so you can surprise them.  If you have the cards (or don't mind spending a few wild cards), definitely give it a spin before the Tuesday patch.

I wonder what are those. My guess will be that these are kinda the thing used by Mowgai or Swim that makes you look the hp that the enemy will lose after the combat phase or to see the hole splash art of the cards.

Also, anyone here use any of those?

Has anyone tried making a deck with Questing Explorer, Licensed Adventurer and Sky Gen'ral Kragg and activating those cards via sidequests instead of main quests?

For Druid, the main quest more or less builds the deck for you, so I thought that would be an interesting class to try this on. This was the result: (click it for the guide with more details)

Did anyone else try using sidequests like this? And if so, what were the results?

What do you all think Riot will do to her in the next patch, since they mentioned her by name?

Right now her problems are: She's too reliant upon her bonded, she's a fearsome 3 drop when other 3 power cards are coming out, she can't be played alone (wants a bonded unit), her bonded can be recalled thereby making her the only champion that can be 'purified' denying her her full abilities alongside being very frail.

By most games I have used her in, almost never use her turn 3 unless there's a really good unit to play her on making her actually be a turn 4-5 unit.

The bonded issue could be solved by her wording changed to "I bond with the strongest unit. Bonded is granted +2/+0". Or making it so the bond persists even if the unit is recalled (pulling it from your hand in case of the level up).

As for the rest maybe a rule change on fearsome?

Fearsome could be changed from "Can't be blocked by a unit 2 power or less" to "Can't be blocked by a unit less than or equal to it's power."

Gives them a new thing to play around with and makes cards like Tryndamere, Legion General, Cithria the Bold, and Trifarion Shieldbreaker more interesting to play as well.

What do you all think? I enjoy reading these forums and they have been helping my own gameplay.

i just had a situation where smart ordering of spells would have granted me lethal with Lux' Final Sparks, but the expected behaviour did not occur, leaving me quite frustrated, since i cannot rely on simple logic to solve complex game states in order to win games.

This was the scenario:

Opponent: attacks with 4 (barriered) units and plays judgement against my blockers. He is at 4 health and 0 mana. After blocking, i would survive his attack. 2 of his barriered units had 2 health (so 2 sparks could kill his Nexus if done correctly).

Me: Lux on board, at 4/6. Spells in hand: Single Combat (2), Deny (4) and Twin Disc (3). I have enough mana to play them all.

So my idea for lethal was the following:

- one of his barriered 2-health units is blocked and will survive the attack

- the other barriered 2-health unit is unblocked and will survive the attack as well

- cast Single Combat on one of his barriered units, this will make my Lux progress go to 6/6, giving me the first Final Spark

- cast Deny against his Judgement, this will then bring my Lux progress from 0/6 to 4/6

- cast Twin Disc on some shit to make my Lux progress go to 6/6 again, giving me the second Final Spark

- after the attack, cast both Final Sparks in his 2-health units for lethal (4 health Nexus)

The Spell Stack (from left to right) looked the following:

1. my Single Combat (played AFTER Deny)

2. my Deny against Judgement (played BEFORE Single Combat)

3. his Judgement, being denied

So in theory, the order of spell execution should be correct, right?

- Single Combat is executed first, updating my Lux's progress to 6/6 and giving me a Final Spark.

- Then Deny is executed, updating the progress from 0/6 to 4/6

But what actually happened was that my Lux's progress somehow was at 0/6 after both spells were executed, not at 4/6 as expected.

Is this a bug? Or is there some behaviour that i missed or dont know?

Seems like potential for the cancellation of the Hearthstone stream. Don't get me wrong, precautions for the virus are completely justified. But it would be quite disappointing even so, especially after the constant 'announcements of announcements' and lack of actual information given out up until this point.

I'm new to LoR, but I found it really confusing for the interaction of skills and fast spells. I think, intuitively, if the fast spell kills the unit with the skill, the skill shouldn't trigger. Obviously that's not true in LoR. Once in Expedition game 7, I held on to a Vengeance hoping to surprise kill opponent's Vladimir when he attacks with his Crimson crew. However, even though he was killed that way, his skill still triggered which killed me exactly to 0 health. This interaction makes skill simply a fast spell attached to a unit but somehow can still trigger after the unit is dead.

Anyone else wish they can change the interaction to be: "skills won't trigger if the unit is dead before the skill is cast" ?

I'm playing the same frostbite decks 80% of the time and its not fun without having any variety of what i'm playing against. 

Hey, folks! In this thread, I want to present the idea for a new keyword:

Basically, it's the exact opposite of Taunt. If your opponent has a minion with cower, and another without, you MUST attack the one without first. And before anyone asks:

• If you have a minion with both Taunt and Cower, they cancel each other out, so it's like not having either. 
• Yes, this was inspired by Mythgard's Lurker.

The best kind of cards you want with this keyword are those with triggered or end/start of turn effects. Here's a few cards I made:

Poor Wilfred. Ever since he accidentally summoned an EREDAR LORD OF THE BURNING LEGION and barely surviving with his life, he's never been the same. Sure's he's still summoning Demons, but he's limiting himself so small, easy to control ones.

I wanted to create a hero with the keyword, but the effect itself isn't worth much IMHO, but a cheap hero like that would pretty much kill Aggro, and I don't want that. So I gave him the board swarm in the battlecry.

Best part? He actually has crazy synergy with [Hearthstone Card (Lord Jarraxus) Not Found]. Yeah, remember him? Probably not, since Bloodreaver Gul'dan replaced him entirely, and when him rotated, Zephrys the Great came along. Granted, Fizzleband doesn't solve the latter problem, but if you play Lord J after him, your Hero Power (yes, I know I forgot to write it on mine) basically creates a 6/6 pseudo-Taunt.

I'm been messing around with a weird Even Highlander Mage deck recently, and it got me thinking. How good could some of the other Odd/Even decks be?

Obviously certain decks have seen play (Odd Warrior, Odd Mage etc), and certain decks still pop up in Wild fairly often (Odd Paladin, Even Shaman)

I played a bit in the deckbuilding challenge on the old site, and thought I'd see if there was much interest here for a more constrained challenge. Build an Odd or Even deck for each class, and see if you can pick up a win with it on the ladder. In the interest of getting people involved, I'll ask if you could limit completions to one every 8 hours (per person), so everyone can have a chance to get involved. If there is interest in this, maybe we could move to a more open, winner sets the challenge deck building thread.

As you know they released the teaser image and in it, we see Medivh, Lunara, and Morgl turned into stone, but there's someone behind Morgl's hand. I would assume Tyrande or Maiev since they're both the only free heroes not there. But unfortunately, this is ruled out when we see the figure doesn't appear to have elven ears. They are wearing a robe though and they're tall so that once again narrows down our suspects. And so finally our suspect list comes to ... Khadgar!

No elf ears rules out Tyrande, Maiev, Elise, Liandrian, Sylvanas, and Aleria. Tall human shape rules out Sir annoy-o, Nemsy, and Magni plus Morgl is already stone in the front. Robe rules out Arthas, Mecha J, Rastakhan, Lei Shen, and maybe Lazul, but she is covered in the normal ear category.

So finally by my hypothesis, Khadgar is also there just behind Morgl's hand unless I'm wrong in which case OH WELL! If I missed anything let me know

There's always a pack opening thread right after new expansion for people to gloat/complain/commiserate, so I was curious if anyone else who's as data-driven as I am bothers to track their progress over the course of an expansion? Usually about a month out from the new expansion I stop buying packs at a "final" legendary and start hoarding gold for the next one, and I got that final Legendary today (Bandersmosh btw...cool...) so since I'm done getting DoD packs I thought I'd dump my stats here and if anyone else wants to chime in, get on in here:

233 DoD Packs opened 

11 Legendaries - so Avg. 1 per 21.4 packs. Shortest time between pulls was 4 packs (which was NOT the one from your first 10 - that one came at pack 9...), longest was 37. 1 was Golden.

58 Epics - so Avg. 1 per 4.0 packs. Only 2 were Golden.

133 "40 Dust-er" packs - so 57.1% of all packs were the bare minimum.

Overall I'm fairly pleased with this expansion. I seemed to be right around the generally-believed "averages" on openings. Only dark spots were 1) that most of the Legendaries I got were ones I haven't found good use for (yet?), so most of the Dust generated this expansion went to crafting the good Legendaries. 2) I know the "end Epic duplicates" has been discussed to death, but despite my getting 58 Epics - which could have given 2 copies each of every single Epic (54 card) and I'd still have 4 "extras" - I'm still missing 13 Epic copies (and that's also after crafting a handful). So it's kind of crazy to see in stark terms that ~30% of the Epics I opened were duplicates.

The new monthly Eternal league starts on March 1 and you get a cool new card back for joining.

A new Sealed League begins on March 1st, 2020 for Chapter 40: Aftershock

Everyone who participates in the Sealed League will unlock the new premium Aftershock card back!

Sealed League

When you join the Sealed League, you’ll get eight packs to build your starting deck:

• 8x Echoes of Eternity

Each week of the Sealed League, you’ll get new packs to add to your pool, for a total of 14 packs to play with!

• Week 2: 2x The Flame of Xulta
• Week 3: 1x The Empty Throne, 1x Echoes of Eternity
• Week 4: 1x Omens of the Past, 1x Echoes of Eternity

Minimum rewards for playing include:

• 4 x Echoes of Eternity
• 1 x premium Uncommon card
• 1 x new premium card back upon entering the League

All packs awarded from the Sealed League will be packs of Echoes of Eternity. The cost to participate in Sealed League is 12,500 Gold or 1,100 Gems.

So all players who enter will end up with at least 18 packs from the League (14 from play, and 4 from rewards).

The League for Chapter 40: Aftershock begins on March 1, 2020 and will run through March 31.

Katarina is one of my favorite champions and I have been experimenting with her, even in most ridiculous situations (Teemo/Katarina :D)

Some of you guys might not know the Ephemeral interaction of Katarina so I wanted to share it here.

When you give Katarina, Mark of the Isles she won't die after she attacks and levels-up and comes back to your hand. Same with Oblivious Islander and Stirred Spirits.




So;
- You can use Oblivious Islander to reduce her cost to (2) for early upgrade posibility.
- You can use Stirred Spirits to make her more threatining with +2 Attack.
- You can use Mark of the Isles against frostbites or Removals (not against Vengeance) to save Katarina on your attack turn so she will be leveled-up. Works on your defend phase as well if she wouldn't die with the damage.
- One of the best is; You can use Shark Chariot with ephemeral Katarina to spawn Shark Chariots whenever you Rally !

I don't think you still don't know about Whirling Death/Single Combat - Katarina interactions but for new players and players who doesn't know these interactions yet, you can level-up Katarina with those combat tricks as well.
