This season is one of my favorite seasons. Prediction Season. Just 10 or less cards are revealed and others are waiting us to speculate, so I'm starting it.

Firstly Plagues;

They've said all of the Villain classes will have Plague cards as board clears. Priest's one is revealed, Plague of Death

My personal sentiment about plagues are that They will be refferances of real 10 Plagues of Egypt;

For shaman;     Plague of Frogs or Plague of Thunder and Hail

For Warlock;     Plague of Blood

For Rogue;       Plague of Darkness

For Warrior;      Plague of Disease

Well, I can only predict names tho. I couldn't really imagine what will they do mechanically.

Second Heroes and Villains;

We all saw this expansion will be around our beloved LoE Heroes; Brann, Elise, Reno and Finley

Elise and Brann's classes are obvious;

Elise will be Druid and Brann will be Hunter but Finley and Reno ?

Finley fits in Paladin mechanically and Reno fits in Mage mechanically but I don't think they will do this mechanically,

There are some rumors about Reno being bronze dragon and I also support this rumors.

I am seeing this like Reno Jackson being Paladin card and Finley being Mage card.

In the cinematic of the expansion, Reno uses a crystallic weapon and crystals are Paladin's science area in Boomsday, Also we know Dranei Paladins uses Gem Mauls. Also Reno Jackson casts a spell in the cinematic which blows in Yellow Light like Holy Light.

If we come to the Finley, I can only speculate it like "Murlocs are mostly shamans and Shamans uses Elements, Mages also uses elements and Finley is an intelligent Murloc ( he can even speak in common language) so maybe This intelligent murloc could use magic."

Also I remember a quote from Brann Bronzebeard. He was claimed that murlocs can be more intelligent then people thought. I don't think the leader of the Explorer's League will be mistaken.

I want to add Harrison Jones here too. He is a student to Brann Bronzebeard and Uldum is his quest area iirc. So I think we will see a neutral Harrison Jones in this expansion.

If I would speak about Villains, I need to speak about themes also.

Peter Whaleen said that we could see same characters in next expansions, so I guess we will see all of the Villains in the expansion as Legendary cards.

Mostly Rafaam, because sands are his territory.

Themes of Villain classes will change in this expansion imo. Mostly Dr.Boom's theme.

I think Warrior will have mummy theme instead of science/boom/mech theme. We will see less Dr. Boom in this expansion because his territory is cities, labarotories etc. Leader of Villains need Boom because of his rockets.

Same with Rogue, E.V.I.L. needed Togwaggle's spying, burgling for stealing Dalaran. Now rouges will have a different theme. It will be deathrattle-ish imo but well I may be wrong.

These 2 classes are like lesser evils. Maybe Shaman could be lesser evil too but a bit more than other two. At least E.V.I.L. still needs her because of her conjuring talents. Some Shamans ended up being Warlocks after all. Shaman's theme will be elements and totems instead of murlocs in this expansion imo.

If we come to the Priest, Lazul is a servant of old gods. I only can think about Infinite Dragonflight here. We saw Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron as a callback of old gods. Maybe we can see other artifacts which belongs to old gods thematically but I'm hoping for Dragons. :) Theme of priest will continue to be shadow-y and old god-ish, imo.

Warlock's theme might change too because Rafaam is trying to locate Dalaran in his territory. He is supreme archeologist in first look. His Quest card is archeology related. We will see Tol'virs and sand related stuff in Warlock instead of demons in this expansion imo.

I would claimed that this expansion's callbacks will be Un'goro, Old Gods and LoE before the reveal. It became true mostly.

We will have quests from Un'goro, Heroes from LoE, but Old Gods ? We only saw an artifact related Yogg-Saron, Hope's End and that's a thing at least. It is also a callback mechanically. I've thought that maybe we can see Infinite Dragons because it is Uldum. It seems it won't be the fact but;

I think there is a fact about Blackrock. In the next Event, We will fight against Nefarian and Ragnaros the Firelord as Villains as the result of the Mountain Crash and this is the Year of the Dragon. They've said that all of the year is in same theme.

I am speculating that We will see neutral dragons in this expansion. Dragons from Blackrock. There is a big MAYBE here. I can't be so sure about it. It is just a speculation.It could be just an event tho.

and thirdly Quests,

I will make very detailed predictions here because quests are one of my favorite mechanics in Hearthstone. but details for cards, not themes.

We saw a Passive hero power which excites me most. I love the idea of Passive hero powers. So my predictions;

Priest Quest: " play 7 cards from your opponents deck, reward: 'hero power name', Passive hero power; Your healing effects damages instead"

Warrior Quest "kill 15 minions in your turns, Reward: 'hero power name', Hero Power: Deal 1 damage to a minion and give it 2 attack"

Rogue Quest "Trigger 8 deathrattles of your cards, Reward: 'hero power name', Hero Power: Trigger a friendly deathrattle"

Shaman Quest "Overload 10 mana crystals, Reward: 'hero power name', Hero Power: Deal damage equal to your overloaded mana crystals, or, Unlock your overloaded mana crystals." (revealed - Corrupt the Waters )

Paladin Quest: " Lose 10 Divine shields on your minions Reward: 'hero power name' Hero Power: Give a friendly minion Divine Shield"

Mage Quest: " Play 10 different spells, Reward: 'hero power name', Passive Hero Power: Spell Damage +3"

Hunter Quest: " Play 10 battlecry minions, Reward: 'hero Power name' Passive Hero Power: Your beasts have rush"

and Lastly Other Stuff;

We will see at least 1 lackey according to blizzard; It might be like "Battlecry: Discover a 2-cost minion."

Like I said above, I am expecting to see Harrison Jones again,

Like Plagues, All of the LoE Hero Classes might have an artifact about Old Gods, Mage got Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron

it could be like C'Thun artifact for Druid, N'Zoth, the Corruptor artifact for Hunter and Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound artifact for Paladin. Because there are 4 hero classes and 4 Old Gods.
(If my Artifacts of Old Gods speculation became true, My prediction about Hunter's quest will be meaningless, so Hunter's quest could be around deathrattles instead.)

We might see Glibb as a token of Brann Bronzebeard legendary card, it is the Gorilla Companion of Brann Bronzebeard like Misha of Rexxar

Druid's theme will be around damaging spells, starfalls etc. Not around minions this time imo.



Well, it is like that for now. If I find anything to speculate I will add here. Let me know your predictions and expectations too.

This being looked into or can we put it on the cards so to speak XD

I am coming from Hpwn (like 90% of the people here) is there some way you could put the star ratings of cards in the threads somehow? I am used to rate the cards there.. I think that way we will actually get community ratings from cards.

I really like it's a 5 star ratings it has much more meaning.. also that it uses 3 formats it's a much better system than the hpwn old format.

I got a problem though with the star rating it's quite a silly one actually, which way is rating them higher? do you count them from the left to right or right to left? as I normally write from right to left it actually confuses me and I think it might be confusing to other people for the same reason or maybe others (how it is btw? left to right or right to left?).

Since you will probably would want to do a compedium at the end having the cards rated badly because of interface or not rated at all cause it's not as visible is a bummer..

Summoning Portal now does not reduce cards below 1 mana when discounted by Thaurassan (it has for well over a year or more). Now it just reduces discounted cards to 1 mana if they were already at 1 mana.

Unless I'm mistaken I did not see any patch notes for this anywhere.

I forgot my password and now I want to log in on another device, but when I opt for “forgot my password” and put in my email, the link sent to me always says “The password reset link was invalid, possibly because it has already been used. Since the last update on Android I'm having an issue where if I leave the game for a second and go back it bring me back to the main menu.  I'm trying to copy a deck code and the option to copy still comes up but I'm at the main menu so it won't actually copy it.  Anyone else having the same issue?  I haven't tried on my Kindle yet so I'm not sure if it's only on Android or not.

I have all the cards for aggro shaman except 2 x Thunderhead, and I'd be interested to know if you think it's worth crafting for the deck. I realise the deck isn't super competitive atm (vulnerable to warrior, etc.), but it looks like a whole lotta fun. I have other aggro decks  but shaman looks a bit different, with its insane burst and draw. However, I'm conscious that it's nearing the next expansion and I should perhaps be saving my dust for that.

So, in your opinion, is the deck fun enough to justify the extravagance of crafting the two epics?

Maybe should have put this in the salt thread, because I am definitely pretty salty right now ... but maybe their is some room for discussion here. 

IMHO, Something needs to be done about the Giant / Kadgar / CC combo. Crazy, over-the-top combo's in Tier 3 decks are one thing. They are another when they are Tier 1, and shaping a big part of the meta. 

If they get the nut draw, it's pretty much game over on Turn 5-6 if you can't deal with an 8/8 on Turn 4. Once you are staring down four 8/8's or 7/8 taunts, the options are pretty limited. 

And even without the nuts, you are facing death anytime you can't remove a giant. And even THEN, they can play the entire combo from hand at some point. 

I know there has been talk of HoF'ing giants, but I am kinda against that. Just bump the cost of CC to 5. The combo potential is still there, but it at least pushes it back a couple turns. 

Thoughts? 

Note: this article mainly concerns newer, and especially free to play players, so if you're more experienced at the game or don't mind spending a quick buck, then you can ignore this post. However, I am sure most people have made this mistake at least once.

During the Knights of the Frozen Throne expansion, my legendary from the first bunch of packs was Hadronox. I took a look at it, thought about it for a good few seconds, and immediately dusted it for a few rares. Then, less than a month later, Taunt Druid becomes a tier one deck, and I have almost all the cards necessary except for one: Hadronox, the core component that makes the deck work. Me being a budget F2P at the time, I couldn't manage to scrounge up enough dust in time to re-craft him.

Another, more recent example, during the Boomsday expansion, my buddy got Dr. Boom, Mad Genius as his free legendary. He tried in vain to make Mech Warrior work throughout Boomsday and Rastakhan's Rumble, but couldn't do it. He eventually gave up and dusted him (he hated playing Odd Warrior). And what do you know, a few expansion later, in the Rise of Shadows, Warrior has two tier 1 decks, both of which include Dr. Boom, Mad Genius. Granted, you don't need him to make the deck work, but it's just such a powerful card that you're really shooting yourself in the foot of you don't use it.

The moral of the story is: don't just dust cards willy-nilly. Suppose you opened Harrison Jones, but you REALLY need that 400 dust to make a second Academic Espionage for your Tess Rogue deck. But soon, you may regret that decision, not just because of the card you crafted, but because you don't have that legendary anymore. What if there's a new weapon-oriented deck like Kingsbane Rogue taking over the meta? You now no longer have an effective way of dealing with that deck. Many classic legendaries will constantly find their way into the meta no matter what, simply because most of them are either tech cards (e.g. Harrison Jones) or they're just good enough to put into the deck (e.g.Edwin VanCleef). And they never rotate, so they will likely find a place in some deck eventually. For a similar reason, it's good to hold onto some underwhelming expansion legendaries as well. It's often the case that Blizzard will print a legendary card one expansion, then print cards to support it in a  future one (e.g. Tess Greymane and Academic Espionage), or eventually someone will figure out a deck using that legendary that happens to be very strong (e.g. Kangor's Endless Army and Mech paladin).

The worst feeling for a F2P player is being unable to make a deck because you're just missing one legendary, but you opened it before and dusted it. So I think that if you open a legendary in your pack, you should hold on to it at least for a while. Now, there are exceptions: you could just open a bad legendary like Tyrantus or Harbinger Celestia, or you could get a card for a deck that you know for sure that you won't play (I never play Priest, so I dusted my Raza the Chained and didn't regret it, even when Razakus Priest was stupidly overpowered). Worst case scenario, it's 400 dust in card form, but by dusting it you lose the ability to potentially make a deck. Think of it like having government bonds, but in the form of cards. If you don't need the dust right now, then don't dust it. The disenchant value of cards don't go down over time, so you won't lose anything for the time being. 

Sorry if this has already been posted before, but I've had to suffer quite a bit because of this, so I'd rather other people learn from this mistake. Hopefully this helps someone.

During the Dalaran reveal Blizz said that they will add new lackeys with the new expansions.
If I remember correctly, they said there will be 1 new lackey for each expansion, at least for this year, but who knows?

What do you guys think, what will be the effect of the new lackey?

All lackeys are 1/1s, this lackey will probably be a 1/1 too.
Reborn is the new keyword for the expansion, so a 1/1 with reborn is the most obvious option, but that is kinda boring. We already had Possessed Villager and now Mecharoo. 
Maybe we will get another bad guy who joins the League of E.V.I.L. and the new lackey will resemble his/her effect, but I doubt that.

This is where we post our cards!

Well, I just played a game against spell hunter. If I recall correctly, if you used Dire Frenzy twice on the same beast - e.g. on a Vicious Scalehide - It would give you a 7-9 Vicious Scalehide on board and six 4-6 Vicious Scalehide in your deck, right? That is, while you buff the card on board twice, copies are only shuffled into the deck with the buff applied once. This is due to the card text stating "Shuffle three copies into the deck ..." (which implies no buff) "... with +3/+3".

In that game, Zul'jin casted multiple frenzies on the same scalehide, and the hunter then played a 13-15 scalehide, meaning that all the buffs were applied to this copy in the deck. This interaction is new, right? At least, I do not remember it working that way. And it would break spell hunter completely if you ask me.

We've been hard at work on a few things over the past week behind the scenes so not many user-facing things have changed. More stuff will be visible once we get into card reveal season =) I did want to keep everyone up to date though on what is going on with the site.

New Features

• Decks can now be filtered by dust cost! A great way to find budget options is to put 0 in the first box and 1600 (or less) in the second.
• Decks can now be filtered by the cards that they contain.
• Logged in users can now see how they have voted across the site and get real-time feedback on their votes.
• Mobiles users can now access rating polls and related decks on card pages.
• You can now see card ratings on the card pages. This is not finished being styled, but it was important to show the details.

Changes

• Pro deck listing on the homepage will now always display 5 decks, regardless of deck age.
• Card pages will now always display 5 hot decks, regardless of deck age.

Bug Fixes

• Pages should no longer server error on certain comments. Sorry this took a while to get resolved.
• Fixed an issue with padding on paragraphs on the site.
• Fixed mobile issues with comments.
• Fixed an issue where the site would not display your newly created comments until a page refresh.
• Fixed issues where the displayed vote score was incorrect or inconsistent with the real data.
• Hearthstone classes no longer appear out of alphabetical order across the site.
• The calculation for how hot a deck is has been adjusted to fix incorrect weighting of decks with no votes.
• Site supporter borders no longer look wonky in comments.

Also, it's worth mentioning that Blizzard announced Tavern Brawls are now going to last all week, so we're going to find a better way to display pro decks on the homepage - we can't have brawls taking it over all the time.

An interesting side note in the new update notes:

"Downtime for Tavern Brawls has been reduced to 1 hour per week. Tavern Brawls will now begin every week on Wednesday at 9:00 AM PDT and end the following Wednesday at 8:00 AM PDT  (times and dates will vary by region)"

I'm quite excited for this change. I wonder what you all think?

I know we can delete our personal posts whenever we want but can we have access to delete threads we opened? If we can't for security purposes, it's alright. The reason why I wanted is that I should delete some of my threads I opened (mostly bugs/feature threads that are resolved) to reduce the overload of this site. Heck, we should have a stick thread for this to feel OoC fresh. Also, if a thread isn't visited/commented for a year, it should be deleted automatically. I know my idea might be against some rules but in the long run, more threads/decks mean more power for server and more slowdown.

I don't want to sound annoyed or smth. But there was a patch today (correct me if I'm wrong) which brought some card art updates and dalaran heist stuff. Have I missed the post or something went wrong? 

1. right click on Notepad - select Run as Administrator
2. answer "yes" to the pop-up about allowing changes - blah blah bla
3. open the file C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts (you'll have to change the file-type drop-down to "all" instead of txt files since hosts doesn't have an exention)
4. go to the bottom and paste the next line into it
5. 40.84.40.16 client.arenagame-a.east.magic-the-gathering-arena.com
6. save and close
7. Start MTG arena

Tried it out and it is quite fun, and it has lots of potential.

But it gets stuck once I finish the tutorial (and the easy-mode solo).
