I'm contemplating writing an in-depth guide for the deck I've been picking up Legend with in Wild for the past few seasons (Mecha'thun Warlock). The decklist wouldn't be anything particularly new - the point would just be to give a full explanation of the mechanics involved and the strategies required of the main matchups in the Wild metagame. It would, however, be extensive - meaning I don't really want to bother if nobody will read or care!

So - would anyone be interested in seeing a full deck guide of this nature?

Well, the game certainly is not rigged ... simply just a bad day or loosing streak - it happens - usualy if i lose 3 times in a row i take a break. Pick a strong deck you like and stick with it because this way it is way easier to learn the meta and know what to play when and think about the plays the opponent could make the next turn etc. 

I personaly can't speak for the wild meta because i only play standard but like i said it usualy helps if you want to climb up - stick with one deck. If you play consistantly and take a break now and then rank 5 should be no problem. 

Maybe take a look at the top wild decks on this site or check HS Replay to find the right deck for you/your playstyle :)

 Just another wacky idea to make a relatively bad card work.. Haven't checked if this has been done yet either. 

Combo would be Necromechanic+Nine Lives+Play Dead on Oblivitron  with 4 clockwork automaton in hand..

This means you gotta shuffle at least 3 automatons in deck and draw 4 (easy with Ursatron and maybe Witchwood Piper)

A tick of thaurissan would allow 2 play deads but thats even riskier

Is there a location on the site to access all of the Uldum solo adventure chapter guides without going through the archives/news links? Im looking at the top drop down menu and see Guides, but dont see anything about solo adventures. The guides for 3-5 displaying all the hero powers and cards is great. Now I have to sift through and look for 1 and 2.

It's a Tempo/Burn kind of hybrid.

I can do fairly well against most meta decks, even top tiers, but I have problems with Reno decks.

It is possible I am just a bad player, and I am fairly bad at managing resources, but I doubt I can hold too much against lategame value.

My first solution was using Deathstalker Rexxar, but I found the card being quite marginal, and even against Reno, quite unreliable. Now, in my climb back to r5, I am seeing more Reno decks (together with a plethora of Mages).

So I was considering, should I craft The Darkness? How does the card perform in the meta?

I know it is historically, seen as a meme, but has anybody actually tried recently?

It wasted huge Tempo, but it also negates 20-29 healing from Reno Jackson, thus counting as Burn, in that context.

On paper, it could also be useful against cycle decks, such as Warlock (Paladin and Mage too, but their burn is the main problem there).

What do you think? Can you see better solutions, while staying in the same deck archetype (Even Hunter)?

Any suggestions of rogue decks that may be viable in Standard? Tempo Rogue is more or less the same as always, and I lack the Quest and Tess (and I'm NOT going to craft any card that generates random shit). I have been testing several Pogo Rogue combinations but with little success; next thing will be a deck with Questing Adventurer + Lackeys, it could be fun. Any other ideas? I have seen some interesting Deathrattle decks on stream, but I lack most of the legendaries needed.

If a deck was at some point featured in a front page article, would it be possible to add some kind of backlink to that deck in the detailed view of a deck? That would be very helpful to not miss ongoing discussions about that deck. 

So at this point into the expansion it has become very obvious that the Druid Quest is an incredibly powerful card that saved Druid from having to play AFK Token Druid for another expansion. Personally, I really like the playstyle of the Quest. It feels a lot like old ramp Druid except you don't just stall until you OTK your opponent out of nowhere but rather you play proactively to push them off the baord through value. It perfectly displays the strengths and weaknesses of Druid: Slow early game and limited removal mechanics, but a ramping threat that can quickly come back if they manage to get to the powerspike.

That being said I feel like they made it almost...too good. Not in a "we must nerf this" way, but in a "alright, guess we're doing this for the entire next year"

If you look at the most common decklists you will soon find out that a large part of the deck is made up of very essential cards that aren't really part of any wincondition, but rather just the Quest engine itself. Almost all of these are from the Year of the Dragon (with the exception of Wardruid Loti and Ferocious Howl). The only other card rotating next year is Flobbidinous Floop who is part of the Chef Nomi train, which in itself is just your standard win condition package and will probably replaced with whatever else we're getting in the coming expansion.

Basically this is ominously reminiscent of last year's Druid fiesta, where you had 25 set cards and 5 others that made up your win condition. Essentially I fear we might fall back into a pattern of "every Druid deck is the same and every other Druid strategy is rendered useless because it can't make use of the Quest engine"

I mean just think of it. Even with more support, why would you ever play Heal Druid when you can achieve a much better lategame strategy just by running the Quest? And obviously you can't run both a Heal package and the Quest because the Heal package demands much more card slots than the Quest engine allows.

This problem would technically apply to most other Quest decks, except their rewards are more specialized which leads to more deckbuilding variety, even if the overall gameplan is the same (take Quest Rogue and regular Tempo Rogue for instance). Druid's reward is basically just "a bunch of cards get really good in practically any situation".

At the end of the there's not really much that can be done about it anyways. Quest Druid is just going to become stronger as Druid gets more good cards while any other strategy will have to compete directly (or be Token and highjack the meta when the opportunity presents itself). Best case scenario: support gets out of hand and the entire archetype gets nerfed somehow, which opens up space for non-quest decks.

This was my personal best start with the aggro warrior list that is posted here on Out of Cards as part of their meta report. I used it to hit rank 5. Along the way, this happened:

I think it's actually the best possible opening 3 turns that the deck is capable of executing, full stop. If you go watch the replay, yes, that really was the board state at the end of turn 3.

cant find any good deck to reach my last 1000wins with warrior for next update. dropped from rank 1 to 4 :(

Now I'm not a terribly competitive HS player, so I don't play an awful lot of ladder, usually just a burst at the end of the month to get to rank 5-ish. As such I don't have any golden portraits.

One thing I keep noticing is that the number of wins on classes that I'm not really active with at the moment seems to go down with time. Even my least favourite classes had at least double digit wins last time I checked and now there are classes with only single-digit numbers of registered wins. For example, I played a bunch of aggro rogue during the Genn and Baku meta and now it says I have 19 wins with Rogue, which is absolutely not correct.

Is this normal? Has anyone else noticed something similar? Am I slowly going mad?

If it is the case that wins reset between seasons/rotations or w/e, I'd find that pretty demotivating - after all what's the point of slowly building up wins if they just disappear into the aether- but I'd like to know about it at least.

Have you guys seen this?  Where’s this from?

there are 2 things I would thank someone to explain.

-The first is the weapon hold, is it described anywhere in WoW or is it merely cosmetic for HS. Also, if Gul'dan is holding a weapon, wouldn't Warlock be fit to have weapon cards?

-The second question, who/what is the skull-faced clear being/statue on the back right of the picture?

Hi all. Feeling quite pleased with myself this month, as I resisted the urge to dust Bwonsamdi, the Dead when I was given her/him/it as my free legendary at the launch of Rastakhan's Rumble. Over the last few weeks, the card has gone from dumpster tier to a core card in combo priest, arguably the best deck in the game atm.

Does anyone else have any smug tales of duff cards they've resisted the urge to dust, only for them to become extremely useful long after their release? Or are there cards sitting in your collection right now, which you're hoping will one day prove their worth? I'm still holding out for that Harbinger Celestia meta...

This is how I got to rank 5 this month (why this late? I've mostly been playing Eternal this month, not Hearthstone.) Aggro warrior took me from Rank 9 to Rank 5 with 14 wins and 3 losses.

Hey all, I saw the update we're getting soon(ish) regarding new portraits and the Wild Card event coming up. This post will be focusing on the new portraits and other ideas in regards to progression.

Hooray, big news, we're getting new hero portraits that are pretty much upgrades from the vanilla portraits that we've had since day one on our adventure. After achieving 1000 wins in ranked and/or arena with a specific class we get these awesome new portraits to show people how dedicated we are to one class, or just to show off how experienced we are within Hearthstone.

This is one way I feel that the community can agree on that rewards us for playing the game so much. It gives us something to work towards and it freshens things up a bit. Now, what other ways can Team 5 implement into the game that can "reward" us for playing? I mean, just being good at one class, or playing A LOT doesn't necessarily mean anything. Metas change and some players who are very good/knowledgeable of the game just don't play enough to obtain that amount of wins.

A small idea I've had comes in the form of Desk Toys. Pretty much exactly what it sounds like. Just an object to the side of the game board. These items should be rewarded for obtaining 100 wins during an expansion. For example; A wand of some kind from Dalaran for winning 100 games during the RoS expansion, a Loa banner from RR that changes color depending on the class you're playing, a wrench or maybe some Gloop from the Boomsday. Something that just sits to the side of the board, maybe you use it to represent your favorite expansion? Or maybe you've already obtained 100 wins by day 5-6 and want to show off. For mobile players this would be useless for obvious reasons, but if an in game shelf were implemented for them to at least look at the Desk Toys I think that would suffice.

The second idea in mind comes in the form of Full Art cards. I think this should only apply to some Legendaries and high profile cards. Along with that, in order to get these cards there should be a mini-quest associated with that card. Ragnaros the Firelord could have a mini-quest that reads "Defeat 100-250 opponents with this minions end of turn effect" in order to get the full art version. Sylvanas Windrunner could read "Steal 1000 minions with this card's Deathrattle". "Kill 1000 minions with Doomsayer to obtain it's full art". Or maybe it could be more challenging like trying to use Moorabi or something of that nature.

The last idea I have is to introduce some individual game board pieces and the actual field the cards are in. Essentially for these to be put into the game, Team 5 would have to introduce a blank board for us to place our pieces into. We design our side in a separate menu that's in the collection book, we go into a game, if the Custom Board is selected as the matches board, our side represents us and out opponent has their things that represent them. I can't think of what the individual game board pieces would be or how to get them, but hey, I'm sure you guys will come up with some ides.

We know that Ragnaros the Firelord and N'Zoth, the Corruptor are going to be included in the group of 23 cards that will be in standard for the upcoming event. Let's start some speculation on what the other 21 cards will be.

We know that it will have to be cards that are currently in Wild or the Hall of Fame. I suspect that it won't be just legendary cards that get added in. The announcement said it would be "some of the most popular and game-changing cards from across Hearthstone history".

I'm going to say that Sylvanas Windrunner and Dr. Boom will be cards that they bring back. I also think that Grim Patron has a chance to make an appearance.

Anyone else have thought as to what might show up? Do you think they will include Death Knights?

Just wondering the implications of this, [Hearthstone Card (karthut defender) Not Found] is one of the most synergistic cards ever with N'zoth sure in wild it's not a thing cause wild have much better comboes.

I am not that great of a deck builder any crazy decks you can make with N'zoth in standard?

My first instinct is quest warlock since the deck runs a lot of deathrattle taunts and N'zoth would ressurect them all to make a really strong swing turn.

I am really bored with Highlander Hunter. Quest Paladin is fun but I lose most games so the fun wore off pretty quick.

There are a few decks that run Leeroy Jenkins that I have been looking at. 1600 is a lot of dust for me so I wanted to get your opinions on if it is worth getting.

Any thoughts?

Not having a clear cut identity is what getting priest into the problem in wild. 

We know that Blizzard's first priority is standard & wild will always be a red headed stepchild to them. So in the context of card design they will always prioritise cards that will work outright in the standard format, while its utility in wild is always an after thought. 

So with each expansion release we are seeing Priest constantly getting its identity changed. For a while it was resurrect which was not well supported & then came the buff one. But with the recent talk with them shifting divine spirit to HOF & Priest once again getting its identity removed, buff priest will not be well supported in the future either. The benefit of having clear identity is that some other classes are seeing their new cards getting trickled down to their Wild decks. Like secret Mage, battlecry shaman or thief rogue, taunt warrior, kun aviana otk druid, mech pally etc. 

Many of the previous priest archetype that didn't work in the past got no support (like shadowform), So now majority of them have made the entire collection to be filled with dead cards that won't get any support in the future. Many popular archetype didn't receive any support in future expansion either like Dragon priest, resurrect priest, death rattle priest etc. So once a strong deck is now losing its relevancy while weak deck being dead for eternity. While other classes are getting support from their standard set, Priest is getting nothing. Also they completely killed big priest quite successfully. 

Priest was quite bad against aggro & now days with this excessive aggressive environment in wild  it is getting shafted again. some of the deck like mech pally or secret mage have gotten to hard to counter. Attrition & control two of the strongest aspect of Priest gameplay are getting fizzled out as well. 

In the current situation I think Pirest has lost its relevancy in wild & won't be viable anytime soon.

Un-nerfing Raza will be a positive step ( not much but still a positive) but I don't think Blizzard will do that. 

So - We start the Plague Lord on chapter 3 and she says something like "We cannot do this in one run, but at least we can weaken it". 

Bullshit! One and done baby!

When I played him just now, only 1 card showed up each time I had to "guess" which card he was about to play. For each turn. Which meant he wasn't able to play a single card before he died at turn 7.

Seems like a bug (and a pretty big one since it meant effectively an auto-victory for me) so curious if that happened to others as well?
