Alternate Heroes are cosmetics designed to replace the default Hero portrait of the class. These alternate skins do not affect the gameplay, but merely add visual diversity to the game. All of them, apart from the 1000-win alternate portrait of the default hero, come with a unique set of emotes, and some of them also have their own thematic card backs. The Chrome Crusaders bundle also included a special card back that could also be obtained by buying the Steel Guardian Malfurion Hero Set.

The skin can be picked as a reward from 10 options unlocked by reaching level 50 of Madness at the Darkmoon Faire Rewards Track or level 100 of the subsequent expansions' Rewards Tracks.

Kel'Thuzad, the Inevitable is the Shadowlands version of the Mage hero Kel'Thuzad.

The skin is obtainable as a part of the Kel'Thuzad, the Inevitable Bundle. The bundle is purchasable for $9.99 from August 9th, 2022 for a limited time, and it includes 5 Mage packs.

How to Obtain Khadgar in Hearthstone

Khadgar is an Archmage and the current leader of the Kirin Tor. He was an apprentice of the Guardian Medivh.

The skin was originally a standalone item in part of an "Apps for Earth" promotion, from which all proceeds were donated to World Wildlife Fund. The skin could be purchased for $4.99 only by using an iOS device, and stayed in the shop from April 14th, 2016 until April 24th.

The skin returned shortly to the in-game shop on February 17th, 2020 and was purchasable for $9.99 USD until March 4th, 2020.

A special card back was added alongside the hero during the latter period, and was also awarded to everyone who had purchased Khadgar previously.

The skin and card back returned to the shop for the second time on May 11th, 2021 and could be purchased for 1500 gold or $9.99 until May 25th. The skin and card back became available for purchase again on June 3rd, 2021 and can be bought for 1800 gold.

How to Obtain Kit Waxwhisker in Hearthstone

Kit Waxwhisker is a Hearthstone-original kobold character.

The skin was obtainable as a part of Kit Waxwhisker Bundle. The bundle was purchasable for 1500 Runestones or $14.99 USD from May 31st, 2023 until June 27th, and it included 5 Mage Class packs as well as a special card back.

How to Obtain Lady Katrana Prestor in Hearthstone

Lady Katrana Prestor is the human disguise of Onyxia through which she manipulated events in Stormwind.

How to Obtain Medivh in Hearthstone

Medivh was the last Guardian of Tirisfal, a powerful mage tasked with guarding the world of Azeroth.

The skin could be purchased as a standalone item from the in-game shop for $9.99 USD from when it was first introduced on June 15th, 2015 until the skin rotated out of the shop on December 10th, 2019. The skin was also obtainable as a bonus alongside select physical copies of the Warcraft movie.

The skin came with a special card back.

The skin and card back returned to the shop on April 6th, 2021 and could be purchased for 1500 gold or $9.99 until April 12th. The skin and card back became available for purchase again on June 3rd, 2021 and can be bought for 1800 gold.

How to Obtain Mixqueen Azshara in Hearthstone

Mixqueen Azshara is an alternate version of the Mage hero Queen Azshara.

The skin was one of the three alternatives for the final reward of the Headliner's Tour event, leading up to the Festival of Legends expansion. The event began on March 14th, 2023 and ended on March 28th.

The skin was added to the shop as a part of the Mixqueen Azshara Bundle after the event. The bundle was purchasable for $9.99 from April 4th, 2023 until April 18th, and it included 5 Mage packs.

How to Obtain Navigator Khadgar in Hearthstone

Navigator Khadgar is an alternate version of the Mage hero Khadgar, inspired by the Voyage to the Sunken City expansion.
