So I disenchanted the nerfed cards Imprisoned Antaen and Skull of Gul'dan like all good people do..... You would assume that with the new duplicate protection rule that the next rares I opened (I have the rest from the set) would be those cards, right?
Except it wasn't - I got some random rares that I already have. Is this a bug, or have I misunderstood something? And has anyone else noticed this?
I think your mindset changes once you have a specific goal in mind. When you're building a home brew deck you have a good sense of how competitive/non-competitive it is or will be.
If the goal is to accomplish pulling off a crazy combo, winning games, meme people. Temper your expectations accordingly. And like other posters have said, tweak it to what you're seeing. The games will vastly change from 20-15, 15-10, 10-5, and 5-Legend. So make sure you're setting your deck up for success rather than not adjusting to the types of decks you're seeing.
Hope that helps.
It does help, thanks! I think also bouncing between wild and standard means I've not yet properly grasped the respective metagames. Might be worth playing a few games with a random deck first before launching into crafting something new.
Depends on how fun the deck is, or could possibly be. If you think it has real potential, keep at it, but definitely refine as you go in response to what you're facing. Sometimes I build some crazy OTK thing, and once I get it to go off a single time, I'm happy and delete it. Other types might have more staying power. Don't let your memes be dreams!
Yeah, maybe that's it - set a small goal like 'pull off a cool combo once' and stick to it. Thanks.
At the early point of each expansion, I want to try so many new decks, but I always end up going through the same routine:
Spend a while creating a new deck
Queue on ladder; get annihilated by an aggro deck
Queue on ladder; get slowly murdered by a control deck over 20 minutes
Rage-delete deck
Cycle 1-4 ad infinitum
Now, all usual responses aside (git gud etc.), I'd like to know how long other players stick with a deck before they decide to refine it or just make an entirely new one. Especially at the early stages of an expansion cycle.
In short, gimme your tips on how to stay focused on one deck. Cheers!
Has there been any announcement what the plan for the single player content for SoU will be? I haven't seen any announcement and wanted to know if I should start hording gold now if it's going to be similar to Dalaran Heist.
I would imagine it'll be exactly the same format as the Dalaran Heist.
What else are you gonna spend your gold on? If you like the PvE stuff, then might as well save up.
Very tempted, as it's a good deal and quite cheap, but I think I'll pass. I'm just over the pity timers in most of the previous expansions, so this wouldn't get me anywhere except wanting to spend more gold...
Also, I'm really quite annoyed that they don't at least include the latest expansion in these bundles. It just makes it seem more of a ploy to get you to blow all your gold on previous expansions to reach pity timers....right before single player content is announced.
*shrug* Maybe it's just not the kind of product for me. GL to those who buy it!
I see what you mean. Evolve can feel supplementary to the game plan and the deck sometimes doesn't feel like it has enough support to make full use of Frog.
Thanks - I had missed that part of the rule. Makes sense so that others don't game the system.
Done
EDIT - My mistake - all working as intended!

Trying out Raid the Sky Temple and winning once in 10 games was pretty fun. :P
I dunno... I feel like priest needed this at 2 mana, although it could feel quite bad to play against.
Part of me wishes they kept it at 2 mana but changed the buff (+2 attack only or maybe +2/+1)

Think it might have to do with recent patch changes, but I can't remember when exactly.
One of the comments mentions it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/wildhearthstone/comments/c805d5/new_patch_nerfs_sn1psn4p_otk_warlock/
I believe the order of play matters here: because you play the Portal after Thaurissan's effect, then it takes precedence.

I hold on to everything, in case there are any nerfs or other changes to cards. I only disenchant when I need the dust, focusing on goldens first.

UK but I think US also do it.

That won't proc Flame Ward
But agreed, it would be funny
Only 5 health, right? Reborn brings back the minion with 1 health.
Against an aggro deck turn 6 might be too late, especially if they have a large board and a Shieldbreaker or can just burn you over the top.
Looks like Blizz are pushing the neutral taunts this expansion...
I'm not sure on Khartut Defender, it's similar to Sludge Belcher (a strong card), but for 1 mana more there's the potential to heal for 6.
It seems a bit slow to me though.
