Leak seems legit as it ties into the expansion teaser we got at the beginning of the year and wouldn't be surprised if all expansions this year do call backs to past characters we've seen before due to the 10th birthday. My only worry with the above translations is the ability to "re-open locations". This could go 1 of 2 ways. The ability to activate a closed location (after the turn it was used). This mechanic could be really broken or really useless depending on the location used. The other way it could be implemented is "resurrecting" a location that used up all it's durability. This could be very scary seeing as locations have so much value already.
Seems they going to be a bit late with this league. Necropolis was released on the 29th of March and leagues/seasons/expansions usually last for ~13 weeks so it should* have released on the 28th of June or 5th of July. We ofc give them a pass on this now coz the team is split between POE 1 & 2 and I'd imagine POE 2 is taking up more and more dev time. Also remember they promised at last year's ExileCon that the beta would be released on the 7th of June (2 days time at the time of writing) and now it's delayed till the end of the year, so lots of pressure atm for GGG
Managed to beat Arfus with Illidan only coz Arfus ran out of cards in the late game. Jace was clutch in the end as well. I also don't own Arfus but if I wanted to play more excavate, I'd just play standard so not really bothered. Doubt the hero health adjustments will do any good. It's the passive, hero power and deck list that are the problem. If the passive is changed to play 1 of each rune to excavate a treasure, it'd be much more balanced. For now, only aggro decks like Leeroy stand a chance of bursting him down before he excavates any good legendary treasures.
Also I find the interaction with The Azerite Snake against Xyrella completely invalidates Xyrella's passive which is absolute BS. Let's hope once Arfrus can excavate the Paladin and Shaman legendary treasure, the chance of getting the snake is will substantially less.
As for dust refunds, I'm ok with it. Dust refunds should only be given to players if the actual card itself is changed and seeing that Twist will only be active for 2 months, there's also no reason to buy any of the Twist bundles in the shop. It's just not worth it
TB_BaconShopLockAll_Button this name for the freeze button is hilarious 🤣
I want some bacon now hahah
Quite interesting stats here. Pretty crazy to think that only 21% of the cards are collectable. Also I'd imagine that even though Duels was removed from the game, all the cards associated with that mode are still in the client. For some reason I assumed Duels assets would be removed to reduce the size of the game, especially for mobile clients.
As for those extra 700 cards in the OoG DB, maybe there's duplicate cards from past core sets that weren't removed?
Agreed. Was hoping Twist would have more Brawl Block seasons where they'd mix up the expansions randomly but alas, my dissapointment continues. Will definitely give Whizzbang Heroes a try but it doesn't really excite me that much
Ticking Module escapes a 2nd nerf, how shocking. As for Showdown!, making it 3 mana does make the card thematically consistent which I hope does happen but highly doubt it'll knock Flood Paladin really hard. Honestly think all these flood decks are carried by Ticking Module but ok Blizzard, lets go with nerfing these cards instead. The only other option would be to nerf Pylon Module seeing as that module is only seen in flood decks
This is the best design choice out of all opinions I've seen. And we know they have the capabilties to do this coz the event quests are tiered as well. Still a bit infuriating they implemented this change and taking so long to improve it. Now more than ever I'm making shitty wild decks just to complete weekly quests
Honestly the more I think about it, the more this move makes sense. Last year I noticed the Blizzcon tickets weren't sold out at all (prior to Covid, they'd be sold out in hours). The price of the tickets also went up I think*, could be wrong though. Also when watching the main presenation, when they'd pan over the audience, you could see a lot of empty seats, even though they did some raffle thing for seating arragements. WRT the presentations themselves, I feel only the WoW presentation had real excitement purely coz of Chris Metzen. Super sad we got to this point but Covid wasn't the only factor why last year's Blizzcon didn't do so well.
While this news is promising, we need to know the scope of the changes to make a complete decision. I'd be in favour of more nerfs than buffs personally. Also I do wonder what metrics Blizzard use to determine the power level of the first expansion per year. I personally found the metas of Forged in the Barrens, Sunken City and Festival of Legends somewhat boring and slow but maybe that's the power level Blizzard want to reach. We'll know on Thursday I guess but hey, 30 card changes can mean a lot of dust if most of them are nerfs.
I have very similar sentiments to anchorm4n with Hearthstone being my main game since open Beta and for me personally, it'll be very challenging to outright uninstall the game. I will always come back during expansion reveals and especially Standard rotations as I always enjoy that fresh new meta feel with a limited card pool.
The above exhibits have frustrated me with the change to weekly quests being the biggest outlier. I struggled to finish the "Win 10 games in ranked standard" this weekend and it infuriated the hell out of me. I'm not enjoying the current meta which is probably the main cause, but if every week is going to feel like this, like a chore trying to rush in finishing weekly quests every Sunday, my enjoyment in the game will definitely decrease drastically. The current weekly quest implementation is still difficult to complete for the casual HS player and I can guarentee you, the AMU's will decrease substationally and Blizzard is shooting themselves in the foot with this change. I identify as a casual player where I'd only login to complete dailies/weeklies, hitting Diamond 10 every month. I'd say I used to spend ~10-12 hours on the game per week prior to the weekly quest change now I'll need to spend double that to complete these new weeklies. More casual players than me will stop playing as the game no longer respects our time (as many people have pointed out already.)
I've spent ~ $800 (R15 000 in my country's currency) on this game over these 10 years and my dissapointment has only grown with time. Very sad for the game and this site 💔😢
With the amount of outcry on reddit, I'm sure the new weekly quests will get updated to become easier to complete. At the very least they need to cut the requirement in half and keep the same amount of XP. Winning 7/8 games in ranked or playing 30 minis is much more managable. But yes this update is appualing and this change to weekly quests completely ruins all the good changes that were added.
Something that was changed recently is the forum post text field. While is has been modernized, the new text field removed functionality like the HS card tags (we have to manually add ['card']['/card'] now if we want to reference a HS card) and the spell check was removed ☹️
I know we moving away from HS only content but man, having to manually add the card tags is annoying
The demon discover pool isn't the problem. The main problem is having a 3 mana 6/5 on turn 4 almost every game. Magtheridon is honestly just a win more card and only required against Token Hunter matchups.
Well, guess we all know who caused the previous agreements to fall through 😏
While this new agreement benefits players worldwide due to the botting problem, I have a sneaky suspicion that it won't resolve the problem completly. Players will still buy the super arena draft accounts and ladder botting will still be possible. I'm sure it'll still take time for Blizzard to regain trust from the Chinese playerbase but there is hope that being allowed to play HS in China will reduce botting in other regions.

Ah thanks linkblade! I see it's all working now, thank you 😁
Pretty sure we'll be seeing a lot less of Murloc Growfin in Arena now. Funny how Gigantify runs rampant there but it's a dead mechanic everywhere else
Do we have an ETA on the Editor issues? Also missing the spell check a bit 😅 a bit OCD on typos

Ah the flavor text for Building-Block Golem is so hilarious and on point 🤣
I am torn between rating Pro Gamer 5/5 ⭐just for the flavour, even though it's rubbish competitively
Even the flavour text is hilarious and extremely meta: "Wow... who could have guessed? Another rock user ruining the meta for everyone as usual."
Is this the first time they've added new mechanics to a mini-set? Two new(-ish) mechanics I guess.
