I checked the card for the phobia, but nothing came up. Were you talking about werewolves? I didn't get anything from those cards either. I found the landlord one, though.
Ok, that's one I managed to figure out quickly, although I'm stumped on most others for games I don't play. For the trick or treat one, that's the wrong part of the question to focus on. That's just for flavor, but think about a minion you play in HS that you just can't understand what its voice lines are saying. Also, it's a spooky one to fit with the theme.
I'm right there with you personally. For me, the fun of the game is the slow building of the collection. That's part of how a collectible trading card game is played, by collecting. The few times I've preordered a whole set and had a ton of packs to open on day one, I found the whole set that much more boring. I enjoyed having rewards to collecting a certain amount of cards in Duels since it meant I had a fun new toy to play with in the duels mode as I progressed the collection throughout the year.
And I never experienced those shows myself, but I'd love to see thing like this. Looks like better quality animation in some ways than a lot of show today.
I had something similar in the back of my mind, but couldn't figure out how to put it into words in a simple way. This moves a bit outside the guide's scope of judging on existing WoW lore flavor, which is why it wasn't included, but is still a very good point for the card's general flavor in relation to the warlock cards in this set as a whole.
Actually, Darkbishop Benedictus is depicting the time (possibly near the end of it) when he was still masquerading as a bishop of the Light, but secretly practicing the Void. Thus his bishop attire. Archbishop Benedictus is depicting him in his full Twililght Cultist robes as a minion of Deathwing. That fight took place at Wyrmrest Temple in Northrend, which is why he was included as part of Knights of the Frozen Throne. Really, that version would be better called "The Twilight Father", but I don't think they knew they were going to make him into another card at the time, so they just used his real name and had to slightly change it to "Darkbishop" when they made the new card in Stormwind.
Ooo, Alchemy would be great to work in as a profession tool! I think we might get something added with the mini set since we're almost undoubibly getting more mounts. There were mounts shown in the trailer that aren't cards yet, so they will likely have a continuation of these core set themes as we move on to Deadmines. perhaps professions could follow suit.
I agree about enjoying fresh additions to the lore instead of being too dependent of milking characters and events from the past. I'm currently not playing WoW because I'm not interested in what I consider too grindy and unrewarding of gameplay for my time atm, but I'm still enjoying the story from a distance and will likely return at some point in the future.
I'm fully with you on how cool the Uther is for an actual lore reference, and the others make cool "what if" versions, much like most Hearthstone Skins at this point.
What makes you think of rogues with Little Red Riding Hood out of curiosity? You're right about Omega Agent, but I can explain Stormhammer as a strange flavor crossover. For hunter they seemed to be including griffins as part of the theme, which makes sense as they are beasts. The most famous griffin riders in the lore are the Wildhammer Dwarves, who wield shamanistic lightning powers and hammers just like Stormhammer. It looks like it should be a shaman weapon, but it got included as part of a package theme. Also, the first time these griffin riders made their debut was in an areal battle with red dragons enslaved by the Horde, so the dragon connection also makes a bit more sense from that perspective.
Really, though, card flavor should be clear from the getgo and not require someone like me to explain obscure stuff to have it make sense.
Does this Arena "free ticket" work for heroic duels as well?
Well, I kind of got carried away with thinking up themes and words, lol. I'm glad you like them all so much.
What made this one harder for you out of curiosity? Just getting feedback for word choice and such.
Let's just say you might want to look underground for this one...

The even restrictions sounds like a lot of fun, honestly.

My pleasure, these are so much fun to make!
Glad you like them :) There's going to be a lot more coming out later on the site over our celebration f Oozefest, so stay tuned for those!
Thank you kindly :) I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I very much agree! lol

She has meaning if you enjoy interacting with her in WoW Shadowlands, but that's about it and not what I'd say the majority of HS players ID as.
Random hero portrait would be really cool, I agree.
