Their choices for Diamond cards are often strange to me. Lor'themar Theron, for instance - how many people will be successfully playing him? It isn't a great card, and if it were it'd be a niche card.
I think the most often played cards should be Diamond. That in mind, it'd be fun if the Diamond card were decided AFTER the expansion launch - imagine a Horde V Alliance sort of event to decide which legendary gets the Diamond treatment.
The art cycle for Standard could make that difficult, granted, but perhaps it could work for Diamondizing Wild cards?
I really wish this were a 2-mana discover 2-mana cards, instead. If the odds of finding direct damage like Frozen Touch were higher, there'd be a reason to include it in decks. As is, though, I think Larry is right. You'd much rather play a body that discovers a spell, i.e. Venomous Scorpid, than discover two spells. If you even want to do that!
Ah yes, let's bring back the most well-loved of Hearthstone characters, Professor Putricide. He really gets the kids going!
Honestly, this isn't too exciting. Artifact DH would be terrible without the Location. Most of the Concoctions don't look like cards Rogue needs (especially at 3 mana). And you'd want to be playing this bloke when you're about to make a trade with several minions - A) I don't think about Rogue as having many minions and B) Rogue? Trade? Hmm?
You could also drop it before slamming a minion with a spell, so there may be Potionmaster Putricide + Backstab early game plays, but it seems unlikely later on.
Anyway, shoot me if Concoctions gain any traction whatsoever.
Welp, there's my day 1 deck. An aggro Undead Druid deck that tops out at Plaguespreader. If you don't run Sire Denathrius, you don't have to worry about yours getting hit. Drag the opponent down to your mana curve and kill him with experience c:
Pretty disappointed with these cards. My least favorite Hearthstone expansion schtick is 'design a new flavor for the class that'll never be used again'. I'd rather have mediocre cards that fit the class identity. At least those could fill some gaps in existing decks.
What I'd love to see is card draw or generation. Shaman always relies on powerful swing turns because they can't draw much. Currently, though, it's looking like another expansion of Multicaster hell. Wee.

I think this is a great card. Freeze is already a solid effect, but Silence is valuable and hard to come by this easily for some classes - for 2-mana, with an upside? Hell yeah. My only gripe is that you can't lay the Freeze and the Silence on different minions.
It's great fuel for decks that want to play spells from different schools. I'm not sure when you'd like to use it, otherwise, unless there's a nasty combo deck involved.
I think Dapper's comparison to the Primes and Pyros is fair so far as power level goes, but Astalor Bloodsworn adds the next card to your hand right away - in classes like Shaman with poor draw (and Battlecry synergy) or decks that want to keep large hands, this is a mediocre-to-good card that just keeps on giving. I can see it being slotted in a few decks just to fill the gaps.
Dapper and Brandon ask, why not run Sire Denathrius instead? Why not both?
I feel that point about quests polarizing the game. Especially as Sire Denathrius, sometimes the quests you draft are it. Getting the quest that upgrades when you buy a minion plus the quest that puts sold minions' stats into the Tavern - it doesn't matter what you buy after that!
That's a highroll, obviously, but there are very obvious differences in power from one reward to another. Because you're only offered them once, it feels bad to continue after getting three mediocre quest options.
