  • I don't play Runeterra, but I checked in 'cause I'm bored, and man - I wish we had more cards like Swole Scout in Hearthstone! The flavor and the image would make me giggle every time I played it. Overall, the flavor and energy in this batch of cards is much cuter and sillier than our usual. I'm jealous.

  • *muffled wheezing noises*

  • Ooh, this is brilliant. This is exactly what I want to see. Topics that get the community talking about and sharing about how they play Hearthstone, rather than simply news. Something that ignite the forum side of OoC as well as the reporting side.

Especially as a veteran player who sometimes struggles to find enjoyment, this is lovely. Thank you!

  • ORC WILL NOT BE BOUND BY PANTS!!!

  • I love the idea of a mass nerfing... which is weird to say. If that means that decks would generally be slower, so that my dumb slow decks could be more powerful, I'd be very happy. If it means that some synergistic tools become worthless, I'd be less happy - what drags me to Wild anyway is the feeling that there are just too few cards in Standard to make an archetype good. You want one more Overload card, one more Pirate. Any 'good' deck usually feels full of holes, and thus unsatisfying.

Re: the guy who questioned more printing of OTK-enabling cards and from-the-hand style decks, I completely agree - there have been way too many of those recently! Perhaps because they feel pressure to make 8-10 mana cards playable, as Dean says. Perhaps because they feel expansions need a figurehead, and the easiest way to raise hype is to print a 'win the game' card. Either way, most of the Quests and the other uninteractive win conditions in Standard just should not have been printed.

While both are powerful lynchpins for a strategy, there's a big difference between Mal'Ganis and Mordresh Fire Eye (or Jace Darkweaver, or Grand Magus Antonidas, and others) The first enables your other cards to win the game while its alive. The second wins the game for you, enabled by your other cards already having been played. We need more of the first and less of the second, so that the board, and more importantly the current board state, remain relevant.

  • When will Face Hunter no longer be a thing?

When will the deck archetypes they push and get us excited about actually work better than aggro decks?

Bleh. It's the usual week-into-an-expansion sadness when all my experiments aren't working out.

  • Huzzah! The expansion cometh, and y'all have pulled off another reveal season in as fine a style as always. Pretty impressive, considering the shuttered card reveals and card reveal streams. Thanks for making it exciting.

Also, I'm flattered that my deck appeared among those community favorites. Even despite mentioning Jaina's hooters in the guide, haha.

  • In those niche decks, though, I think it'll be a very powerful card. Perhaps not in Standard, but Big Spell Mage has a few more fun tools in Wild, and this fits right in. Plus, unlike Satyr, you get the discount for doing something you'd be doing anyway.

Also, this is gonna be a fine fit in my 'fill the deck with 50 Scrolls of Wonder' Mage, haha. That deck's definitely getting posted here once I test it out!

  • We're usually wacky, but this is the weirdest round of predictions I've seen yet.

Cowardly Grunt is one of the lowest-rated cards? Provoke is only at 67? Shadowcloth Needle and Celestial Ink Set aren't top tier cards? Granite Forgeborn, the highest rated Shaman card? Composting, only 64? Find the Imposter not in the top five quests?

I do agree with our analysis of the Tradeable cards, though. The keyword itself seems so powerful! (The opposite of Caravans, heh.) It's hard to imagine that they won't see play.

  • Haha, you beautiful bastard, you lifted my guide formatting. Now I've gotta try this deck out! How dare you?

Also, the Garfield quote in your signature is top-tier.

  • All of the theorycrafted decks in these articles are beautiful memes. I not surprised at all. I love you guys.

  • Haha, oh yes, this is one that I've got to try out, if only for the cackles when you play Tess and your opponent realizes that it was a ruse all along, fool!

If you really want to tease your opponent (at your own detriment), you could include cards that reveal cards in your deck - Spiteful Summoner, Grand Archivist, Keening Banshee, Gadgetzan Jouster, Armored Warhorse, Fel ReaverMaster Jouster, The Skeleton Knight... that may be all the options, actually.

  • I'm a sucker for random bundles of stats, so I've created an Evolve Shaman. I'll be updating the guide with card changes and thoughts once the expansion drops, so stay tuned!

  • I was thinking the same thing! The days of Yogg n Load Hunter were very, very fun days.

  • If only Blizzard offered premade decks for sale, you could also set up a giveaway a week/two weeks after an expansion launches, to cash in on that 'if only I had those cards, I could enjoy this set!' sentiment. I find that's when I've made the most bad wallet-related decisions, heh.

The miniset is more of an event, though, and that'd be a lovely idea! For you, and for us.

  • Should be late Friday!

  • I'd like to say again how glad I am that Explosive Sheep is back in Standard. That'll be in a competitive deck sooner or later!

  • Either nothing, or you'll get a dormant Sherazin. Hopefully the latter! Likely the former, though. Meh.

  • I'm with ya on this. The way they've designed quests for Stormwind feels like the Barrens Caravan cards - doomed to fail simply because of what they are. On top of that, even, the quests are hard to complete and the payoffs are small or irrelevant.

I'm hoping that my opinions are wrong, but at the moment it's very surprising that they're shipping these quests as figureheads for the expansion. It's surprising that most of them made it through development.

  • A few off-brand choices; I love it!

Hopefully Rogue will have some bangin' Duels archetypes come Stormwind. When Rogue gets overpowered, Rogue gets very, very fun (to play).
