I get the point you're making since Edwin is a generally better craft. For this deck though it's not as important, it's really just another threat that might eat up a silence honestly.

Octosari is solid for this deck like you mentioned, but possible replacements if you don't want to craft it are Undatakah or Siamat.

Cool deck! Thanks for sharing it!

I'm also missing octosari.. I have Myra's and undatakah. I'm surprised you said undatakah as a replacement rather than Myra's... Why is that?

You could try playing Aggro Warrior in standard.

It's not super expensive (allthough a bit heavy on the epics) and also rather flexible (a lot of cards work, but aren't necessary or even optimal)

IN terms of Hunter, I'm playing Oblivitron Hunter in Standard right now, and despite it not showing up in statistics it's still just as decent as it was last expansion. It just hasn't really changed....like at all.

Hey! I'd love to see your list? I was playing it end of last expansion but was probably ~50% with it. Didn't think it would be great this expansion

Have you been playing this list recently? Would love to hear how it's doing as I'm only missing Catrina, but low on dust!

Hunterace brought it to Grandmasters this week, so there might soon be.

    Haha fair enough. Thanks!

I crafted amet and the psychopomps before the nerfs.. So keen to know how successful this deck is and whether to go all in and craft bwonsamdi

I'm actually playing wild for the first time with this deck. Without lock and load, or cat tricks, I put in 2x flare, 1x spellstone, 1x flanking strike.

Obviously climbing quite comfortably from r25 to 18 already haha but look forward to seeing how it goes higher up!

with the coming nerfs I will have enough dust to craft this deck, do you think it is worth crafting Rhok'delar and Lock and Load for this? other options would be crafting dinotamer brann and/or the shaman quest.

Having played the weapon /spell hunter a lot while it was in standard, as well as zuljin, I can say that you get such a huge hand refill with zuljin that you could get away without the weapon. At the very least you could try the deck without the missing cards and see if you like it?

Also - I was lucky to open the Shaman quest and it is super fun!

I expected a nerf to CC, but Extra Arms is getting renerfed? I am honestly really surprised about the latter change. Well, I kinda hope warrior gets a slight hit too.

[edit] Are they really planning on nerfing Northshire Cleric as well? Jared Noel mentions her in their chat above.

Yeh, the extra arms nerf makes me sad :( it's a fun card to play!

    This seems so cool!

I love the idea of trying a standard rogue highlander and bouncing zephrys etc but don't have the cards yet to try it myself. And as ftp it would be nice to know if it's viable before spending my precious dust.

Have you tried an equivalent standard version??

The efficient bounce options in Standard are reduced to Shadowstep and Waggle Pick. You can use brewmasters, but they are a Tempo loss.

If you try Standard, i would suggest going straightforward for a faster deck, including stuff like Argent Commander and other Tempo cards, without caring too much of bouncing, if not occasionally.

All in all, i am not sure Standard Rogue has enough tools to make this viable, unlike eg Hunter.

Yeh.. You're probably right. I guess I'll keep playing my home-brew thief deck when I'm craving some rogue! Thank you for your reply!

Here's my order of power/oppressiveness after a couple days:

      1. Druid: Way too easy to pull off, opponent almost always has it done by turn 4 or 5. You don't even need to play any cards to do it, so there is no deck building penalty at all, and yet there are cards that make it even easier. Payoff too strong, so that even if they do very little the first 4-5 turns, they can instantly swing the game back. Tier S.

      2. Shaman: Same cards are used to trigger the quest and to synergize with the reward, so deck building for the quest is not a penalty. Too powerful with lackeys and other cheap battlecry cards like the new Sandstorm Elemental. Tier 1.

      3. Paladin: Like Shaman, same cards are used to trigger the quest and to synergize with the reward, so no deck building penalty. Combo with Mechano-Egg is borderline broken. Tier 1.

      4. Rogue: Easiest to pull off, often see it done by turn 3. The reward is good, not great, but conflicts some other good cards that make Burgle Rogue good. I'm not sure the quest version will win out over the non-quest versions, but still it is strong. Tier 2.

      5. Mage: A little harder to pull off, but not too bad. The reward is very RNG. You really have to get lucky or draw arch mage antonidas at the right time to make this work well. Like Rogue, not sure the quest is better than the same kind of deck without it, but its still strong. Tier 2.

      6. Warlock: Takes a long time to pull off, and making it faster requires adding garbage draw cards to the deck. Relies too much on portal draw, and need to get lucky with Arch-Villain Rafaam to really make good use of it. Tier 3.

      7. Priest: Easier to complete than it may first seem, the deck recipe does a good job showing if off. In the end though, it just seems like a vehicle for more of the same Divine Spirit > Inner Fire nonsense, and to that end, the quest seems like a win-more card. Tier 3.

      8. Hunter: Takes long to complete, unless you draw Swarm of Locusts. Hunter has a hard time surviving, and to make this quest work, you need to fill the deck with cards that won't help survival. With hardly any charge minions, the reward is not very useful unless your opponent is dumb enough to go wide.Tier 4.

      9. Warrior: I've only seen it once, and the reward seemed pretty good, but the cost (lots of weapons) has never really worked for warrior, and I don't see this making it work. Too slow, and too much damage to absorb to finish it. Tier 4.

Very very well said! I think priest is maybe underrated though. I'd call it tier 2. But yeh, druid one seems busted

"Brawl is random and can leave behind big threats"

Feels more like "always leaves the least desirable minion for your opponent".. Haha I just had to chuckle reading that. And yes that probably belongs in the salt thread.. Soz..

Super excited for this expansion though!

Bit dissappointed that only two of the new recipes feature the League highlander legendaries

Equally disappointed about the lack of plagues. But overall seems like a nice upgrade to his decks

How did they not include the new Murloc plague here?!

Well the deck has been surprisingly successful for me, but it is still an off-meta deck, and i would suggest against crafting cards EXCLUSIVELY for it.

On the other hand, once you have Genn Greymane, you can build Even Shaman (top tier deck) for very cheap, Even Warlock with some extra, but also Even Rogue, and then also try any other Even deck that comes up to your mind, as i did here.

So yeah, if you already tried some Wild games, and you liked it, starting from Genn is a smart idea, cheap, effective, and fun.

That is super insightful. Thanks dude. I think like you say, and ods/even deck will be the strongest thing I could build on a budget :)

I'm a ftp player, and have never played wild. But this looks so fun that I would consider crafting genn for it!

I hope it's reasonably successful and that you give us an update when it goes live!
