  • Generally the reason they choose certain mechanics to get a keyword is whether a keyword would accurately describe what it does. Stuff like Deathrattle, Battlecry, etc. all give you a pretty good idea of what it does, without needing to read what the mechanic is before. The best thing I can think of for that would be Magic-Proof or something along those lines, but even then that implies spells can’t damage it at all.

Most suggestions I hear for a name for it imply other things, not just not being able to target it with spells and hero powers.

That’s not to say I personally agree with this philosophy, it is one that could probably benefit from getting a keyword. Though that said, lately they have been changing how they do things, so maybe they’ll make it a keyword at some point in the near future

Maybe she's just saying something in Kobold? although "GLEN BECK!" did tickle me.

Also, what does Sludge Belcher say? that really used to bug me.

    "Tummy feels funny"

Even after being told that I still can’t hear it. All I ever hear is “suck steel swine” or something along those lines

How would reducing the stats make it more of a coin flip? It always starts in your opening hand, so there is absolutely no randomness in its effect. If the card itself were weaker then maybe the cost you have to pay to get the alternate Hero Power (having a dead starting card in your opening turn until turn 3) might not be worth the effect.

It’d end up being you just lose the game from having that dead turn, or the hero power manages to win you that game as it goes on

  • Part of the problem with doing different hero powers consistently in a deck is that the classes are all balanced around the starting hero powers. Different hero powers could fill in a weakness in a way that makes the deck too consistent (changing the stats or cost of the card would just make it more of a coin flip)

  • Adding onto this, Zephrys perfectly fills in Hunter’s lack of board clears. Usually if your opponent gets a big board against you that’s just a loss, Zephrys can instead give a Twisting whenever you need it (along with pushing for lethal if you get the chance)

  • Out of everything so far, I’ve loved what the expansion has done for my quest Priest. Gotten to run a deck with both quests which has been really cool so far, and Khartut Defender is just amazing in that deck. The first game I played with both of them was a lot of fun, reminded me of Dinomancy back in the days before Death Knights

I’m surprised Zephrys hasn’t caused too many amazing moments for me. Most of the time he’s more of a side note in my decks, kind of weird.

i wonder if warlock being missing and it being rafaam's class could be related to the fact the last wing is still a secret?

Could be the Lazul betrayal people have been speculating on. Really do hope they do something cool like that, would love to see some more from the Old Gods

  • Gotta say, I really didn’t expect to see this article. Really am loving how much you guys are experimenting with new content for the site

WIth 30 Zephrys in deck u don't meet the requirement :D

Yeah, that was kind of the joke

  • And the best part is, none of the would actually activate

Wow, a Zephrys brawl where every Zephrys you plays makes a perfect play against your rival Zephrys play and go on. Sounds pretty fun xD

I can imagine it being each deck is just 30 Zephrys.

  • Yeah, if there was a co-op type mode I know my friend and I would play that a bunch. Either a two headed giant kind of thing, or how the co-op brawls are

  • I’m thinking just avoid using corrupted blood for another card. I’ve been using Hakkar a lot, and it can do a good job of forcing your opponent on a timer (since basically no decks run anything to get rid of the card), while still giving your opponent a chance to silence, poly, etc. Making it a guaranteed thing with Rush, while only affecting the opponent doesn’t seem like that great of an idea.

If you wanted to do a neutral loa, I’d say Rezan would probably be the best bet, since he’s one of the most important ones to my knowledge

  • Is Rain of Toads really that bad of a card? I know that most of my decks aren’t that great, but for that card I’ve never really felt like it was too weak

  • If you’re able to buy it with gold, I’d personally say it’s  worth it, both for the cards, and since the solo adventures are a bit of fun to go through the first time. And besides, 1400 gold for any legendary of your choice sounds worth it to me

For me, it varies. Some ideas just stick in my brain and I will spend a lot of time trying to make it work. Quest Hunter (The Marsh Queen) was a deck I had a ton of fun working on and playing regularly with Prince Keleseth. It was a pretty weak deck but crazy fun since Prince K didn't have to be high-roll mulligan. Dropping him AFTER you played Queen Carnassa was insane value.

Other deck ideas where I feel like I'm a genius who had an epiphany get trounced and I immediately realize it was a flawed concept so I move on after 4-6 games.

Quest Hunter was definitely a cool deck. Something really fun to do was play Brann, Carnassa, then Keleseth. You end up with 30 1 mana 5/4’s in your deck that all draw a card

  • For the most part, all of my decks end up being heavier control decks, so whenever I see someone playing the value game I’ll usually manage to beat them. Pretty much the only decks I don’t bother trying to beat are things like Jade, Shudderwock, Big Priest, etc. stuff that will get really cheap big minions out or go infinite. Even if I win I won’t find them fun.

Think all my decks at the moment are ones I made. I try not to be too competitive with this game, since that kind of kills the fun. Most of what I make sticks to around rank 18, usually I’ll know if I made a deck with potential if it gets to 14 or below

  • I think maybe a better way to do it would be to have a certain amount of cards they can test out per week or so. While the dust route would help out some people, there are plenty of people out there that don’t even really have the dust to be doing something like that (and 10 games doesn’t always give you the best indicator of how well a card would perform)

It's still the worst one flavorwise, since when paladins, or murlocs are necromancer?

A lot of the time in media, mummies aren’t just considered to always be evil. To me it makes sense flavor wise, paladins are waking up mummies so that they’ll help defend Uldum.

They did already, unfortunately I miss it, too.

yeah that's what I mean, they should just do what the were teasing all along and bring back old cardbacks for tavern brawls

It got kind of annoying seeing a bunch of people complaining about how special their older cardbacks were when the Ragnaros one was reintroduced. Some people really need to calm down
