Part of it I’d imagine is because the first set of the year is their chance to try to make a new archetype that can be expanded on later (since it’ll have the most time in standard, and they don’t print that many synergy cards for decks that have rotated out).
The other part I think is that Wild’s probably gonna get some new people in it with the rotation, a bunch of people that want to play decks that have rotated out and all, so the meta might shift because of that
I'm glad at least he addressed Wild players, even if no changes are forthcoming. Not sure how the release of the first expansion upon rotation is that relevant to wild any more than any other expansion given nothing is removed from wild.
And having played 15 games at rank 2 wild or so tonight did get a bit tired of seeing Jania 8 times (>50%). But hey ho understandably people want to play decks that crush.
A third set format does sound interesting though - deck building is always fun. Shame I suck at it.
Irrespective of what is says in the shop, to advertise something publicly and then change it's nature after people already bought it might be illegal in the UK, and I assume so in many other countries. Perhaps they can get out of it with the terms and conditions on the website (which I am not going to check).
I didn't buy this bundle, but if you did I'd recommend politely contacting support and asking for them to resolve it. Ideally they'd offer purchasers some extra packs or a refund. (even though this will be a pain for support which I assume means they wouldn't bother trying to remove opened cards from collections). Again, I don't profit from this but it doesn't seem fair - and surely they don't want to deter people from buying future bundles.
Ninja changes like this are simply not acceptable when people are spending real money.
As for the patch bugs, I don't know if it's the resources/time they give to developers or the play/patch testers, but quality control seems systemically poor now. Please make changes whoever is supposed to fix that.
I hope Frodan is correct in that the next decade is secure for the game. But things like this makes me worry.
Hearthstone is a great game - let's not f*ck it up Team 5/Blizzard.
Only thing I'd disagree on is that Dragon Hunter "leverages outstanding matchups" against popular Warrior decks based on personal experience and hsreplay.
You must have an old quest or something cause the 60 gold quest is 20 battlecries now and I don't think I've had a 50 gold quest by default ever since the latest changes. You have to reroll your 60s to get a 50 nowadays, at least that's how I understand it. But it's not out of the question that there might be a bug, I do seem to recall that some months ago I opened HS and I had two quests that basically required the same thing, except the one that required more of that thing (say 3 wins with a particular class) awarded less gold than the one that required less of that thing (say, 2 games with any class).
You can get 50g without rerolling. Happened to me 10 times or so (I play on all 3 regions).
Please don't forget to keep your hands clean and away from your face! Soap and water do wonders to prevent the spread of germs =)
Good advice. Don't cough in to your hands, better your bent arm. If possible where you think there is an infection risk keep at least 1 meter away from others where possible, and away from people in general if you yourself think you might have it.
I played a very similar list from rank 3 to legend, just with 2x Lifedrinker instead of Big Ol' Whelp. If you want I can give a more thorough explanation about how to play it against the decks I faced the most between those ranks. In general I agree with your guide, but there are a few things I disagree with. First of all I almost always keep Faerie Dragon if I don't have Phase Stalker in my opening hand, and always when facing Rogue. Also, Res Priest is actually favoured in my experience because you can just kill them before they get all their annoying stuff online. I also think you're very lucky to not have faced any Galakrond Warrior because that's one of the match-ups I struggled with the most, besides Token Druid and Mech Paladin if they draw Crystology and Galvanizer.
Thanks very much - that's a really useful insight.
Definitely can see the benefit of Fairie Dragon early against rogue as I said in the guide - but will add to the mulligan section as a specific and general rule.
hsreplay agrees on the Gala Warrior matchup being unfavored - not played it myself as you say but I can see why it would be hard :) It also says res priest is a bad matchup but like you I've not had problems thus far.
Going to update the guide with your input. Thanks again :)
After crunching the numbers on 416 packs over 3 regions:
Playing across 3 regions will skew the Legendary percentage up due to first 10 pack Legendary guarantee applying 3 times.
Having a pack tracker makes these much easier.
I just pasted the log in a text file and ran a few linux commands to produce 3 files, imported into Excel and made a quick table pasted above.
e.g.
for REGION in NA EU ASIA; do
grep $REGION packlog.txt | grep Dragons | cut -d ',' -f 2,3,4,5 | sed -e 's/\*//g' -e 's/ Dragons(//g' -e 's/)//g' > $REGION"_dod.txt"
done
Good points

Agreed. Saves me from having to unpack the client files and parse them for the changes - this is a brilliant thing that Flux does.
Another great article.

No worries - we all cake them :P
Do you (or he) mean NDA?
DNA makes it sound like he's under forensic investigation.

Those situations are what I save my reroll for :)
woah that's amazing!
Great guide!
Have to try this - I think you only understand the power of it by playing it :)
Packed Varessa but never used her - maybe it's time!!!!
I'm only 2 cards off this list - I think you might have given me the internal excuse I need to craft!
I got Marin's treasure for 2 Rags, and used upgraded spellstone on them :P
PERSONAL PLAN
step a) Don't get hopes up.
step b) Be pleasantly surprised due to having low expectations
step c) Profit! (i.e. play more Hearthstone)
You know how every once in a while you get a lucky game where you know you are supposed to win.
BY FIRE BE PURGED!!!!

This deck has lifedrinkers - was that the list you played? What was your W/L to legend if you don't mind me asking?
