Though I respect your right to hold whatever view you wish, we clearly differ on this issue. I also wouldn't consider my post as to suggest a conspiracy (dumb or otherwise).
They've changed the quest probabilities and this will lower the average reward. Unless I am mistaken these are both facts the first of which the development team publicly acknowledges. I merely suggest their explanation is a nice sounding version implying it's to help people, whereas in fact it's to lower the average reward. 10 gold isn't much, but it mounts up over weeks and months potentially adding up to an adventure per year (not expansion).
I can't explain this to someone face to face due to current social distancing/contact restrictions. Sorry about that - have a great day.
Perhaps I am overly cynical, but I suspect the notion that they are concerned players must have plentiful access to "easy" quests and a significant proportion of the player base is desperate to avoid evil "difficult" quests (e.g those near impossible play 1 of 3 classes 3 times win or lose quests), is likely a nice PR friendly way of saying they'd prefer to lower the quest reward averages.
As you say, if it were truly in line with such concerns on their part, it wouldn't be hard to ensure 50g quests were guaranteed available owing to reroll of any 60g+ quest (and this is already supposed to be the case anyway).
Also the post only mentions rerolls. Nothing about why I now see primarily 50g quests filling a new slot each day before any reroll.
They want to sell packs and make money I get it - but don't PR BS me please. I worked in big companies for 2 decades and had enough of that to last 10 lifetimes.
Be honest - something like "We fixed a bug that resulted in a higher than intended average daily quest reward". OK fine - bummer but at least we got a higher than average reward for a while. No need to PR BS us like we're stupid.
Note to self: you are getting angry about PR BS from big companies. Lockdown is affecting you. Go and sit in the back garden and listen to music or something.
I'd like "difficult" quests please Team 5. I'm rerolling "easy" quests, but it's not working out for me at the moment!
I also don't understand why the above quests are "easier" than just playing 3 games win or lose choosing from 3 classes. They seem more effort than the "difficult" quests.
Additionally the reddit post specifically addresses rerolls. That doesn't address the fact I've been seeing way more 50g quests as my new daily quest across my 3 regional accounts.
stealth nerfing quests seems like a pretty BS move from blizzard (I also got much more 50g quests than before)
I think they would consider it a bug fix since I assume 50g was supposed to be the weighted quest type all along.
Certainly in the old system the lowest quest reward was the most common, and I doubt that was supposed to have changed this time. We were probably lucky to get 60g default for so long.
Again I don't have any proof of this, it's just what seems to fit best here.
OR the more likely situation, some of you have just been unlucky in your awarded quests lately.
Certainly I'm careful not to claim my personal experiences are statistically valid proof of anything, but I've seen a marked and clear change since the patch, and not just on 1 account but all 3.
That and this thread posted about the same issue at the same time here, and one on another well known HS forum with similar experiences.
I'm currently concluding the 50 v 60 bias has been changed deliberately, a state which may or may not have been the intention all along.
I'm more than prepared to be wrong though (and hope I am).
You were not guaranteed 60g quests. I play on 3 regions so see 3 quests (or up to 6 with reroll) each day and occasionally got a 50g quest (which I always rerolled to 60g).
But 60g was the most likely - and 50g was rare (for me at least).
Since the patch now I'm primarily getting 50g each day and 50g with reroll. I'm reluctant to assume my experiences (and tiny sample size) applies to everyone and is indicative of a change, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was.
Happy for this to be a bug but I suspect it was actually what it was supposed to be all along.
edit: rereading this post I overused parentheses. I won't do it anymore (I am lying).
Hey man just created this account to say thank you for inspiring me.
I am usually a renolock wild player at around 15-10, but when I read your post I got reminded of my time starting hearthstone when I was mainly a druid player (my first goal in hearhtstone was a golden malfurion). After reading your post I picked up a dragon druid list and modified it too ad some cards of my own liking trying to see if I could hit legend (My highest rank ever has been 6).
First of all it really sparked back some love for the game playing my old favorite hero again which for that alone thank you. I had a load of fun playing druid, the higher I got the more I also started winning matchups I was previously losing (Quest mage especially started as an instant loss but the last few days I managed to get an 75% winrate against that deck). But besides all that, after 2 weeks of grinding I managed to hit legend with my own build of dragon druid. This felled unbelievable to me, I never thought I would hit legend but your post made me feel like it was believable and I just went for it.
When I started this game I promised myself one thing, if I ever hit legend I will craft my first legend deck fully golden, and thanks to the hall of fame rotation dust, I now have a fully golden dragon druid deck that I will always keep as a memory of my first time legend.
Bit of a long story, but this is my way of telling you what this meant for me. Thank you!
My friend.
In these very hard times, small positive things are to be seized upon and treasured.
I am SO glad my story inspired you to strive to achieve your goals. Not only that but you got there!
May your story inspire the next person. And if it does, I hope that person writes to you with half the eloquence of your post so that you can enjoy that feeling I have right now :) :)
You even made an account just to post! Your post means a lot to me - thanks so much for taking the time to write.
You Sir/Madam deserve a large modicum of kudos, which I hereby bestow upon you. Please walk around basking in that glow (keeping sensible distance from others of course).
Take care and stay safe Mr/Ms Golden Deck Legend Player :P
On second thought, this doesn't seem to be likely as reviewing the Challenge a Friend thread on a different website doesn't appear to show a sudden increase.
Coincidence it is then. None for like 1 month then 3 at once lol
I've had a Challenge a Friend quest on all 3 regions in the last day or so. Probably coincidence of course, but I wondered if anyone else had noticed anything similar.
Perhaps a server-side quest bias was changed to make this more likely in order to combat challenges to morale in these difficult times.
Probably silly for me to suggest it but I'm stuck at home bored :P
<whisper>dapperdog remember mate I am trying to get Ramming Speed nerfed to get dust refund, I need you onside for this, please don't publically call it bs even though we both know it is. Cheers </whisper>
You only get your monthly golden epic at Diamond 5 and above.
FYI you can click on your rank and get a ladder rewards overview:
edit: now seems to be a video in the article showing this. If it was there when I posted this and I missed it - my apologies!

2 of my 50g quests rerolled into 50g, 1 50g rerolled to a 60g
I am noting that now new quests are much more likely to be 50g, and rerolling 50g often results in a new 50g quest.
Not addressing rerolling 60g into 50g (which you are right is intended to be 100% chance).

Took a few tries to get boss down, and I'm not including the game where my coop player fireblasted me in the face on turn 2 (*sigh* *concede*).
But does make a nice change to work with other player then desperately trying to kill them.
Well yeah but this is so much better. Why? You can put TWO in your deck!!!!
But don't :P

Do not open your pack (unless you have all classic commons, rares and epics) until the duplicate protection hits!
Lots of great news coming out of Team 5 recently.
But this isn't amongst it :(
Ah well - take care Whizbang. You truly were wonderful!
