  • These changes seem pretty good. It's especially nice that we will be able to complete quests in Tavern Brawl or Battlegrounds now. I simply don't like the state of the ladder and it feels bad to be forced to play there for the quests. My only question is if the update is coming this week or on December 15th. Regardless, it's good to know that i won't be forced to play ranked anymore to complete quests when it's in a horrible state. Some freedom of choice is really nice.

  • You don't know me and i don't know you. Stop assuming you know anything about me just because of an statement i made. I apologize if what i said sounded like i was making assumptions. I know that everyone suffers disconnections but, in my experience, i have never seen something as consistent as this. It's not like it happens randomly. No, the game just kicks me out as soon as i finish a game. Have you never had something you wanted to do being interrupted constantly by stuff completely out of your control? Don't tell me that you don't feel at least slightly irritated. It's a normal human feeling.

This wouldn't be this annoying if it wasn't for its insane consistency. And this is exacerbated by the awful state of the ladder. I'm tired of dealing with Demon Hunter, Face Hunter and all sorts of aggro decks all the time. And then the game just consistently kicks me out at the end of every other game where the experience has already been miserable. This is probably what is pilling up the negativeness within me. And it's not like i can stop playing for some weeks while waiting for some balance changes. I can't afford to lose on any experience in this new system. I'll lose too much experience and too much gold which will set me behind a lot when the next expansion comes out. I'm trying to stop spending money on this game and i need to grind a lot because of it.

  • This has been happening ever since the patch with the new system was released. It never happened before. And i already did all sorts of checks to see if the problem is my connection. It's not. Also, none of my other games or applications suffer from such problem. I can log in and play Legends of Runeterra for hours without any issues. This isn't a problem that's happening only to me either. There are other people suffering from constant disconnections. It's on them and they need to fix it.

You are not suffering from it so you don't understand how incredibly annoying it is to have to reload the game every few minutes just to be able to do a quest or simply to have some fun. I have never seen anything like this in any other online games that i played. It's bizarre the kind of problems that affect this game from time to time. If this keeps happening i'll have to stop playing because this seriously irritates me to the point of making me want to punch something. And i'm an incredibly chill person. It's that obnoxious.

  • Nice that they are fixing some things but this is far from enough. I'm still having constant disconnections. This is happening even during games in adventure mode. I'm not even getting any achievements or anything. Yet, the game feels like disconnecting me every other game which is so obnoxious and infuriating!

Well no. The problem is the cost of the hero power. Raza Priest was not a tier 1 deck for many months when Raza got nerfed.

If the cost of the hero power is truly the problem, tell me any priest hero power that would be broken costing 0 mana that isn't Shadowreaper Anduin's HP. Because as far as I can tell Raza was absolutely dead while nerfed.

I'd prefer they deal with Anduin (make it deal less damage, let it not target face; whatever) and allow raza to at least combine with something like galakrond.

Or idea ive read few months ago, make it refresh on only minions or only spells but noth both for Anduin

I was reading through the comment session of a recent video of Zeddy where he talks about the cards that he believe should be nerfed and i saw a guy make a suggestion that will save both cards. He suggested that Raza's effect should be this instead: "Your first Hero Power this turn costs 0". I do believe that he misspelled the text and that he meant "Your first Hero Power each turn costs 0". This solves all the issues without killing either card. It weakens the OTK potential of the deck, it prevents infinite damage OTKs from randomly generated Coldarra Drakes, it keeps Raza's functionality for every other Hero Power and it could even prevent potential future abuse with other cards or Hero Powers through Auctionmaster Beardo. This seems to be the perfect fix for the whole problem. I still highly dislike Shadowreaper Anduin but both cards should be fine with this change.

  • Well... I just hit level 27 in the rewards track and got the Ashes of Outland pack. Normally, this would be really bad (and it is for the vast majority of players) but the pack gave me Ysiel Windsinger. This wouldn't be anything special if it wasn't for the fact that i also received Lady Vashj from the previous Ashes of Outland pack in the reward track. So, i was one of the lucky enough people to not be screwed by these otherwise really low value rewards. I still think they should change it but i'll take it.

I just hit level 25. Got the Totem... The frigging Totem... So i got nothing on level 25 as i have no use and no interest in this card. Getting legendaries completely at random like this is starting to feel terrible because i'm already used to the Wild Cards and freedom of choice in Legends of Runeterra.

The devs really should think about just giving us arcane dust as a reward instead of a random legendary. It would've been better if the level 25 reward was 2,000 dust or something, so players can be free to craft whatever they want, whether they be one legendary and an epic, four epics, etc. I got Deck of Chaos from level 25 which is just terrible (threw it in my Cubelock deck for Wild where it's still a terrible inclusion).

In fact, the level rewards should be much more diverse and generous like the old legendary quests we used to have. Remember quests that reward us with a pack, dust, and gold at the same time? Getting a single pack at level 28, an AOO one that just gave me 40 dust, is really depressing.

I feel you on Grand Totem Eys'or. If you'd gotten it earlier maybe you'd have enjoyed it more, since it was really dominant in the first week. I got it from a golden pack, so I can dust it whenever I want :P

I agree. It's such a simple solution. Just give us some freedom of choice. Let us decide what we want and if it end up sucking later then it wouldn't be their fault as it was our own choice. A risk we took when choosing our cards. The way it is right now alongside the absolutely terrible value for disenchanting just causes a lot of players with a limited collection to lose a lot. A random legendary only matters for completionists and people who invest a lot and can play with any class.

  • That is only for Bronze through Gold ranks. Hyper aggressive decks like this nearly always do well in the bottom ranks. It's around Diamond 5 and upwards that things become tough. The meta report always speaks about the Diamond ranks (which are considered the absolute lowest in terms of competition) and upwards as it is focused on competitive play.

  • An update. The game still disconnects me from time to time. Today it did immediately after finishing my daily quests. This happened twice in a roll. It's completely bizarre at this point. Again, there are no issues with my internet. I already disconnected then reconnected cables, turned router off and on and everything else is perfectly fine besides this game. This really gets on my nerves. I'm probably going to file a ticket in the support so that they check this themselves.

  • I don't understand why people are so focused on Raza the Chained when the problem has always been Shadowreaper Anduin. That hero power shouldn't deal two damage. Priest has access to way too many cheap cards and card generation and they brought a ton of spell discounting in this set. Anduin can do truckloads of damage all by itself thanks to its refreshing hero power. It has always been ridiculous. As far as i know, Raza wasn't an issue before Knights of the Frozen Throne. The hero card pushed it over the top. If you use Raza with any other hero power it's simply unimpressive. Gives you a lot of flexibility in your turns but doesn't break the game in any way. Anduin's hero power should deal one damage only. The deck would still work but Spawn of Shadows becomes a requirement. And Anduin itself won't be able to just kill you with hero power. They would need cards like Mind Blast to support it. That should put cut the power of the archetype without the need to obliterate Raza from existence.

For standard, it's Demon Hunter and burn in general that are an issue. Neutral healing has been at an all time low since Zilliax was rotated and that prevents classes without heavy healing from being able to play a longer game. They need to tone down sources of damage that come directly from hand. What was the point of rotating Leeroy Jenkins if they just keep printing more and more direct burn?

  • Even if the meta slows down (which i doubt), the deck still lacks a way to survive incoming pressure. Priest won't just do nothing. They have plenty of strong cards to apply pressure and it isn't uncommon for Priests to copy cards from the opponent's deck. They will use Tickatus against Warlock players as well. And Priest has better tools for recovery and stabilization than Warlock. Control Warlock has too many weaknesses.

  • Did the community rate Tickatus well? Not really. It's another one of those cards that are highly overhyped and end up not doing well due to a number of reasons. The first two times i played against a Warlock with Tickatus i lost 10 cards and i still won by simply hitting them in the face. Warlock lacks survivability and fatigue isn't really a win condition nowadays in Hearthstone. In contrast, everyone was shitting on E.T.C., God of Metal and it turned out to be a really solid and consistent win condition for Control Warrior. The report from Vicious Syndicate indicates that the deck could become stronger than Soul Demon Hunter which is astonishing.

  • I just hit level 25. Got the Totem... The frigging Totem... So i got nothing on level 25 as i have no use and no interest in this card. Getting legendaries completely at random like this is starting to feel terrible because i'm already used to the Wild Cards and freedom of choice in Legends of Runeterra.

Edit: Tried the Totem today. I was only missing one Splitting Axe (bye bye 400 dust...) so i decided to test it even if i don't like it. The card itself is probably the best support ever printed for the totem archetype. The deck sucks though. Lost 4 times in a row against a variety of decks. Vicious Syndicate posted their meta report yesterday and they said that Totem Shaman is starting to struggle already. It's early success was derived from the fact that the meta is in complete chaos and full of suboptimal decks. Now that other decks are starting to become more refined and the meta is slowly stabilizing, the deck's flaws are starting to appear again. It just crumbles when it can't establish a board. Most of the decks out there fight fiercely for the board and the only stickiness of the deck comes from Totem Goliath. The card is still too slow. The buff made it less awful... but it still sucks. This deck really has no other path to follow. It doesn't have other card options or ways to switch and adapt its strategy. It seems its only destiny is the dumpster tier.

  • I have been playing with a Shuffle Tempo Rogue to give some use to my golden Grand Empress Shek'zara and it is quite fun but not great. I managed to use Shek'zara once to fill the board with Plush Bears from Ticket Master and that gave me the achievement where you need to draw 5+ cards with her so that's pretty good already.

I'm also playing an extremely greedy Hunter list with mid sized beasts and Guardian Animals/Beastmaster Leoroxx. I was unfortunate enough to open two copies of Don't Feed the Animals so i needed to cook something to use it. The card itself is pretty bad/slow. The lack of proper card draw in Hunter really limits any usability for the hand buff. Guardian Animals is very impactful just like in Druid but Hunter has to play fair with it and wait until turn 8 which makes it unimpressive. It's fine but not great. If you pull a Tundra Rhino with it, it can create a decent amount of surprise damage and that characteristic is exclusive to Hunter. Trampling Rhino is simply great and should be explored more. The win rate of the deck is positive (pretty shocking) but i don't have faith that this will keep happening.

  • Zai is another case of a good legendary that is completed wasted in DH because the class is so good at aggression that it's always the best way to play regardless of the meta. Value cards or late game bombs (Nethrandamus) ends up only seeing play in short lived experiments that only last a few days.

I opened a golden Shek'zara and i still have to test it. I don't have much hope. The card seems too slow and Galakrond Rogue doesn't need it. I'm going to try a tempo rogue with some deathrattle synergy to see if i can get a lot of value from Ticket Master. With enough tickets even Shek'zara can cause an impact on the board.

Most of the legendaries with a positive deck winrate seem to be used for aggressive archetypes. The exception seems to be E.T.C. which is seeing play in OTK decks. He should also fit well in a tempo based deck as a win condition but it will take some time for people to drop the whole OTK thing and start looking at the card from another perspective. Also, this is another card that people were disregarding completely during the reveal period and now he is doing better than other cards that were hyped a lot more.

  • I'm still going to check and see if things are better today. I have already spent some time playing Runeterra and i had no issues with that game. I'm gonna log in to check the quests and see what i can do.

  • I don't know what is going on but the game is constantly disconnecting me whenever i finish a game. My internet connection is perfectly fine. Absolutely no issues while navigating or playing other games. The weird thing is that it always happens at the end of a game when an achievement pops up. This pattern has repeated several times. Whenever a game ends and an achievement is earned i am disconnected from the game. This is really pissing me off. I'm trying to finish one weekly quest and the game keeps kicking me out of it. I keep having to reload the game after every other match. I suspect that the client does this just to update the achievement tracker or whatever. Is anyone else going through a similar issue? I really needed to speak. My nerves are bursting because of this right now.

  • So that's what was happening... This isn't fine at all... It should update whether the cards are corrupted or uncorrupted. This makes the process a complete slog. Also, playing the old gods 10 times has been next to impossible already. The games aren't lasting all the way to 10 mana. The quest updates normally and it's not their fault that the game's are too fast but i wouldn't recommend bothering with this one if you want to complete your weekly quests without playing for 5+ hours each day just for this one quest.

  • Quote From dapperdog

Anyone had the unfortunate experience of not finishing up their weekly quests? I really would like to know if you still get 3 of them at the start of the week, or if its just 1750xp wasted.

I didn't finish the 7 ranked wins quest last week because i didn't feel like playing a long time on ladder at all. I got only 3 wins while completing other quests. The quest carried over with 3 wins to the next week which means i probably lost a ton of exp in the process. Doesn't bother me that much because i'm not going to bend over and do whatever the game wants me to do when i don't want to but the short answer is: Yes, you will be severely punished if you don't submit to the game's demands.
