I don't have any images to share this time around, but after hoarding about 280 hourglasses, I opened a bunch of packs from this mini-set. Currently at 60/68 cards, with the headliner of those missing probably being Gyarados EX.

Still, I've done quite well within the 30-33 packs I've opened: immersive Celebi EX, holographic Mew EX and Aerodactyl EX, plus some full-art cards for Serperior, the new Exeggutor, the new Vaporeon, Dedenne, and Marshadow. I have three full-art Vaporeons, actually, so an extra one for consideration when trading becomes a thing :)

I hope Elden Ring: Nightreign doesn't fall into that "Live Service, Dead Within a Year" category, but it sure seems like it might be D:

The lady on the left in the hero-walk image is definitely a Siren; the question is: is she the Seventh Siren, someone who inherited the powers of one who fell in a previous game, or are they retconning that "limited number of Sirens" tidbit? Oh, and inb4 someone complains the Vault Hunter ladies don't have big enough boobs, or whatever.

Had a really bad day, ordered a pizza and bought a key for Path of Exile 2.

"Hehe, I'm so quirky, with my lack of self control." - Me if I was a movie character.
"I think I might have a problem with impulsiveness." - Me...talking to my therapist in real life.

Came close to buying into Path of Exile 2 earlier today, after learning you actually get something out of it beyond just a key. Trying to "stay strong" and "endure", as Sinti would put it, and wait until the game is totally free to give it a go - I have 364 hours of playtime in PoE1, but I didn't enjoy it thoroughly. At least the whole "must slot gems into equipment, hope your good equipment can hold them" situation is gone, thank God, but still: no need to drop $30 for an unsure bet as-to whether or not I'll enjoy the game.

Thus, I continue on with BG3: currently in the Underdark with the full team. Found a couple mods I'm happy with, and it does help make things interesting:

    1. Party size is scalable, so I have everyone from Act 1 plus my Tav. Will add the remaining "major" companions when I get to that point later: Minthara, Jaheira, Halsin, and perhaps Minsc too. We're gonna be a roaming warband!
    2. To go with the above, the difficulty is also being scaled based on my party size, to make things more sporting. When enemies have bonus health and actions, they become a lot more dangerous D:
    3. I modded out negative approvals - now they don't pop up at all unless they're positive. Juggling everyone's approval was going to be next to impossible, so I'll just ensure everyone stays happy and doesn't bail on me.
    4. Lastly, I have the "Underwear of Rituals", which does what it says: puts Ritual spells on your underpants, an otherwise useless bit of clothing gameplay-wise. Now I can Speak With Animals, Speak With Dead, etc.; on everyone regardless of their class or whatnot. More a convenience mod than anything.

Also playing Marvel Rivals now that that's officially released; there are several new characters to try out, which is cool...but also new asshole-players to deal with. I don't remember anyone being a jerk in the beta. But on day 2, we've already got those "you suck, uninstall" type people: I encountered one in a Practice Versus AI game, of all things! Just shut the fuck up and let us mess around with our characters in a no-stakes environment, for crying out loud.

I have to recommend the Mistborn Deck Building Game by Brotherwise games.

My aunt bought that - it was pretty fun. Do you find Vin wins all the games? That's been our experience so far lol.

In other news, I went to Millennium Games - the biggest board/card/tabletop game store in the US - on Black Friday and bought "ISS Vanguard". It's about a crew working together on humanity's first interstellar spaceship. As mentioned before, the game is 4 players only, and our game nights are regularly 5 people, but I figure I can be the "storyteller" and general helper person to the others playing the crew. So hopefully that'll be fun!

Congrats on your Platinum, anchorm4n! Hades II should hopefully see full release sometime next year, so don't let your skills get too dull hehe :D

Echo repeatedly tells me "yeah dont buy new things finish ur older stuff", so...here I am, reinstalling Baldur's Gate III. Maybe the third time is the charm for actually seeing the game to completion? Time will tell lol. Mods could be a fun avenue for heightening the experience and maintaining my engagement. Not anything too drastic, but still worth a gander.

Frankly gotta chill with my purchases for a bit...but we'll see how long that lasts. If Marvel Rivals isn't Free to Play (a possibility with all current and future characters being apparently free/accessible), I might buy it anyway next week 'cause it was so much fun during the beta.

Reviving this thread because I ended up pledging to something on Gamefound that I think is really interesting: it's an Awaken Realms game, but with a 5-player limit this time lol! Lands of Evershade is a hybrid of RPG tabletop systems and an adventure board game. You use a Player's Handbook to form a team of characters, then head out on a campaign of stories.

    https://gamefound.com/en/projects/awaken-realms/lands-of-evershade

I pledged/bought into the Special Edition and the two other adventures available, which amounts to the Core box's campaign + 5 expansions in total. Gonna pass on the $70 Creature Box and just stick with the standees for enemies, but at least the players' characters will have great-looking miniatures. There are other add-ons I won't partake in, either, like metal coins and the acrylic pack, so that saved me a pretty penny.

Won't see it until 2026, so that sucks; the nature of crowdfunding, I guess *shrugs*

Finished Dragon Age: The Veilguard, with all achievements. I rather enjoyed the game, and still believe the flak was overblown as fuck lol :/ Might consider having another run at it, as a Mage this time, streaming the game so my sister can watch. She's one of those people who'd rather experience the story from the passenger seat; she doesn't get much out of playing video games.

This is a massive shift announcing stuff this far out. Like apparently the names aren't even all finalized. I wonder what drove this decision.

It was all a part of the Warcraft anniversary super-event video; I doubt this will become a regular thing. They just want to get people hyped and stay on-board.

All this to say that I will probably be working on this mod until the day I die, but c'est la vie its been fun so I don't mind it. I know some people cough Link cough have tried it and not been a fan, but the game has a very generous demo so I'd definitely recommend atleast taking a peek.

Why play the game when I can live vicariously through you and your adventures in modding? lol :D

I've heard the currently released Hades 2 version is already bigger than Hades 1?! Did you enjoy it so far?

It's quite large, yeah, and I honestly think it's even better than the first game. Supergiant is puttin' in the work, and it shows.

Got kissed by Yogg and pulled some insanely lucky boons in Hades 1 this weekend, beating the game on 16 heat for the first time. Now I only have to level all the trinkets to max to earn my first every Platinum trophy 😍 The third Skelly statue is something I'd really like to unlock as well but I heavily doubt I'll ever manage to do 32 heat. Maybe I'll check out some youtube videos to get a better feeling of what it takes to do this.

Hey, that's awesome! I never got around to dealing with Heat that much, so you're technically farther than I am :D

Now it's time to play Hades II haha

After getting into Civilization just a little bit ago, I've finally won my first game of Civ 6 on the normal difficulty just a couple of days ago:

Science Victory is always the way to go, in my opinion. Quietly relax in the corner building your Research, moving through the ages faster than others before you drop the W* on them. Don't engage anybody in conflicts if you can help it, but if they mess with you, your superior technology will end the problem.

    * Fun fact: The W doesn't mean "Win"...it stands for "Warheads".

I bought Dragon Age: The Veilguard today, mostly because I think it will be fun but also possibly out of spite against the "anti-woke" diatribes out there. Not making any promises regarding a review: I'm struggling to enjoy stuff once it becomes a "task" in my mind, so I will just...play the game, enjoy it as best I can, take pictures now and then, and go from there.

On a similar note, Pokemon TCG Pocket drops worldwide tomorrow, and I'll give it a gander.

Surely Quasar is stupid, right? You don't draw any cards from it, needing help from other sources to get them back. Imagine getting hit with that from Yogg - you might as well concede.

Seems nice...while I'm over here debating if I should leave the game for good (again). Not because my wallet is mad (this time), but because I'm not caring for the "obligation" of playing every. single. day. to keep up with my collection in this Snap economy. An economy which might become more perilous, with limited events, more stuff to want; a "SUPER PREMIUM" pass?! Because that's what I wanted: having to spend more every month to get everything D:

I don't know...the game is still fun, but I struggle with the daily grind of Live Service games. Marvel Rivals is probably gonna be like that too, ain't it? There's only so much time in my life for Daily Missions.
