I've won off that card as well.  I wasn't aware that it actually had an "Expedition only" version called "Accelerated Purrsuit"....that gives me hope that they will balance more cards for expeditions.

And to reply further, I agree that it feels easy-ish to play 15 different cards.

Huh, really?  I've had pretty good success with Heimer.  I've found that Heimer is a great tempo generator as he turns your spells into minions, so you can draft spell heavy decks.  He works particuarly well with Demacia, since Demacia has a lot of spells that generate units a well so you can double down on spells/removal.

Oh I understand they are tempo inefficient, and not saying my experience is holistic of everyone else's.  I try to make sure my deck isn't top heavy, but it's just problematic when you have non-interactive, non-counterplayable components like shroom spammers.  That much I think we can agree upon.

Figured I'd be honest in the title.

After playing almost nothing but expeditions over the last 2 weeks, I've come to the conclusion on two things.

    1) Elusive is broken when able to be spammed.  Nothing new to the forums, it's a counter intuitive mechanic that forces people to either draft elusives in their trials, or to draft more removal spells than normal.  It doesn't help that removal spells also double as champion removal, and what you get is people building decks with (not joking) 6x Mystic shots (and no, ezreal didnt generate them either, yes that person drafted 6 mystic shots)

    2) Shrooms are FAR too easy to stack.  I've seen people spam shrooms in non-teemo decks and win purely through attrition.  Throw in the fact that if you manage to hit with an upgraded teemo JUST ONE, you're pretty much guaranteed to lose to that Teemo deck.

There's just no coming back from a deck of 22 cards, that have 50 shrooms.  It's just WAY too easy to stack shrooms in decks.  The number of shrooms on the cards needs to be reduced.

    • The Mushroom Burst card that inserts 5  shrooms ---> Changed to 4 Shrooms.
    • The Mushroom Peddler card that inserts 3 shrooms when you cast a spell needs to either have his stats nerfed or his effect nerfed.  A 3/3 with a spell effect like that is far too strong, especially in decks that can stack shrooms or have a goal to stack shrooms.  He either needs to be a 2/2 (or possibly 2/3) or the effect needs to be Insert 1 shroom instead of 3 (and he can keep his 3/3 stats, but even then I think that's still broken)
    • The Chump Wump card that gives you two mushroom bursts in hand.  A  4 cost 4/3 that gives you two mushroom bursts, that synergize with the aforementioned peddler.  Granted a 4/3 for 3 is sub-par starts so I think his stats are fine, but he should only create ONE single mushroom burst, not two in hand.

In short,  in expeditions where you can't guarantee removal, lifesteal, challenger, or elusive cards, it's just far too easy for shroom decks to be abused.   I literally am getting PTSD from teemo all over again (back when I played League) just thinking about the shroom spam and how annoying it is.   Just like in league, it's not a great tactic usually (i.e.. constructed) but it's such an annoying strategy that it boils down to player reactions.

Someone plays the correct burst spells and destroys a minion, or survives my minion's damage.  That's skill,  and play/counterplay options like that in Runeterra is fantastic.  Definitely a better interactive play style than Hearthstone.  But affecting players cards has been always will be a "feels bad man" moment.  Inserting shrooms that you can't do ANYTHING about, even if they are delayed is a horrible balance decision.  It's most likely balanced in constructed, cause I don't see a ton of teemo/shroom spammers there.  But in expeditions It's decidedly an unfair situation...which brings me back to my title.

Either teemo/shrooms need to get reworked, or special balancing needs to occur for expeditions given that Legends of Runeterra is more finely tuned to snowballing out of control than other current card games.  /end rant.

Not sure if this has been discussed anywhere else, but I came across a fun end game combo in an Expedition yesterday.

It got me to 6 wins (sadly wasn't able to win the 7th).

Ashe + Karma (Enlightened) On Board

    + Winter's Breath

    =

GG.  A board that gets destroyed with a single spell cast, and if by some magical reason they don't.  They can't block with Ashe (leveled up).

Anyhow, what are other fun combos or stuff , that despite it being hard to pull off may be fun win conditions for you guys?

I know I'm late to the party here but as someone still relatively new but spending a lot of time playing I feel like I can weigh in now...

Elusive (as a Runeterra keyword) and "Evasive" (as the Hearthstone unofficial keyword that they refuse to actually make a keyword...lol) they actually have fundamentally opposite designs which I find very odd but fundamentally I find them trying to fill the same niche.

In hearthstone "Evasive" is associated with units that are "untargetable" by spells, but can be targeted by "play"/"battlecry" effects.

In LoR it seems that the devs created Elusive as a form of anti taunt.  Since "Taunt" doesn't exist and every unit can block damage at will, I think they figured on creating an "anti blocker" card.  except it's warped the meta.  Instead I honestly feel like it's Runeterra's version of Hearthstone's charge keyword. (easily abused, overused, etc).

Honestly it feels almost overtly obvious that they change Runeterras Elusive to be similar to Hearthstone's.  Make units untargetable from spells.  However, the way the game is coded I get the feeling that would also indicate "spell like effects" (aka play effects).  So I'm unsure how well this would work out, but I get the feeling it would work out better.  Obviously changing the way a mechanic works is a hefty chore, but something does need to be done.

Probably should create a new thread at this point but...

How feasible is it to fully unlock the vault each week?  I've been playing since last Tuesday and pretty much done all quests/ pvp'd every day and I'm at the tier 12 vault, but it seems kinda tough to fully unlock the vault.  Is it X number of games a day and completing every quest each day?

His effect is a battlecry, so you won't be able to use any other effects after the fact,  he needs to be buffed in hand prior to being played.

Yea I like the crimson/vlad thought of the deck, but I don't have vlad or any of the crimson cards and very few noxus cards.  I think my first free legendary champion I got that wasn't handed to me was Anivia.

So I played some more and used my first expedition token last night.

I ended up going 3 wins on my first trial.  My final loss was to a guy who had Ashe and a TON of frostbite synergy to the point that I couldn't do anything against him.

I drafted my 2nd trial with Shen and Thresh.  Not sure how good it's gonna be but it has a lot of "revive" synergy in it.

What's a good number of wins for each trial? It looks like 12 wins is the total between both trials?  So I'm assuming 7 wins is the "break even" point?  (Is it similar to Hearthstone where if you get 7+ wins you essentially can re-buy an arena/expedition?)

Craft...decks? So how do I do that? Are there pre-built decks that I can craft or am I missing something here?

Also, zoolock/aggro has never appealed to me.  Is there a good semi-control deck that is viable for low cost crafting?  I liked the Braum/buff deck (plus I always liked Braum in LoL).  Is there a decent Braum/Friejlord deck that is viable for low level usage while I'm still learning the game and stuff?

So I installed the game last night.  I do see some underlying issues with the mechanics but it does seem fun, and it brings back some memories of the fun I had in League of Legends with some classic champions.

Given that, what are some good cards I should craft with my wildcard tokens I've earned?

Also, someone mentioned mechanics that conflict with each other.

Also, what are expeditions? Is that like the equivalent of Hearthstone's Arena mode?

I'm still trying to understand how certain things resolve. (spells, attacks, etc).

For example the tutorial mission where you use overwhelm to kill the nexus with specific cards, it wasn't very intuitive on the attack order, I just naturally assumed units attacked left from right, but it didn't clarify that anywhere, so I felt like I was just randomly using the order of cards until I completed the tutorial "mission" so Draven leveled up and killed the nexus.

Yea I understand the reveal is today,  so no worries.  Just when you get a moment if you want to share more in depth feedback that would be great.

As the title implies, I've seen a few images and videos of the game, but my interest is piqued regarding the game.

What are some draws to this game versus Hearthstone? (As someone who has played HS since it's beta)

I guess I'm asking for Pros and Cons.  How easy is it to gather a viable collection as a casual player versus Hearthstone? (I buy the 80 dollar expansion pack in Hearthstone each expansion, I'm fine with that, but want to get a comparison on cost analysis between the two)

What are your favorite moments of Runeterra?  Also, I don't plan on stopping Hearthstone, I think they both are probably fun games in different ways, but I'm curious if it's worth investing both time and/or money into Legends of Runeterra at this time.

    Thanks in advance!

Priest looks amazing.  Glad to see they reduced costs on a lot of the cards across the board.  I'm honestly floored that they introduced a new class,  does this mean we can expect more future class releases?  Adding additional classes is bound to cause balance issues, so does this mean Hearthstone is getting revived/more funding from papa Blizzard?

I feel like this raises more questions!

    Quote From Majere

Over 24 hours and still no fix, in fact not even an official acknowledgement that there's any sort of issue. The combination of sloppy testing, combined with the ninja update (effectively lying to your customers) is just one more illustration of how comprehensively blizzard are managing to screw things up.

    What a joke.

It's getting to the stage that, when  a new update is announced, I've stopped getting excited about the prospect of new features, rewards, etc., and am simply resigned to the fact that blizzard are going to screw up the game for the next few days.

Perhaps then, you should stop basing your life around patch notes then, yes?  24 hours and no fix! OMG Better alert the pentagon that a company didn't fabricate a fix in less than 24 hours!

The only thing that IS a joke is your expectations that companies deploy non-critical fixes in less than 24 hours.  It's very easy to see when people (like you) have no idea how the software industry works, and spend their time complaining about *literally* everything.

Want a positive takeaway?  Try to be grateful a little more.  Be grateful you have internet, heating, a house, a mobile phone to screw around on at work, a job that pays you well, food in your belly.  How about you stop acting like an ungrateful little cretin and you'll find that things like small bugs in video games just don't bother you as much anymore.

Agreed.  It's very misleading as it makes it like Gnome is the one making those comments.

On a side note, man "pro" players and casters really are a petulant entitled bunch aren't they?  It's atrocious the behavior the gaming community has cultivated as "normal".

Uh is MrGnome trolling the blizzard representative?  I feel like if you're going to have someone represent your site they should maybe not be so snarky and condescending in almost every interaction with an official employee of Blizzard.
