And here I was, feeling safe that Exodia Mage won't make a return because Mage just lacks the card draw to make it happen...but I guess they have different plans. Combo is back on the menu
I don't get why people hype this so much. the minions are really basic for 1-mana and it's not like they scale or anything.
RNG is also just like Animal Companion, meaning 1/3 of the time you migt just get screwed. Demon Hunter will run because they want 1-drops, but I don't see what Hunter would do with it that isn't also accomplished by more consistent cards
that pretty strong. It's also a great tool for any minion that benefits from attacking immediately (and we haven't even seen most of the Hunter cards in this set)
The interaction with Kreen is a bit silly, seeing how he doesn't make himself immune and is likely to die to whatever you attack, making him more of a one time effect
play 2 Sorcerer's Apprentice (4 mana) + Potion of Illusion (2 mana) + 3 1 cost 1/1s (3 mana) in total 9 mana. then you should have 2 fireballs from last turn or any 4 or less cost spell and you spam fireballs.
while that sounds plausible you have to consider that:
a) Mage doesn't really draw as well as it once used to
b) any combo Mage is vulnerable to being bursted down since no more Ice Block (the main reason no real combo deck has been a thing for a while
c) you're talking about a 7-card combo that needs at least 2 turns of set up: one for the Adventurer (the easier one) and one for the Antonidas one, which is essentially skipping a turn and leaving yourself open (which is extremely hard to do in the current meta seeing how even slamming down Alexstrasza is a chore these days)
Also, I don't get why you think Sorcerer's Apprentice is the issue. Mage has always been about discounting spells and throwing out lots of them. Archmage Antonidas is the real culprit because he provides infinite damage. Rework Antonidas (or replace him like Velen) and you won't have to worry about Exodia MAge in Standard ever again.
a) they added a new draw card last expansion, they still can draw from other sources.. mage has decent draw options.. yeah I know Acolyte of Pain is gone.
b) still have a lot of freeze.. that's why combo decks normally have 45% average win rate..
c) the secound path (the one with the apprentices.. let's you cast Frost Nova and some other cheap spells while setting up so that way you don't skip your turn as much.
discounts are the problem not antonidas whenever a class is problematic mana cheating are the problem.
antonidas is a balanced card without the ability to discount spells.
but that's what I mean. Antonidas by himself would be balanced...but so would Apprentice without Antonidas.
It's very clear that spell discounting is a huge part of Mage's identity and gameplan and they have no intentions of changing it. So either they never print any combo support or they just remove Antonidas, because his only purpose is to pop up whenever another degenerate combo rears its head.
And here I was, feeling safe that Exodia Mage won't make a return because Mage just lacks the card draw to make it happen...but I guess they have different plans. Combo is back on the menu
This is just solid, isn't it? You can'T really build a deck around it, but it's cheap cycle so if there's some sort of endgame for DH this will help.
It also helps chaining stuff off Altruis
The worm has returned...only it kinda sucks now.
JUst friendlies is a big downside and I have yet to see an actual gameplan for Token DH
If this was dual class card i would love it in Quest Hunter, but it's not so I'M sad
This would put a tear in old Genn Greymane's eye.
too bad only Demon Hunter will use it in standard

Guess who's back
back again
(in spirit at least, this isn't nearly as broken as Flamewaker, but I guess that's a plus)
NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS AT ALL. NOT LIKE MAGE GOT A 1-MANA SPELL DAMAGE GUY AND A WAY TO REDUCE HIM TO 0 BEFOREHAND.
Yeah, have fun seeing this a lot in Mage. If you throw in Khadgar as well it's like Conjurer's Calling was never nerfed
It's a good amount of stats and it can snowball hard, but I think it might be too slow overall
The way it worked with The Beast Within is that if you used it on a minion ready to attack it would not be able to attack again that turn.
The onlny way to " double attack" is if you attack regularly with the minion and then used the spell
I'm assuming this works the same.
Basically, make sure you use all your minions before you attack with your weapon.
It's a nice way to get spell damage for Spell-only Mage. Also Cyclone bait.
that's....new?
I'm really not sure how good this is seeing how plenty of neutral spell damage minions are utter garbage.
that would be absolutely broken. Just a free extra attack from King Krush and whatever you have on the board at the time.
inb4 it gets hall of famed because it's "too common"

I can't see this working..
I don't think Hunter can build a midrange deck without including some smaller beasts
Druid could, but it would have to be something like Embiggen, which ruins the synergy with this.
just had to ruin it with (5) or ess clause, didn't you?
I'm assuming there's going to be some beasts for this in the yet to be revealed cards, but I'm not particularly hopeful at this point.

Remember that one DH card that costs 6 and summons a demon from hand, that everyone sad was way too slow to see play?
Well....guess what we're gonna see a lot more of
I feel personally attacked that they wouldn't print this as a dual class card.
GIVE WARLOCK SOME BIG DEMONS GOD DAMMIT
