Now, as much as I love my meme cards that have no purpose other than to amuse people....why do you put those in the mini-set? Like...you have a whole expansions to put this in as filler, there'S no need to jam it into the miniset that's supposed to actually shake up the meta.
At this point I'm only missing 2 legendaries and I have a bunch of task chains still open so they'll most certainly come around eventually, so this seems worthless.
It's kinda weird how Mercs is actually very F2P friendly if you put in the time, but if you don'T have a lot of time to play it it'll just take forever (and judging from how fast they are already pushing out new mercs, it'lll get harder and harder to keep up without buying packs or spending money)
Read Deep Freeze text again (It can't target friendly characters)
Welp, goes to show how much I cared about the card before. I guess that could make it somewhat playable although I wonder how a deck that requires to make it to turn 8 to then maybe bully their opponent with Water Elementals would ever make it into the meta.
Also might end up being a relevant tech card depending on what happens in the future. We haven't had a true Beast counter since Hemet and he was shit. I guess this means there'll never be a Moonfang meta, how sad.
Maybe if Parrots are really popular Quest Warrior just runs it because it's a Pirate with an occasional upside.
Acutally insane Control Wariror tool. Right now Warrior really struggles in the Aggro Druid matchup if they BAttleguard + Taunt on 2, because Minefield doesn't fully clear. This removes the uncertainty. Also pretty good for dealing with wide boards in general while still focussing a single threat. Too bad it doesn't solo kill Oracle of Elune
Might be the thing that pushes Pirate Warrior over the top in Standard, as well as unify their builds (since you want more weapons with this). Absolutely gross off of the Quest reward as well.
Here's hoping that this helps push the OTK decks out of the meta.
Very good in Questlock because that deck struggles to deal with singular minions (outside of Shadowbolt). Can really help with curbing early aggression without having to rely on Rend Soul. Might be difficult to consistently activate though. Could easily be redundant also. At least it'S nice to have Questlock support post-rotation.
As of now there is not enough token support for Warlock, but this at base is already playable and if you ever have the luxury to trade it it'S a very strong enable for any token synergy. Don't sleep on 1-mana summon 4. If there was a reliable way to find this after trading it you could do some nasty stuff with Shady Bartender
Has the same problem as Bolner in that there just aren't enough positive-only battlecries to repeat. This has the slight upside of actually being able to replicate self buffs like the Arid Stormer one and being able to Fireheart on two turns, but that'S about it. Really bad if you can't perfectly plan out your curve.
Don't see the point of the effect. Garrote Rogue doesn't need it. Maybe it's useful in Quest Rogue to fill out the curve and set up more efficient combos on the follow term (that deck often has slight mana issues when it comes to using their cards efficiently).
The real issue is that a 2/2 weapon isn't all that valuable in the current meta. Not a lot 2-health minions worth dealing with (outside of Intrepid Initiate, who usually goes to a 4/3 quite fast)
Sounds like a pipdream. 5-mana is a lot and you can't rely on setting up a board before. The fact that it hits face is nice but I fear that most of the time you actually want this to hit minions.
Sure, there's theSin'dorei Scentfinder or Rodent Nest 2 turn set up, but how often is that going to be a thing? I'm getting ever so slightly frustrated with this trend of the miniset just giving a bunch of disjointed gimmick cards instead of actual support for existing archetypes.
Maybe if the parrot allows you to copy Rat King and you can get a bunch of those out.
Kinda hoping I'M wrong on this because I like the idea of a Beast deck with an actual gameplan other than hoping not to run into a single boardclear.
Team5's usual design motto is to have a few cards that help existing archetypes while the majority is for new archetypes.
There is currently a beast hunter deck that uses wolpertingers and pack mule along with plenty of copy cards like Northshire Farmer and Dire Frenzy and I can assure you its not merely a meme. You have plenty of reload, so board clears aren't really going to do much to this deck.
Oh I've played the Wolpertinger deck. I actually came up with it myself and only realized afterwardss that someone already had the exact same idea. Thing is...that deck doesn't actually end up filling the board up that much. You usually space out the Wolpertingers as to not die to a boardclear. If you don't need to worry about boardclears you usually win with the beasts and the Blastfisher would just be overkill. as of now there is just no token based Beast deck with an actual gameplan other than hoping your opponent just lets you set up a bunch of rats.
Again, maybe I'm wrong and this is just the final piece that the Wolpertinger deck needs to break into the meta, but it just looks way too slow
Hoping this somehow enables a Shadowpriest deck that actually uses spells instead of just minion beatdown. Alternatively you could use it in the Control version of Shadow Priest as a proactive early play. Maybe midrange Shadow Priest becomes a thing?
There's no way this is any good. To make this worth anything you have to trade it twice and have 3 relevant Deathrattle minions die. Would have been king last expansion, but right now there's just not enough decks worth grinding out like this.
Maybe next year when both Quest Mage and Warlock drop down to tier 4 through losing most of their overpowered enablers we go back to some Control Priest/Warrior shenanigans where this obviously shines, but until then this is filler (unless somehow this makes it into a Shadow Priest build with the Dethrattle shades as some sort of a lategame gambit, but that just sounds bizarrely convoluted)
Looks to be a natural fit for most Paladin decks. Each one of them runs Hand of A'dal and plays it at some point. From there on this is a 5/5 that draws a card. Not overly strong, but really good in the current Paladin decks
Seems excessively pointless. The best you can do is Mask of C'thun into Mask again (Deep Freeze might freeze your own stuff, Flamestrike is pointless in this meta).
It really bums me out that after an entire expansion of Mage doing the same Spell-only shit with no other archetype even close to playable they still lowball the actual minions that could help them out. I get they design these expansions in advance, but how do you not look at the state of mage and go "maybe the minions shouldn't be complete garbage".
I guess we just have to wait for more big spells in the next expansion
So on paper this is really strong if you have a decent DR pop before turn 4. The only one around currently is Nerubian Egg, which has no other support, so that falls flat.
There are also no relevant big deathrattles as of now. Darkmoon Tonk seems too slow and the payoff isn't even that great. Would have been a really sick card last year with Nine LIves still around, but right now it's just pointless outside of Duels.
The one thing that could possibly work is the Rodent Nest combo, but even that...how does that win you games? Just spam Rats until your opponent gets bored and leaves?

Well, guess we haven't seen one of those in a while, what a throwback.
Terrible card though. like...seriously, why does this cost 8? It would need to deal at least 20 damage for that to make sense.
Oh well, that at least means that Rogue and Shaman are getting legendaries this miniset.
At this point I'm only missing 2 legendaries and I have a bunch of task chains still open so they'll most certainly come around eventually, so this seems worthless.

S-tier shitpost.

Still holding out for that Beast Druid deck that doesn'T involve token spam or doing nothing for 4 turns.
