So this is going to be a bit difficult without a straightup spoiler, but what you're looking for is only 50% horse…the rest is…man….but like…they're fused together. Also it's a champion.
design and balance go hand in hand. Do I need to remind you that some of the worst metas (far worse than this one) happened under Brode, and weren't dealt with until months into the expansion cycle.
People keep talking about powercreep, but Gadgetzan Pirate Warrior would still reliably shit over most of the current meta without issue.
Just remember cards like Duskfallen Aviana and Harbinger Celestia. Actual filler cards with no purpose. At least nowadays meme legendaries have a useable gimmick, even if it sucks.
Ben Brode's vision was "lol, nerfs are dumb, let the players deal with it".
As much as the new devs get flak for their questionable decisions, at least they're actively trying to innovate and aren't afraid to make mistakes along the way.
Smite might be a nerf target, so you'd be getting your investment back. All the other legendaries are playable at the very least (and might be a lot stronger in the future). In order to get all the commons and rares you'd still have to spend a decent amount of gold on packs so it's better to buy (with gold) than to try and get it from packs (at least not unless you commit to never crafting any of the legendaries)
So first of all: Tech has evolved. This proves that multi-target is now a possibility without RNG which opens up a lot of design space (I smell a future keyword).
Second: This is actually good. Slow, but good. This is a fantastic Control board swing that allows you to deal with a lot of board states without having to rely on RNG, which is massive. Sure, control might have a hard time at the moment, but that could always be subject to change (and will change by next year)
Competes with Kazakus, which makes it really questionable as of now (might change if Rogue keeps getting good 4-drops). Consistency is also an issue, since you probably can't build your deck to guarantee this effect proccing multiple times.
That being said, a self-containted Auctioneer that comes with fat stacks if you get the train rolling is nothing to be laughed at. Hell, in certain matchups you can probably get away with Shadowstepping him on turn 4 and then popping off on the next one.
I really like that this clearly isn't meant to be some degenerate combo tool but just a classic mid-game powerplay. I could see him in Quest Rogue if the deck was able to run a lower curve (which would require more SI:7 cards). I feel like he'd be really sick with Scabbs if you can somehow set it up.
If he didn't give himself charge he would be a worse Tundra Rhino (a notoriously awful card despite a technically insane effect).
The only problem (if there even is one) is that his stats are too big, specifically his attack. That being said, if he does become a problem they'll probably just shave 2-3 attack off him and he'll be fine. 6-mana is no joke, especially when games can end on turn 7.
Blizzard: "Let's get rid of charge and replace it with rush. Charge is such a hard mechanic to balance and creates uninteractive mechanics"
Also Blizzard: "jUsT kIdDinG! wE bRoUgHt BaCk ChArGe!"
I actually disagree. At some point in the past they made a lot of very questionable decisions of "this is not happening" which have lead to...confusing balancing choices.
Remember when they said Shadow Priest wouldn't be a thing because they couldn't figure out how to make damage in Priest work without enabling OTKs? Well, if they hadn't gone back on that we wouldn't have Shadow Priest now, which is arguably the most interesting direction the class has gone in. The game evolves and stuff that was busted 2 years ago might barely be relevant nowadays. I see no problem in occasionally testing the waters and just throwing out crazy shit like this. Sure, it might backfire and be horribly overpowered, but at this point they nerf stuff within a week so I don't see the issue. As much as powercreep is frustrating to experience, I'd still prefer it over total stagnation or a constant stream of unplayably weak gimmick archetypes.
Looks massively overrated outside of the fact that it has Charge itself (which is most likely the first thing they'll nerf, if it does turn out OP). In an aggro deck this is at best a minor Leeroy replacement (arguably worse because +1 mana which is very relevant). Honestly, a lot of problems in the current meta stem from the fact that direct damage is surprisingly hard to come by if you have to build your deck around minions,, which is part of the reason why the degenerate OTK decks are allowed to get away with all their shit. I'm actually interested in what a more late-game bursty minion meta would look like.
Not to mention that minion aggro making a bigger return (as opposed to just burn damage) could actually enable dedicated control decks to return, since the only reason those aren't around is because the playerbase insists that Quest Mage is a viable deck despite statistics proving the opposite.
The only problem with this is how bonkers it is off of The Juggernaut. It evokes flashbacks of Dr. Boom randomly discovering the perfect hero power every turn.
If only Captain Hooktusk wwas around to see it. Could have been glorious...and really broken.
So, uh...we're just printing stat sticks for Shaman now? Sure, I'll play it, but it seems excessively boring. Also it has anti synergy with all the currently used weapons. Wouldn't want to override a Doomhammer.
Probably better after next year's rotation when Cagematch Custodian goes away.
Maybe there's some weird heal Shaman coming in the future and we just don't understand the significance of this yet.
I can't be the only one whose mildly disappointed that they're just reusing card art for Mercenaries at this point (although I wonder which came first, the card or the merc?).
Oh well, if that'S the case then I hope they'll at least have the decency to take all the merc portraits for the classic heroes and add them to future battle passes or something. Gimme sexy demon Valeera. Me want.
I'm just missing the 2 runeterra ones now. Thanks for the HS hints! I give candy as payment 😁🍬🍬🍬

Alright so these are really easy.
The cavalry one is pretty obvious, just check the spooky region until you find something that looks close enough to…well…cavalry.
The other one is a bit trickier if you aren't familiar with the character. Essentially you're looking for an explosive card. Also, "twice" is a big hint here. Look in one of the more goofy regions, not the serious ones.
Alright so the Death Metal one is easy. Just think of any character that might combine both music and….well…death. They're from a more recent set.
The headless part doesn't refer to a card, but rather, as the clue implies, a costume of sorts. I'm sure you'll figure it out that way.
Can't help with the first one though, I have no idea what that one could possibly refer to. I don't remember any voiceline that's close to "trick or treat" or really any female character that speaks some sort of incomprehensible gibberish.
So...I'm not even gonna bother with the Magic ones, that game has waaaay too many cards so searching off these clues is just the proverbial needle in the haystack. I thought I had the vampire one, but apparently a stake is not what is referenced here....curious.
Also stumped on the Trick or treat one. I feel like there's a lot of cards that can be described as "not saying trick or treat".
Bold to assume anyone even plays this shit. The matchmaking is beyond awful, the meta is so skewed towards speed manipulation that you basically cannot win without it and apparently the actual playerbase beyond the dedicated few at the top is comically low. just today I matched against the same guy 4 TIMES IN A ROW.
Honestly, until they make some serious efforts to rebalance either the matchmaking or just the characters in general I don't think there's any point to even try doing anything other than farming bots to get the rewards up to 6000.

Sounds foreboding....

Also, sick with the Shaman Parrot.

oh my god, I had her in the back of my mind the entire time, but I just didn't make the connection so I didn't bother to check.

yeah but if you play Bolner and then two parrots without having played any battlecries previously it should loop infinitely
