Reign of the Black Empire Card Reveals - Day 7 [Finished]

Do you remember? The seventh reveal of September? Well here you are now. Sadly, today there's no earth, nor wind, nor fire, because there's no Shaman cards.

Instead, today focuses on Warrior. Warri or what? We don't know the alternative, but today is focused on those red cards.

We have a whole guide on everything about the expansion right here, and every card in one place right here.

Reign of the Black Empire Reveals for September 21

Hammer of Archaedas reads like a token, but it has a rarity gem on it. This might be a mistake.

  • Arcaedas - Just a solid card that will most likely have its effect curtailed by vipers. Theres really not much to say other than play it because why not. Most of what it'll be doing is removal anyway, so expect to see this in control more than aggro, because theres really not that many warrior spells that actually put stuff on board anyway.

Setesh - The only good thing about this is that you can play this and not die. In fact, you'll play this in all warrior decks because not dying is good, and if your opponent doesn't chip away at your armour, you basically turn that insubstantial armour advantage into a minion that will very likely demand an answer.

Animator of Iron - Its honestly way too slow to be useful even to control decks. The high cost means you'll very nearly never be able to hold on to play this alongside something to gain value from it, and at turn 3 it'll likely get value traded by everything that isn't a 1 drop.

Anvil of Reshaping - I like that its basically heroic strike, but will you actually spend 2 health to do 4 damage to something? Perhaps you play this in hyper aggro dragon warrior, windpeak wyrm into this does 9 damage to your opponent after all.

Brassknuckle Brawler - You will never see this outside of discovers or random effects because no one will bother playing a gameplan to preserve armour just so they can maximize value out of this card.

Tol'vir Vanguard - Its an auto include into control but elsewhere I suspect it'll prob be down to whether forge of origination is completely busted or not. Its really not that good a card outside of control decks, despite the armour synergies because essentially it gets value traded by everything under the sun, and if youre taking the initiative you would want stats on board, not wimpy minions like this one.

Stone Gauntlet - Speaking of armour synergies, one other reason why vanguard isnt that great is probably because this card exist. Its practically giving you prerogative as to when you want to trigger the armour synergy cards. The only negative about this is that youre not really gaining any health, more like sac health to trigger synergies and thats not always a positive.

So warrior, decent cards. At least warrior isnt shafted, but theres not yet enough evidence that control warrior wouldnt just be egg warrior plus. I mean, its nice and all to play some form of control but nothing here is a win-con, and theres no obvious reason to build either harold or old gods alongside it.
