The Latest Hearthstone Patch Puts Invoke Cards in the Random Pool - But Only if Galakrond is in Your Deck

Update: This has been reverted until a later patch release when they can get it fixed. No more Invoke in random pools for the time being. (Source) The text below has been preserved.

A welcome change for Galakrond Decks was put into place in Hearthstone's 17.0.0 Patch - Invoke Cards can randomly generate! This will also work if you've managed to steal or clone a Galakrond and it became available in your hand or board.

However, there is currently a bug! This bug puts Invoke cards in the random pool for all decks. The team is working on a fix.

Quote From Chadd Nervig

Saw some questions about Invoke cards getting randomly generated… There was a change to this in 17.0.

Pre-17.0: Invoke cards aren't in the random generation pool.
Post-17.0: Invoke cards are in the random generation pool, ONLY if you're a Galakrond deck.

Update: The above is the intention, but it looks like there's a bug with this, and it's including Invoke cards for everyone, not just Galakrond decks. We're working on a fix, sorry about that!

what if you aren't a galakrond deck, but burgle a galakrond and play it?

Technically, it cares about Galakrond ever being in your deck/hand/board at all. (Source)

  • Buff Galakrond but nerfed Discover... hmmm

  • So it's a buff to a specific type of deck.

  • Update from Celestalon - editing post momentarily.

We'll be hotfixing this back to how it was soon, until we can get this working in a later patch.

    • oh nooo. I mean, if you must...

  • This is a buff to Galakrond Priest, who's all about generating cards. I've already had a Fate Weaver generated today off a turn one Disciple. Didn't know they were excluded from the pool until now. Thought I just got super lucky. Very nice change for priests.

  • Good news for my Thief Priest deck!

  • This has been a long time coming! Thank goodness

  • i get two gala card as pally on arena so i think they just broke something

  • is this really a welcome change?  I don't think gala rogue, which  has two invoke spells, needed to be more consistent.

but I suppose thats more of a rogue problem than an invoke problem.

    • For Galakrond decks it certainly is a welcome change.

Everyone else though? Yeah, I can see people not being too happy about it :D

      • It reminded me of those brawls where you use to get a randomly generated deck with no synergy what-so-ever, unless the RNG Gods smiled over your for that entire match ; here's some C'Thun buff for your ... nvm, just the statline!

        Friendly
  • Oh so it's intentional? That's great news for galakround decks specially priest!

Shaman got nerfed enough this is ok I think.

And Warrior doesn't have that many discover/random generation.

Rogue can get more insane now..

Warlock doesn't have many discover a card outside of lackeys or Twisted Knowledge

  • I feel like the same change should be made for C'Thun decks

    • I was about to say the same thing!
