Darkmoon Duel-fest begins! The first-ever Duels tournament by Blizzard, starts on the hour and has a $200,000 prize pool up for grabs.

Quote From Blizzard We’re excited to announce our first ever Duels tournament, Darkmoon Duel-Fest! 24 of your favorite Hearthstone creators will compete for a piece of a $200,000 prize pool on November 24, from 10:00 a.m. PT to 4:00 p.m. PT on Twitch.tv/PlayHearthstone, YouTube.com/Hearthstone, and their own respective channels!
Darkmoon Duel-Fest will utilize a brand-new format we’re calling Last Duelist Standing. In this format, competitors play through 3 closed-circuit Duels runs until either one player remains, or one or more players reach 12 wins. Players are awarded 10 points for game win, and once a player loses 3 times they are out for that run. After the 3 full runs are completed, individual scores from each run are combined to make a player’s final score. These final scores will be the decider for the event’s results and prize pool, and additional prizing can be earned for being the “Last Duelist Standing” of each run!

I wish casual duels wasn't a thing and that the barrier of entry was lower for Arena and Duels. And Battlegrounds ($20 a season!). And, with all the talk about the Hearthstone economy, the barrier of entry should be lower for constructed as well. These modes are all at their best when more people are participating. I would describe myself as a casual whale, and I'm done paying for $50 pre-orders three times/year. I don't want to play a CCG simulator, I want to play the game with access to all the features, i.e. cards. They go to great lengths to create unique memes/cards and new modes, and then most people don't even get to enjoy them. I've been playing consistently since just before GvGs release, and I'm planning on taking a LONG break once I hit level 50 this season. Unless the economy gets revamped, including Arena and Duels, I'm probably not coming back next expansion cycle.
You can play Battlegrounds and casual Duels entirely for free, so I'm not sure what on earth you're going on about.

I agree. I used to tune in to parts of tournaments, but it’s all lost its allure to me. Seems to be a general lack of enthusiasm amongst the “pro” crowd, but that could just be my own interpretation
