MARVEL SNAP's Hot Location this weekend is Hala!

Hala is a game of chicken, if you want to commit to it before turn 4 you have to take into consideration that your opponent might get more Power there and destroy your cards. Alternatively, you could use it as a dumping ground for a card like Electro, The Hood, or Mister Negative, to get the benefit of their On Reveal, then destroy them and lose all negative effects.

However you choose to plan for the Hot Location, you'd better get used to it; being a Hot Location means that Hala will have a 60% chance to appear for 24 hours, from 7 PM PT Saturday night to 7 PM PT Sunday night (2 AM UTC Sunday to 2 AM UTC Monday).

Mister Negative Card ImageOn Reveal: Swap the Power and Cost of all cards in your deck. The Hood Card ImageOn Reveal: Add a Demon to your hand.

Hot Decks for Hala

If you're looking for ideas of what decks you can play to the Hot Location, we've got you covered: with recommended decks for players just starting out in Series 1, players still moving up through Series 2, and players who are starting to fill their collections with cards from Series 3, 4, and 5.

Series 1 Odin

Our budget deck this week mixes the reliable Ongoing Spectrum package with a little spice in the form of the White Tiger/Odin combo for a different way to end the game. Cards like Colossus and Armor work well in Hala, if you're worried about losing your investment there.

Series 2

This deck from Series 2 combines Devil Dinosaur with Destroy effects, which is a popular deck choice in general at that level of collection. Bucky Barnes can be played to Hala, forcing your opponent to decide whether to contest and keep you from getting a free 6 Power there - but if they do, you can always flip the tables on them with Deathlok cracking him open and destroying their side in the process.

Series 2

If the name of the game is surprise flips, there isn't really a better option than Jubilee. This deck packs itself full of big bodies, running Domino to ensure a turn 2 play that doesn't mess with Jubilee's consistency. There's also a small Odin package with White Tiger, Ironheart, and Wolfsbane.

Series 3

Series 3 is where the omnipresent Death once again rears her head. This destroy deck uses destruction to buff its Deadpool and reduce the cost of Death (and Hala will help with that), so that the last turn can involve an explosion of power using Deadpool, Death, and Taskmaster.

Series 3

Our last featured deck uses Hala specifically to unburden itself of the negative Power borne by Mister Negative, so it can swap its cards without suffering the downside of being an extra 1 Power behind in a key location. The deck is full of 0- or 1-Power cards that become super cheap after the Negative swap, and if you don't find Mister Negative you can use Sera for a similar effect.

What are Hot Locations in MARVEL SNAP?

There are two different types of location events in MARVEL SNAP.

  • Sunday's Hot Location that have a 60% chance to appear for the next 24 hours.
  • Wednesday's Featured Location that have a 40% chance to appear for the next 48 hours.

Unlike the Featured Location (which is always a new Location), Sunday's Hot Location will pull from the pool of existing Locations. Its increased appearance rate will shake up the meta for a day - for example, Odin was the finisher of choice for many players when Kamar-Taj was the Hot Location.

Have your own strategy for capitalizing on the Hala Hot Location? Make your deck using our MARVEL SNAP deckbuilder, then share them in the comments!
