New expansion announcement - how many gold do you have? Prepurchases?

So today will Blizzard probably announce the new expansion (see more here: https://outof.cards/hearthstone/150-are-the-league-of-explorers-taking-on-the-league-of-evil-expansion-teaser)

Also, it will be probably League of Explorers themed (more here: https://outof.cards/hearthstone/151-expansion-speculation-where-are-we-heading-to)

I'm excited.

How many gold you saved yet for the next expansion (me - from daily quests like 4850 gold)

I believe we will get an update with the new cards for classic/basic sets together with the preorder for new expansion.

And what do you expect from the preorder? Will you preorder?

  • I don't want to be pessimistic but, the previous expansion we had a lot of teasers before having the trailer (one for each member of the EVIL team). I'm pretty sure they will do the same thing here with a lot of little teasers before the trailer. I trully hope I'm wrong because I want that trailer so much too !

    12 000 golds, but i'm saving since a lot of time now, my number grow by 1000 every new expansion (I was at 11 000 for the previous one), I just buy 70 packs and use dusts to craft what i need since i already have classic set completed ! No preorder, like always.

      Mike Donais did tweet that the teaser video was an "announcement of an announcement" which should mean that we will get the real expansion reveal today, with trailers and everything. I'd be surprised if the set goes live before August though. So a bit over one month for saving gold.

      I personally have a bit over 13k but a good chunk of it has been there for a long time waiting for some sort of sudden need for gold, whatever that may be.

  • Unfortunately I don't have any stopped playing when rise of shadow's was comming out. Started playing again about a month and spent all my gold and half of my dust to catch up with the rise of shadows. Didn't pre order the last two expansions but this one I might. This second expansion its going to hurt my wallet :c

  • I have a visa electron ready for action

  • I'll probably end up with around 4k gold when the expansion drops + the preorder bundle. Which I usually buy, unless it's priced in a ridiculous manner.

  • 4K just now but probably 5k by the time the expansion drops.

  • 2800 dust and around 1000 gold at the moment. I was hoping Blizzard would have the event they had this time last year where quests were giving gold and dust but it hasn't happened. I never really worry and just buy around 200 packs and craft the rest.

  • Expected 2k gold until the new expansion arrives.. had to buy some ros packs for dust :)

  • 2k gold and 22k dust

  • I got 1.9k gold and 24k dust. I might also buy a prepurchase deal - if it is more or less in line with previous deals in terms of value.

    Pretty sure we got around 1.5-2 months until the next release, should be enough to amass a good sum of gold for packs.

  • 500gold and 17K dust. Just finished the Dalaran heist during the weekend, would've been at 3300 gold if not for that 

  • about 9k Gold and 5k Dust :)

  • I have not yet started saving gold. Maybe the time has arrived...

  • Is the next expansion even that imminent?  The last wing of the solo content for the last expansion was just released a couple weeks ago.  I figure we are at least 8 weeks away.  Still lots of time to save.  That being said, I do really like the pacing this last expansion brought.  The delayed release for the solo content, the arena switch ups, the card buffs, and even the one by one opening of the wings really kept things fresh.  It's actually quite amazing that we're even close to new expansion season again!

      Last year the announcement for the summer expansion (Boomsday) happened at July 10th.  They've been similar timings for other summer expansions.

      So yes, the next expansion announcement will come between now and about a week from now or so.  

      And yes, that's part of the trip of this last set.  The release schedule of teh Heist, the nerfs, and the buffs all resulted in us not having time to really get bored before the next expansion. I'm seeing a good few others getting surprised that we're already at the station for the HYPE TRAIN.

       

      As far as the OP, IIRC, abtou 3600 or so gold and 6k dust. But we have another month to save which gives another 1500 gold and we typically get around 10 packs free in various places, so I'm set for getting about 60 packs, which is where I aim for in pack collecting.  Also if you are F2P you can use the first month of the expansion for more packs, so that's another 1500 gold or 15 more packs.  

      ...which is good because I just realized I'm close to the pity timer on the last set so I really should open a few more packs there to finish up.  

       

      I will say this though, if they have another big single player content like last time I'll have to bow out this time I think as i don't think I'll have the gold to get a full expansion AND enough for the fall set.  Meh.

      The last three years, they've barely varied the release schedule: August 11 2016, August 10 2017, August 7 2018. So we're probably only about 5-6 weeks away.

  • I have no doubt that the next exp won’t launch till late Aug. Between the latest mechs change, now the new classic cards, and the build up to the expansion, I think there’s just enough juice to keep people playing till end of August. With that said, midsummer fire festival would really light the community up and keep everyone content until next Exp launch

  • Oh shit i haven't realised that August is only one month away - and therefor the new expansion is almost here!!!

    So far i have 3K gold and my VISA ;) 

     

    I realy hope for League of Explorers because i realy liked the old expansion and some of the cards - so personaly i'm very excited!

  • I'm at 2200 dust and 100 gold so i guess its time to start saving!

  • 14000+ gold, ~26K dust.

  • +6k6 gold, and as always i will spend 6k and keep the rest for the third expension of the year. (Also +55k dust)

    My visa card should rest for this one !

  • My NA, EU and Asia accounts are all around 3000 - 3500 gold and 15K - 20K dust.

    All are f2p so won't be buying packs with real money, but hopefully they should hit 5.5K - 6K on expac launch and after progressing to the next pity timer on each account will just stop buying and use dust for anything super important (depending on what I pack/new meta etc).

  • I had more but I was dumb and bought some packs recently.  Sitting just under 3000, will likely get a $50 pre-purchase bundle, or perhaps an $80 bundle instead if one exists and has good extra value.

  • No gold saved yet, since I've been concentrating on obtaining all of the RoS legendaries (mission accomplished as of a week ago).

    I will most likely get the pre-order though and probably start saving gold from now as well.

  • Not near enough... probably going to end up pre purchasing this one. Damnit Blizz, you figured out how to get my money.

  • ^Yeah, it's pretty clear that they're strategically drip-feeding small changes to keep the game&meta fresh. Nerfs here, buffs there, Dalaran Heist, a wild Sn1p-Sn4p appears!, etc. Spreading out the release of the Heist over 5 weeks also really helped tide people over. While I have my complaints (quite a few!) the devs are doing a great job at keeping players engaged.

  • 0 gold about 20000 dust

    I stopped playing after  a couple days from the launch of the previous expansion. I realised that i  would no longer enjoy hs no matter how many breaks i would took and simply unistalled.

    Not going back at least for now either.

  • 4k gold for now. I am counting on the Midsummer Fire Festival to help us greately. Btw I am not going to buy any packs with real-life money, but reading some of the comments here, I can't help but post this YuGiOh parody video. Enjoy:
