Discard Quest Warlock

Hello All!

I love the Warlock Quest and I'm sure if you're here you do too. When playing around with it I was having an issue with filling my hand and no longer being able to tap to draw more cards. And so I turned to the dark art of discard! *gasp*

Utilizing the new Saviors of Uldum card Expired Merchant as well as one of Rastakhan's offerings in Reckless Diretroll I gave myself the ability to easily clear handspace in the early game to help complete the quest at a better pace. Then using Soulwarden in the late game to regain those Fel Lord Betrugs and Plot Twists that we discarded early on for hand space. In fact this actually turns our Soulwarden into a pseudo tutor for one of the powerful combos available to the deck.

Speaking of Combos there are a few here to dissect:

-Augmented Elekk + Plot Twist = You're Bread and Butter against Control Warrior. You will probably need to pull this off multiple times in order to have enough gas to survive late enough. I'd recommend mixing this combo with the third one in this list to really go deep.

-Fel Lord Betrug\Dollmaster Dorian + Plot Twist = These are the two most potent things the deck can do. Allowing us to create a board out of nowhere to fight back against the opponent.

-Archmage Vargoth + Plot Twist = This combo is something a little different from most lists and can be the saving grace against aggro. Allowing you to cycle through up to 16 cards on a single turn, this combo is sure to get the quest reward online and start you off on your mission to drop huge threats without spending a dime.

Substitutions

-Impbalming: This card used to be the classic Siphon Soul and to be truthful I think the best form of this deck runs Siphon instead. However, Impbalming is a necessary evil in order to beat the early Mountain Giant

-If you find yourself against a ton of Aggro I would recommend bringing in Shriek or Soulfire instead of Expired Merchant these cards keep the Discard gameplan alive while dealing with the faster decks well. I'd recommend Soulfire against the Rogues and Hunters and Shriek against the Tokens and Zoos.
