Quest Warlock Uldum
- Plot Twist Warlock
- Wild
- Theorycraft
Hello folks, this is my first deck, I don't expect it to be particularly powerful since its main purpose is being a fun deck to try some new cards.
The strategy revolves around Supreme Archaeology, the new warlock quest, as such there are many cards to help us complete the requirement in the painless way possible.
Plot Twist is extremely powerful in that regard since it allows us to draw a lot of cards in just one turn. It also synergizes well with Aranasi Broodmother.
Questing Explorer is a very promising card for any quest deck, this is especially the case with warlock since she directly helps us get the upgraded hero power.
Once the quest is completed we have to make sure to use the upgraded hero power, Tome of Origination, to our advantage, in that regard there are some win conditions that actively make use of the hero power.
1)Ra combo
If we manage to draw Glinda Crowskin with the hero power we can summon Highkeeper Ra, the combo is the following:
- Play Glinda Crowskin for (0);
- Play 6 Mogu Cultists;
- Kill off Glinda Crowskin with Demonbolt (0-mana Siphon Soul works aswell);
- Play the last Mogu Cultist from your hand and summon Highkeeper Ra.
There are some ways to shuffle Glinda into our deck, maximizing the chance of getting her through the Hero Power (Baleful Banker, Plot Twist), our best bet is obviously to wait until our deck is empty to shuffle her using a Baleful Banker and use the hero power right after, notice you can also play Glinda>Banker>Banker actively putting a soft taunt on the board while shuffling both Glinda and the Banker in your deck so that you don't have to sacrifice any piece of the combo.
2)Rafaam
Against an aggro deck we might want to play Arch-Villain Rafaam, putting a huge taunt to stop the early onslaught while also making sure to give us a deck of good cards to draw with the hero power.
3)Elysiana
Another possible win condition is Archivist Elysiana that allows us to delay fatigue damage while also giving cards to discount with the hero power. She also acts as a counter to Bombs and Hakkar, the Soulflayer
Possible Inclusions:
Portal Keeper and Portal Overfiend accelerate the completion of the quest, since they shuffle Felhound Portals that essentially make us draw 2+ cards in a turn without considering the hero power.
Fel Lord Betrug and Dollmaster Dorian are very useful in combo with Plot Twist especially with the Reborn cards.
UPDATE:
Removed 1 Conjured Mirage for Lord Godfrey
Removed both Portal Keepers for 2 Bone Wraiths
Removed both Portal Overfiends for 2 Khartut Defenders
UPDATE 2:
Removed 1 Conjured Mirage for Alexstrasza
UPDATE 3:
Removed both Body Wrappers for 2 Rotten Applebaums

With the current meta, is this deck still viable? I have recently pulled a lot of warlock cards and can almost build this and I wanted to see if it was still viable for ladder climbing?
I had some success with it at low ranks, but I wouldn't recommend it for climbing ladder, this deck is a lot of fun but definitely not a competitive one, despite the abundance of control tools it still somewhat struggles against aggro unless you manage to draw your removals early on.
With the jank version I've built, I've noticed the same thing. I can never finish my quest because I get run over before I can.
Anyone try this today? Any luck?
I tried and managed to summon Highkeeper Ra pretty consistently, I did change some cards however so I'm going to update the guide.
After playing this 10 or so times with your changes I can see why you've had success pulling it off. How has day two been? It's hella fun to play.
I actually think the Mogu Cultist combo doesn't work here, because while your initial Cultist costs (0), Echo copies will still cost (1). Same with handbuffing an Echo minion - only the initial minion gets the buff.
So I guess sadly dump out Glinda, Mogu and Demonbolt for something else. ;'(
It should work this way, once you draw Glinda Crowskin with Tome of Origination:
So, provided you can complete the quest in time and are lucky enough to draw Glinda with the HP you can manage to summon Ra as soon as turn 8 (turn 7 with coin) or use the extra 2 mana for something like Baleful Banker on Ra.
The real challenge of this deck is getting the 0 mana Glinda, so some experimentation is required, if it ends up being too inconsistent I'd consider swapping the combo for other cards.
It should, but I'm skeptical man. xd
Ooo I never thought about Portal Keeper and Portal Overfiend
Very nice addition!
So, about the Glinda combo, tell me if I'm wrong:
If so, you have to get pretty lucky on a lot of axes to make this work. You will be burning through your deck at light speed, so maybe it's more reasonable than it sounds, but having to draw Glinda specifically off Tome of Origination seems like it's going to cause some inconsistencies. Other than that, it's cool that there are other wincons in the deck. Looks like a really solid Plot Twist Warlock, will definitely try it out on launch.
Yes, that's exactly the plan, even if you can't draw Glinda with the HP you can play Glinda, shuffle a copy in your deck and hope your opponent doesn't have removal, since in theory you can do this an indefinite amount of times eventually Glinda is gonna stick on the board and allow you to do the combo (supposing you have ways to kill off your baleful bankers)
Looks good on paper. Can't wait to see if it works out in action
I'm interested to see if it has an application in wild. When you play discard warlock, its pretty easy to cycle your deck with Malchezaar's Imp and Cataclysm to the point where you will accidentally burn through 8 or more cards in a turn. Without Soulwarden you end up with too few cards to finish your opponent.
In standard I usually use an Augmented Elekk before Plot Twist to duplicate the hand while refreshing it. It's complicated but defeats fatigue decks easy. It's basically Dead Man's Hand but for lock. I think this quest might prove to be a little easy and have some surprising synergies with out current warlock cards.
Cool idea. You try to set up a Ra turn by shufflying Glinda with a Banker, drawing her with the upgraded HP and when the time comes, you spam the whole board with cultists, you kill your own Glinda with the Demonbolt and play the 7th cultist.
I like it.
Yep, that's the idea, I haven't posted a guide yet because I might want to make some edits once the last cards are revealed, I can't wait!
