thought LoR is a place where players can't be f**** a****, however it becomes for whatever brainless reasons more and more popular, that players wait each and every round until time (nearly) runs out to make you quit. they won't be automatically marked as "toxic/afk" because they don't wait until time completely runs out to make their play. I understand in some rounds you need time to go through all the options, but not EVERY ROUND!

we need an option to report those players ingame. i play unranked and experience those situations at least twice a week, can't imagine how hard it is to deal with such idiots in ranked....

Just a small thought proposition. It seems like most of the decks being played are either Demacia, or Freijord oriented both regions win the game by spamming the board with big dudes. If you counter this with a death rattle oriented shadow deck with 3 ruinations you seem to basically auto win 90 percent of the time. What do you guys think?

I just was curious about what your favorite cards are.

For whatever reason. Be it because you like the arwork or voicelines or be it because you like the card on a mechanical or power level. 

My personal favorite cards are Katarina, Li Sin, Riptide Rex and Shared Spoils.

Katarina, Li Sin and Shared Spoils because of the gameplay and Riptide Rex mostly because of the artwork. A shark with a bunch of cannons on his back? I like it a lot! 

I haven't face a single Nox aggro deck since. And I admit I stopped playing mine. You think they overnerfed it?

Here we are, I've nearly completed my free to play collection, and can provide a deck for literally every champion in the game except for Fiz who is just kind of irritating lol.

I thought I would try a new series where we talk about the top decks being played and their relative weaknesses.

The variance featured in any card game means that it's possible to que into certain decks over and over even if they aren't statistically played the highest.

So we're going to tackle all of the usual suspects ranging from Tier 1 - Tier 2 based on popular archetypes.

1. Bilegewater Bannerman

A very straightforward list that uses Lucian and mf, in combination with going wide with lots of little dudes and buffing with barriers, and stats

The best counter to this list in on curve removal, deal with threats as they are played which will deny their aggro and snowball potential

Keep in mind rangers resolve is always an option for them and will be played in response to aoe

As for brews, any region will work as long as it's slanted towards control, with pinging effects available to shadow, P and Z, Bilge being the best

2. Ezreal TF

This is the ultimate yoink, control, endgame burn monster, that only has three overt weakness.

The first is just to play so many big dudes that 7 pings off a riptide rex isn't a big deal, deep can do this or freijord

The second is play a bunch of shadow chump that only gains value when they die like in they who endure

The third is play fast and hard with aggro

So there is no perfect brew approach just experiment with these three solutions to see what works best

3. Ash Sej

Thought to be the best midrange list, and it probably is.

It runs a ton of 5 attack creatures, and than draws off trifarian assessor

It frostbites you during combat

And it even has 1 board clear

There is only 1 weakness here and that is haaaaaard control

I'm talking, ruination, vengence, thermo beam, anything that kills unconditionally

4. Deep

Deep plays big dudes, and mills you, and it's annoying but it's also balanced

Damage done that ignores board state is your friend here

Experiment with elusives, burn options, and Ezreal to find what works best

Beyond that will of ionia is still a card and concussive palm so that region is a valid option here

As for trying to out control them that is a very bad option, go with aggro instead.

5. They who endure

Plays a bunch of dudes that threaten just enough damage to possible kills you, and then plays a 20/20 overwhelm

Another list that is designed to beat control, and aggro by draining their resources.

Here I would suggest a solid value midrange brew, play stuff that isn't threatened by their little dudes, but also will win you the game before their trump card gets too big to deal with.

Ash Sej is a solid option, tempo Sej, bannerman variants, discard because they don't have removal for jinx.

6. Burn variants

Burn will always be a thing in legends in some shape or form, because non combat damage is very good against some lists

Therefore the best counter will always be healing, usually whatever you're playing is fine but incorporate 6 - 10 points of healing for a big uptick in wins.

7. Elusives

Always tricky to play against, because winning games quickly go to losing games

Fast speed removal is your best friend here, with single combat being the a real headache the same is true of challenger

You're taking an un-interactive board and forcing interactivity, so Demacia is a solid counter

consider lux, or bannerman

8. Tempo Sej

Plays a bunch of dudes along with yoink and riptide rex

Used to be the strongest deck in the game, and is still very good.

Deep is the best yoink counter

you give them useless cards, think of high synergy brews

9. Darrowing

Nox allegience aggro, with Darius and harrowing as their endgame plan

This list can present a brewing challenge, because you are on two clocks.

The first is you die to aggro because you didn't brew in enough removal

The second is you die to harrowing

Ezreal lists are a great option here because you will be able to deal with the aggro, and burn them down when they play harrowing.

10. Karma/ Yassao

Ionia is very good at disruption, and very bad at hard removal

If you run a list that is good at board development you will win

Darrowing is a great option here, you present an aggressive board state, and even if it gets controlled out

You have harrowing and they have no healing

You'll win eventually one way or another

...Or perhaps more appropriately, "new region + new champions and a bunch of supporting cards", since they have decided to release cards in waves and seem to be downplaying the term "expansion".

• Wed, July 22: Patch 1.6 = 3rd & final RT "big" balance patch; start of Spirit Blossom event
• Wed, Aug 5: Patch 1.7 = 4th & final RT "small" patch; last 2 epic Spirit Blossom quests added
• Thur, Aug 6: HS Scholomance Academy released
• Wed, Aug 19: Patch 1.8 = new region + new cards ("expansion-lite"?); end of Spirit Blossom event

For Rising Tides, the tease season started April 7th with Demacia artwork on Twitter and lasted until the MF YouTube announcement on April 27th--the day before RT released on April 28th.  If they follow that same cadence, that will mean teases should start 3 weeks before expansion: July 28th aka this coming Tuesday.  However between Scholomance Academy coming out in the dead middle of that schedule and the fact less cards will be immediately released in this set than RT, I could also see them pushing the start out and just doing a shorter tease season.  (For context: Ashes of Outland was released on April 7th, so there was just a tiny overlap with the start of RT tease season) 

Never before have we seen such a level of region balance in Legends of Runterra, which necessitates a new ranking system for my region tier list series, we will now be using a simple tier 1 to 3 ranking. Once again ranking are based on two things, the first being the number of OP decks being played competitively, and number 2 is the variety of lists that can be played semi competitively.

Tier 1 - P and Z, Bilgewater

Bilgewater allegience is proving to be the control deck of choice now that healing isn't as useful with the absence of aggro.

There are a number of pinging effects that can be buffed with kegs, and riptide rex is a board clear on a body

Yoink is still great on merchant and grifter offering insane card advantage

As for P and Z, Ezreal is an easy wincon for control decks, and Jinx has been buffed through her followers to be an aggro alternative

Vi and Heimer are still fine, even if they don't have a home at the moment.

Tier 2 - Noxious, Demacia, Freijord, Ionia, Shadow

The big changes here is that the Noxious nerfs have had the region rely more on it's midrange identity, which is very healthy

Freijord champs have been tweaked so they aren't the best in the game anymore

Demacia has room to be the best aggro region again, with Lux being there for control decks

Ionia is just doing it's thing, Zed is fine, Karma is fine and they serve their aggro and control lists effectively

Shadow is still doing it's thing in Deep and They who Endure

Tier 3 - Nothing

If we see a few tweaks to bilgewater allegience and Ezreal and riptide rex - I honestly believe that the game will be essentially balanced

At least till the new set releases

This bitch just won’t die.  With how easy she is to keep alive she feels overpowered maybe if Ionia didn’t have so many saves it would be fine and the cost to recall is a step in the right direction. Drains, vengeance, marking her with vulnerability and sending a unit with enough power to end her several times this bitch just eludes everything. Changing it so only her first spell each round is doubled or maybe even first two spells would still make her oppressive but not a guaranteed win.

tired that I push everything to end the game but Ionia is very adapt to easily stall.

Is it just me or other people having bad karma?

I have to say: I am enjoying this "Spirit Blossom" event a lot more than I thought I would.  When I first read about it I thought it sounded fairly underwhelming, but I just spent the past hour diving in and its really reinvigorated my enthusiasm for LoR.  Even though content-wise its "just" a new lab, new quests, and new reward path, for some reason they feel very fresh.  I think the decision to create the new currency, petals, instead of just recycling XP is inspired--it really makes the event progression feel different from the base game even though its practically very similar.   And these new epic quests are well balanced: challenging enough that you can't just fumble through them with a few games, but not so much that you get discouraged.  The OR/AND stuff is pretty cute too.  I made it through the "Win 4 Lab games" quest, and am about 2/3 through the "Toss" quest.

I haven't bought the season pass yet, but now I'm seriously considering it.

What do you guys think?  I saw the thread about the ephemeral/elusive deck in the lab which I agree is a bit overtuned, but in general I haven't seen a lot of comments about the event overall.

She doesn't make a rocket when in combat.

Basically, pick a deck that has an elusive. Keep it in hand until it's lethal and attack with it.

Pretty sure that's all we'll see while we have this rule. You should just never cast an elusive early. With 30 health it's not even worth it.

The big take away from this update has been the consistent effort on the part of Riot to stop decks who essentially have un-fun play patterns from being dominant...

1. Aggro Nox's overpowered 2 mana slot has been gutted , this is good for the health of the game there was literally 12 auto includes in the slot

2. Exclusives have been nerfed with will of ionia, Heimer, solitary monk last patch, and shadow assassin

3. Discard decks buffed substantially, this is good for jinx, and gives Draven a home outside of aggro

4. Frejord champs tweaked, very necessary and healthy

So we should be heading to a midrange meta, as long as Ezreal control isn't oppressive, and there is a pretty serious chance of that

If you want a list of strong decks going forward here are a few likely options...

1. Any variant of bilgewater/Dem bannerman, scout or aggro focused doesn't matter

2. They who endure, the deck never went anywhere, but it should be relatively better now

3. Deep is similarly positioned to do well

4. Ezreal control variants, yep nuff said

5. Ash decks, usually with noxious splash

6. Unknown aggro elusive list, just using the cards that haven't been nerfed along with a splash

Curious to see how many people here still enjoy ladder play and which decks you guys are bringing to the fight.

My latest creation is Anivia / Braum variation centered around... try to guess this one: Absorb Soul!!!
I am currenlty having a great deal of sucess with it, excels against aggro/burn decks and Anivia wins by herself if the game goes on for too long. Here is the list:  

Been playing LoR for a bit over a month and have farmed a good portion of the cards but I have to ask: Is there a chance they will nerf some of the mechanics that make this game toxic for newbies at some point?  I dont mind getting facerushed or burn-spelled to death, but when I consistently come up against 3-4 recall/stun, deep, unyielding spirit and Heimer decks in every category of play ( Even casual and the tail end of gauntlet) it makes me want to uninstall and go back to some other TCG...  Is there hope or should I just quit while I have fond memories?  Even the pillage mechanic everyone seems to hate isnt as bad as the previous stuff, at least you can counter it with a strong board.

Some Vets pls chime in. I want to like LoR but... I quit Hearthstone for the same reason, only 3-4 decks can compete and I don't own all the cards.

Honestly I'm surprised they don't have any dredge like cards that use your graveyard as a resource. They have a ton of discard cards but nothing to bring back discarded cards outside of deep.

Cards like that would really help champs like Jinx be more viable. Also you could build decks that discard expensive heavy hitters early on only to bring them back later during the mid game like turn 5 or 6 for cheap.

You could also take that as a way to add mill cards and cards to discard cards your enemy has in their hand or deck and even use your dredge cards to take from their graveyard too.

Freljord is supposedly so cold that its own people pride themselves on being able to survive in it. So why does Ashe walk around half naked? -_-
