Tundra Arms League is a new event that was added to the game on August 18th, 2025. It is basically a high-stakes Foundry tournament that lasts 2 weeks.

Tournament Overview

When Tundra Arms League begins, each State will be matched to a particular Zone based on its level of development to ensure fair competition for all.

Each Zone can hold up to 64 Legions which will be further divided into four groups.

The tournament consists of Elimination Rounds and Championship Rounds each lasting a week.

Once all matches are finished, the Champion, runner-up, and third-place Legion for each Zone will be determined and recorded permanently in the Hall of Heroism.

If fewer than 16 Legions register to participate in any Zone, then the tournament will not be held for that Zone.

Tournament Rules

The actual combat itself is the same as regular Foundry Battle, but some additional rules for the tournament apply:

  1. Troops cannot die in Tundra Arms League and will auto-heal at the end of the battle.
  2. When a battle begins, two Legions will be matched against each other and will enter the battlefield to fight for dominance. Legion that occupy a building for the first time (i.e. hold the building until it changes to their color) or maintain constant control over a building will earn both Alliance Arsenal Points and Personal Arsenal Points.
  3. The battle will end when the countdown reaches zero, and whichever Alliance has the most Alliance Arsenal Points will be declared the winner.
  4. Rewards will be distributed at the end of battle phase based on the Alliance's Overall Performance and each Chief's Personal Performance.
  5. Legions currently participating in Tundra Arms League cannot participate in regular Foundry Battle, but they can join the next season of Foundry Battle once eliminated from Tundra Arms League.
  6. The cooldown time for battle-type pet skills for all Legion members still participating in the tournament will be reset at 00:00 UTC on each battle day and at 00:00 UTC on the following day.
  7. The outcomes of a Legion's Tundra Arms League matches will not affect the Foundry Battle Tier of the League to which they belong.
  8. The Chiefs of States participating in Tundra Arms League can spectate all tournament matches across all Zones.
  9. Once the registration phase ends, each Legion's participant list will be finalized. Leaving your Alliance after this time will not affect your participation, but you'll have to return to your Alliance before battle starts.
  10. If you are a Combatant and you leave your Alliance, you will receive rewards from your current Alliance, but not from your original Alliance.
  11. Alliances selected for participation cannot be disbanded between the end of the registration phase and the end of the tournament.

Registration

All Alliances are eligible to register for Tundra Arms League. Alliance Leaders and R4 officers can sign up for the event.

Each Alliance can register two Legions. The first Legion is unlocked by default. To unlock the second Legion, the Alliance must be at least Lv. 6 and have 40 members who have logged into the game during the current week. Members leaving the Alliance will affect the count.

Alliance Leaders or R4 officers can sign up individual members. The total number of Combatants and Substitutes in a Legion must be at least 15 to participate in matchmaking. This is calculated separately for each Legion.

Alliance members can issue a Battle Request signaling they want to join the fight. Up to 30 Combatants and 20 Substitutes can be signed up in each Legion. Each member can only be selected for one Legion, either as a Combatant or Substitute.

After the registration phase ends, no changes can be made to the list of Combatants and Substitutes for the full duration of the tournament, so please choose carefully!

Registered Legions are ranked based on Matchmaking Points, and only the top 64 Legions in each Zone are eligible to participate.

  • Matchmaking Points are determined by the Troop Power of the top 20 registered Chiefs (Combatant or Substitute).
  • The main source of Troop Power are Chief Gear, Hero Gear, and Battle Tech.

Whiteout Survival Tundra Arms League - Legion Qualification

This is a pretty big game-changer compared to the regular Foundry Battle where you are trying to minimize your Matchmaking Points to get a favorable opponent. Here, you cannot hold anything back otherwise your Alliance might not even qualify!

Participation Time

Participating Legions must choose any 3 of the following match times:

  • 2:00 UTC
  • 7:00 UTC
  • 12:00 UTC
  • 14:00 UTC
  • 19:00 UTC

After the registration phase ends, no changes can be made to selected participation times for the full duration of the tournament, so please choose carefully!

After being matched with an opponent, the system will automatically determine the match time based on the time priorities set by both sides.

Entering the Battlefield

Participating Chiefs can enter the battlefield once the battle begins, provided that Auto-Hunt is disabled and they have no troops scouting or marching outside their City, no injured troops in the Infirmary, no burning Barricades, and no reinforcements from other Chief's in their Embassy.

Once on the battlefield, allied forces ill be tagged blue and enemies red.

Battle Phase

This will be basically a regular Foundry Battle.

  • Phase 1: Prototype Sites, Repair Facilities, Boiler Room, and Transit Station can be contested.
  • Phase 2: Imperial Foundry, Munitions Warehouse and Mercenary Camp can be contested.
  • Phase 3: Weapon Workshops will start to appear randomly across the map.

Whichever side has accumulated the most Alliance Arsenal Points by the end of the battle will be declared the winner.

Tournament Schedule

The tournament lasts for two weeks and is split into two phases - Elimination (week one) and Championship (week two).

Elimination Phase

Each Zone's participating Legions are divided into groups by 16 Legions up to a maximum of 4 groups (total of 64 Legions in any Zone).

Elimination has 4 rounds:

  • Round 1 - Monday
  • Round 2 - Wednesday
  • Round 3 - Friday
  • Round 4 - Sunday

The Elimination Phase employs a single-elimination format, the winning Legion in each match will advance to the next round, while the losers will be eliminated, and after 4 rounds, the top Legion will advance to the Championship.

Example of Elimination Phase for a single group.

Seeding Order for the Championship

The 4 Legions that successfully advance out of the Elimination Phase will be ranked by their Total Net Wins Points accumulated during elimination rounds, and the top 2 Legions will advance to the Gold Championship group, while the bottom 2 will advance to the Silver Championship group.

  • The Total Net Wins Point Leaderboard only counts data from Elimination Phase matches. Data from Championship matches are not included.

Total Net Wins Point Calculation

The Total Net Wins Points of a Legion is the sum of the Net Win Points of all of its elimination matches.

Net Win Points from a single match is the difference between the final Alliance Arsenal Points of the winner and loser.

Legions that auto-advance through a round without an opponent will receive the same Net Wins Points as the Legion that earned the most Net Wins Points in their Zone for that round.

  • Note: I guess there always doesn't have to be an even number of Legions in a Zone so someone can be an odd one out in the first round and get a free win.

Example

Legion 1 has made it out of the Elimination Phase as Champion of Group A. They fought 4 matches.

  • Note: Lets use simple numbers to understand this easier.

Match 1

  • Legion 1 Alliance Arsenal Points: 150,000.
  • Legion 2 Alliance Arsenal Points: 50,000.
  • Net Win Points of Legion 1: 150,000 - 50,000 = 100,000.

Match 2

  • Legion 1 Alliance Arsenal Points: 150,000.
  • Legion 3 Alliance Arsenal Points: 50,000.
  • Net Win Points of Legion 1: 150,000 - 50,000 = 100,000.

Match 3

  • Legion 1 Alliance Arsenal Points: 150,000.
  • Legion 5 Alliance Arsenal Points: 50,000.
  • Net Win Points of Legion 1: 150,000 - 50,000 = 100,000.

Match 4

  • Legion 1 Alliance Arsenal Points: 150,000.
  • Legion 9 Alliance Arsenal Points: 50,000.
  • Net Win Points of Legion 1: 150,000 - 50,000 = 100,000.

Total Net Wins Points of Legion 1: 100,000 + 100,000 + 100,000 + 100,000 = 400,000.

This score would be the basis of seed placement for Championship phase.

Championship Phase

Seeding in the Championship is based on the Total Net Wins Points of the four advancing Legions from the Elimination Phase. Top 2 Legions get placed in the Gold Championship group and bottom 2 Legions in Silver Championship group.

  • When a Legion in Gold group wins, they stay in the Gold group.
  • When a Legion in Gold group loses, they move to the Silver group.
  • When a Legion in Silver group wins, they move up to the Gold group.
  • When a Legion in Silver group loses, they are eliminated.

In the end, the top Legion in the Gold group will compete with the top Legion in the Silver group to be crowned the champion.

Championship has 3 rounds:

  • Round 1: Tuesday
  • Round 2: Thursday
  • Round 3: Saturday

Rematch Regulations

Unless there is a serious issue with the game server, match results will be considered final.

For matches affected by a serious server issue, the tournament organizer reserves the right to schedule a rematch within 24 hours of the end of the problematic match and notify participants via in-game mail.

The rematch time will be scheduled for the same time slot as the original match on the following day and the results of the original match will be cleared.

After the tournament organizer sends a rematch notification, the Legion must participate in the rematch at the scheduled time. There will be no additional rematch opportunity.

Spectator Mode

Tundra Arms League brings a new Spectator Mode for Foundry Battles! At the time of writing, not sure if it will be implemented for regular Foundry Battles as well or not.

But this is a highly requested feature among the community. Players want to see how their friends are doing in their battles so now they can! Or they can watch the strongest Legions battle it out and maybe learn some tactics and strategy in the process? I'm sure it will be a blast.

Closing Thoughts

This event looks massive! Maybe not in scale, since it is "just" the same repeating Foundry Battle, but in length and complexity. Up to 7 Foundry Battles in 2 weeks? That seem insane!

There is a potential to get huge amounts of rewards, mostly [Arsenal Tokens] for Foundry Shop and new [Champion Stake] or [Match Stake] tokens to be used to predict a Match Winner or to use them in the new Prediction Shop.

This event will be extremely demanding on your Alliance. We all know how difficult it is to do one Foundry every two weeks and actually get people who are signed up to show on time. Now they need to show up every two days? This will be a mess.

And what is even worse, since only top 64 Legions from each Zone can qualify, you will be incentivized to sign up your strongest players. And that's not all, the time requirement might necessitate some deeper tactical decisions - Do you split your players into two Legions to give a chance to play to most of your members? But you would be weakening both Legions by doing that. So maybe instead you pack one Legion with all the strongest players, even as Substitutes, and give them the best chance possible?

It might be the superior option for most Alliances, it might also alleviate some pressure and potentially let different members show up on different days and still be able to come up with a decent lineup. But to become a Champion, your Alliance will have to be strong, and maybe this will be the first time when some of you will even utilize all 50 signed up players during one match?

Actually, I think this will end up in similar fashion as Frostdragon Tyrant where the strongest players in the State from each Alliance might have to come together to a) even qualify and b) have a chance at victory. But then they will have to juggle Alliances every other day for two weeks, or stay in their "League Alliance" for the duration. We shall see how Alliances and States handle this challenge.

Good luck to everyone!
