Who is this?
He arrived with a handcart, a ledger and no skin, and by the second night half the camp's stores were in his sack. Nobody saw him take anything. Everybody signed something.
The Bone Broker does not fight for ground and he does not eat. He trades. He will sell you back your own iron at four times what it cost you, and he will do it politely, and the terms will be written down in a hand that looks a great deal like yours. The patterns in his sack are not his either: tier two came out of somebody's workshop, and he is asking a price for it.
His bones are held together by the deal and nothing else. Break enough of them and the ledger stops balancing, and everything he is holding falls out at once.

Gourdon the Rotten
the pumpkin that would not stay carved
The Ooze came up through the pumpkin patch on the first night of October, and the patch answered it. Gourdon the Rotten is standing at the tree line with a field of grinning heads behind it, and the camp bell has not stopped ringing since sundown.
