Who is this?
Everything that came before was the Ooze finding out what the camp was made of. The pumpkins, the broker, the woods, the knight: none of them were sent. They were what it had to hand.
The Oozelord is what it does when it stops improvising. It is all of it, at once, in one shape, and the shape has a face because it has spent a month watching faces and has decided that is what a thing like this ought to have.
It does not go around a wall. It goes through, or over, or under, and the only thing that has ever slowed it down is everybody standing in the same place at the same time. Which, for once, they are.

Gourdon the Rotten
the pumpkin that would not stay carved
The Ooze came up through the pumpkin patch on the first night of October, and the patch answered it. Gourdon the Rotten is standing at the tree line with a field of grinning heads behind it, and the camp bell has not stopped ringing since sundown.
