Was it a dream or Blizzard hinted at the new game mode to be in Wild format?

Because I seriously remember reading some kind of interview to the HS staff where the guy said something along the line of "Dont dust your Wild card just yet! You are going to be able to use them in the upcoming mode". I cant find this quote now tho' and being myself a free to play-er and having neglected the game in favor of LoR those last months, I was thinking of dusting some old legendaries to keep up with the new cards. Dont want it to turn out to be a shitty idea when the new mode is announced, can somebody confirm this?

Yes I can confirm. I think the new mode will be something related to older expansions...
Seasonal rotation of expansions very likely.
But the dilemma is:
Do we have to craft the cards that we owned before at full craft price? Sounds like a joke, isnt it?
They said "These cards can only be played in Wild format", so a lot of people (like me) dusted them because "Wild it's Wild" (you know what I mean).
It looks like a giant SCAM from my point of view and I'm not ever going to re-craft them at full craft price.
There's a lot of F2Players around, and it will be very hard for them to access such a mode.
I hope they will understand that, and act smartly in that matter. Maybe allowing players to craft old cards for the dust price instead of craft price.
If it wont happen, the mode will probably be a fiasco.
Prudence is a virtue.
I don't remember them saying anything about the new game mode, but it is probably a good idea to wait and see before disenchanting anything.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
Otherwise players who kept all the cards and bought new packs with money or gold instead of dusting the wild cards, will be very pissed, if they hand out those cards "for free" now.
But Blizzard always seems to care more about new players than loyal fans.
They never would give all wild cards for free, that would be stupid and cut their profit in half or more, even when we know that players can purchase older packs.
On an interview wayyy back when the duplicate protection was extended to all rarities, Ben Lee had this to say:
"Generally, we don't particularly want players to disenchant their cards. That's a bit of a new mentality for us, especially when you think about things like achievements in the future, and game modes potentially linking to older parts of your collection. If you're destroying your cards, you're kind of harming yourself [in relation to] future things that we're planning. So, we want people to open their cards, feel good about them, and keep them."
Bit more recently, he directly told that you can use Wild cards in the game mode in a Reddit AMA:
"The new game mode coming later this year will allow you to use cards from older and newer sets. Currently, we aren't putting any restrictions on which sets can be played within it, and there might even be some cool hidden secrets for using some of the older cards 😉. - Ben"
To the side discussion of the thread, they'll never make Wild cards cheaper to craft, I just don't see it. Why would you ever punish your players for keeping their cards? They definitely can offer cheap Wild pack bundles or similar, but anything further than that will cause a community backlash.
I kept wild cards since Old Gods release. I disenchanted all of them at the start of the year of the dragon...
I have every PvE but dusted all the cards, imagine craft them at full price, never ever going to happen.
They must edit the craft/dust system to implement that mode and make it accessible to everyone.
For example: Legendary costs 1600 - Rent the card for the new mode will cost 400 - Pay additional 1200 to use it in Wild
If none of this is going to happen, I hope that the new mode will be just something else, like Dual-Class mode.
