[New Class] Witch Doctor

Greetings here! I'm here to present you my version of how I would change Priest's Core Set... new class.

...or is it? Well, Witch Doctor is actually one of the oldest classes in the Hearthcards Class Creator, dating all the way back to 2018, so basically when the tool was in alpha and not always available on the Hearthcards main site. While I haven't updated it expansion-wise for a long time, being stuck in RoS and running out of ideas, I still hold dearly to it, and so I'll fianlly share it to a broader audience, this time with a new Core Set to match current ones.

For your information, you can also check the class in Hearthcards Class Creator. Just scroll to the end of the search bar and find "Witch Doctor" with currently 152 cards in it.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Show Spoiler
  • Strengths
    • Removal - Witch Doctors excel at dealing with enemy minions.
    • Buffs - Acolytes stay together, guided by their clans.
    • Disruption - Curses are normal for enemies to suffer through.
  • Limitations
    • Minions - Witch Doctor stands strong with many allies, but they are usually not as brutal by themselves.
    • Swarm - There be plenty of frogs and spiders in here!
    • Survivability - Mending wounds with juju helps in combat.
    • Card Generation - Voodoo gives a lot of tools to cause chaos.
  • Weaknesses
    • Face Damage - Patience is virtue for Witch Doctors. Curses are best applied over time.
    • Minion Reliance - The class is all about making wacky stuff on the board. No minions means no fun.
    • Card Draw - Amidst the chaos of Voodoo magic, Witch Doctors can't easily find their own medicine in combat.

  • looks pretty good. Not sure if Seal of blight isn't a bit too weak though

    • I am aware of Unnatural Power being stronger overall, but that would oversaturate my Core Set with Classic cards, and Seal of Blight has a similar functionality to that Epic card, even though the original Seal of Blight is in the same expansion cycle as Year of the Raven, where I added a Legendary weapon Totem of Chaos that gave +1 Spell Damage and reduced the Cost of cards in hand by (1).
