complete Weekly Quests before or after launch?

Submitted 3 years, 4 months ago by

Hi guys,

Planning to buy the tavern pass and buying around 60 packs for gold.
Now I‘m thinking about todays weekly quests:

- finish them before go live to benefit of the current xp bonus from barrens tavern pass (and then buy more packs for gold)

- finish them after go live so I get early progress on stormwind tavern pass

Is there a difference or is it just get more gold today vs more gold later (because of the faster progress in stormwind)?

Best,
Bathala

Dosent matter.... Either you get more gold now or a headstart on new track

Its likely better to complete them after the expansion has launched. Its not so much about getting a head start on the reward track, its largely because the reward track gifts out legendary cards, which often enough you'll get the first one fairly easily within the week.

Getting that legendary early means you'll be more likely to make a better choice when deciding what to craft after the first few days.

I had the same question myself. I think, as others here, it´s best to keep your quests for the new Rewards Track, especially when you plan to buy the next TP. You´ll get the 10% boost immediatelly and with the extra quests you get to the 20% sooner. Only time I would complete the quests before the reset would be, if I would have the 20% boost active and will not buy the next TP - in that case I think it´s better to get use of the boost untill you can. But as you´ve said, it´s not our case. Just my 2 cents.

Strictly mathematically speaking you should complete them now because you'll get the 20% bonus XP whereas on a new pass it'll only be the initial 10%.

Realistically however it makes no substantial difference.

Personally I'll save them so I can make faster progress and get the free packs and cards faster. Getting through the early stages of the pass is always the most annoying part so I'll take any headstart I can get.

    I tried having fun once.

    It was awful.

While we are on this topic, What about the DAILY quests?  Should I keep holding 1 or 2 quests for August 3?  Are we getting any special quest or questline tomorrow?  If so does that come with a normal quest as well?  I want to get through the first part of the track faster.  I can't remember how this was handled for the launch of Barrens.

Over a long period of time (and assuming you either always buy Tavern Pass or never buy Tavern Pass), there shouldn't be much of a difference from a value perspective.

That said, I think the case where it does make sense is if you're F2P. Extra levels early translate to more stuff on day 1, which is much more impactful for F2P players who don't already have loads of packs to open from purchased bundles.
