Very good damage dealer, the Fireball storm can deal insane damage with the right party and equipment. Im not sure if repeated abilities (like Diablo's Fire stomp) count for Fireball storm, but it still has very high damage potential, especially in boss fights.
Not including Antonidas himself, there appear to be 4 four Mercs with multiple Fire abilities, and a couple more who have a one-off Fire ability. That's not bad, and they're covered across the Role spectrum so you have coverage when you need it. You could go cross-synergy with Voone and Dragons if you want to field a nearly-full Fire party.
All-in-all, he seems fine. Antonidas lack utility and disruption, but there's plenty of damage here.
Wow, talk about diminishing returns on ability upgrades ... I wonder if that has something to do with synergies, or if it's just meant to reduce the amount of power you can buy with cash.
Maybe a little bit of both? True Gacha games tend always have the "newer" thing be better than older things. So as long as we don't see "newest mercenary has overpowered abilities, equipment, skills" then I think limiting synergies is a good thing to encourage different comps, strengths, and weaknesses.
