Blood Magic
How much are you willing to sacrifice for power? All your spells will cost health instead of mana!
This build-a-deck brawl challenges you to build a deck from any class. Any spells added to your deck will cost health instead of mana, which is much like Cho'gall's card effect.
How it Works
- You cannot play spells if your health is equal to or lower than the cost of the given spell.
- If you have an effect which reduces the mana-cost of a spell, it will apply to the health cost of it.
- Similarly, cards that increase the cost of spells, such as Loatheb, will also increase the health cost of the spell.
Tips
- Minions that can draw cards can be quite helpful for getting those big spells you want to cast early.
- If you can make your hero immune, with a card such as Violet Illusionist, spells are effectively free since you will not take damage.
- Playing big spells early that give you considerable board presence or deal large amounts of damage can help you win.

I also opened it :( did get a legendary and an epic though so maybe not too bad in the end. At least that's 500 dust ;)
Awesome luck! Congrats!
Thanks for the advice
I would have opned it xD
Same goes for class packs from solo adventures and such. Save them unless you really need the cards.
(I'm pretty sure duplicate protection does not apply, but you can get new cards if you open them after launch before you open your other packs.)
Standard Packs are much better than Year of the X packs. At least you can pity break on them. Hopefully it's permanent.
I suspect it's a unique occurrence, since rotation is happening in a few days. No one is really interested in Year of the Gryphon cards at this point, so it's smart for them to offer a pack you can open next week to get relevant cards.
Guess they noticed how utterly stupid this brawl was -- they've changed it to Party Portals.
This brawl should just be named: Turn one concede. Because if you dont start turn 1 then you might as well just leave.
Because if your opposite is dhunter, why bother trying?
I got lucky then. Going second and my opponent was playing an Auto-Complete deck. Saw a Mecharoo come down turn 1. Was so confused that I almost forgot to do anything on my turn.
That was my first, and since I got my pack only attempt at this brawl this week.
Druid is still the easiest way to get the pack I think.
Easy first game, turn 1 win -> full board of minions, enemy at 5 hp -> "I concede."
My first thought was to play The Demon Seed, but then I realized you couldn't play Tamsin until turn 5, and you'd be dead by turn 1.
You'd still get 6 damage + 6 healing for just 1 damage. Not broken, in my opinion, but still good. However, they banned the card anyway.
People must play this brawl, because they bring it back so often.
But like. Why.
Another highly interactive piece of garbage...
Seriously does anyone even playtest these? This brawl is literally play first = win, play second = you didn't actually queue for a game.
This is just a brawl. They knew that it will be like that, it is second time they have this brawl and last time it was same. Just have some fun, it is not ladder...
Found using DH with Blur, +attack, and card draw to work well. Cycle through the deck and stack a ton of damage without hurting yourself to be a pretty easy win.
I managed to OTK with Demon Hunter once, when my opponent didn't manage to OTK me and was at 26 health instead of 30 when I got my turn. I think you can get 30 damage in turn 1 if you draw both copies of Inner Demon, but I wasn't that lucky.
The main problem I ran into is the popularity of Druid, which has enough healing and armor to exceed the total amount of damage in my deck.
Don't need a tavern brawl for this, just play stealer of souls warlock! :)
Having fun with togwaggle druid
