I genuinely enjoy these types of cards, even though sometimes you get a raw deal. Yes, I've played plenty of evolve Shaman in my time. This card is comparable to Corpse Bride, except the value is harder to predict. Instead of just a vanilla 4/4 or 8/8 or whatever, you get a minion that might be way better, or might be a total whiff.
Its a card specifically designed to amp up Climactic Necrotic Explosion.
Rather astounding that its a single rune card considering that it'll never see play in a UUU deck. Even at best it'll appear in rainbow DK simply to spend those corpses so you can have your finale that ultimately 9/10 times would never kill the opponent outright.
But even considering that function, is it actually better than corpse bride on that regard? Taking a swing at a random 8 cost minion against a consistent 8/8, that's a question to ask. Id still prefer corpse bride if only because I get another 4/4 to go with it.
2 Plagued Grain in hand...
I would guess by turn 4 or 5 you could have eight corpses, and a random 8-Cost minion that early is probably good.
Corpse spender for rainbow I guess. Being comparable to corpse bride is not where you want to be.
Random 8 cost? would rather it just be summon a minion with states equal to corpses spent for consistency. Corse spender in rainbow dk, that is all
WAY better than Corpse Bride. This is cheaper, but has the downside of being less consistant. But lets be honest, you rather have 3 mana highroll summon Ragnaros the Firelord, then a Corpse Bride+8/8 Risen groom.
This will see play in Rainbow DK, considering it needs corpse spenders like this.
Triple Unholy DK might also use this, because if you play 1 copy of Plagued Grain before this, then you can summon a big minion early.
