Too bad the queue time is hours long and by the time I can get in there, I would have used up all my time earmarked for gaming lol
What are you guys rolling? :)

Undead Mage on Herod w/ Tailoring and Enchanting! Almost got to level 9, Eastern Kingdoms crashed and this has been my life for almost 2 hours.

"You may think you are a shadow priest, but you'll be the guy that always heals!"
Vanilla WoW is extremely overhyped imo. The tinted glasses and amount of players that never experienced the cons of the initial installment firsthand abound everywhere.
Vanilla was amazing back there because everything was new, nobody knows a thing and even raids looked cool because they were gorgeous to be in them.
Looking back at those things after all this years you'll see just long grinds, boring encounters and terrible design flaws that made almost all classes viable with only one build.
In 6 months more than half of the players that now are hyped will probably leave it, because those memories cannot be revived today.
"For what profit is it to a man if he gains the world, and loses his own soul?"
Yes, i realy loved the Classic Vanilla WoW - everything was new and you had to find stuff for your Quests on your own. Fights, Raids, Quests - everything was different. But good different from now :)
But i also am not sure how long the playerbase will stay - like you said 6 months could be the breaking point and lots of players will leave because the Hype Train and reliving the Vanilla will be over ...
Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!
In vanilla trying to get past a group of mobs was already a challenge which could result in multiple respawns at slightly too crowded spaces so run...run...run...die...run back...run...run...run...die...run back etc. Until you finally reached a safe spot to look at all your red armor.
I still remember that glorious day when I finally got my first class weapon which only happened because I got help from someone with much higher level. That vanilla game was insanely more hard to level then present cakewalks where you can level a new expansion within a week and still have time for eat, sleep etc.
I say that I would have LOVED to try it (as I didn't have internet back in the day :P) if there was a free to play option.
I have given too much money to blizzard with hearthstone to try wow again :(
I was hyped for a hot minute, but then I took a deep breath and thought about it. I started back in November of 2007 and played like it was a job for a long, long time. I'm talking about 50+ hour weeks WITH a full time job. Wake up, eat, go to work, come home, eat, play WoW, sleep; repeat. I watched and experienced the game change throughout the years and I finally stopped playing it "for real" back in Warlords. The past was cool because it was new. Reliving it now though seems super disingenuous and more like a waste of time than anything else.
And honestly, I can't go back to the original character models!
Playing wow for the first time! I just wanted to experience the crowded servers, building community and explore the world. Maybe even encounter some characters from HS, that i love!
I picked an ork warrior but i allready regret being mele... Can‘t reach the boars quickly enough.
I doubt i ever will get to the point of playing raids and stuff but who knows

I'm a huge fan of the original game art which definitely drove some interest into playing. The look has improved so much over the years and is without a doubt better, but there's just something so special about the 3 poly trees and feet that look like bricks.
Then, of course, there is just so much more customization in the gearing, even if we know what the BiS stuff is.
I've had much enjoyment so far grouping up with others, trading to obtain better gear, crafting bags for people, and just having a million people around. Phasing really screws up the live game =/ Oh, and we don't feel like heroes yet which is also awesome. I hate how cinematic everything is in the current game, its almost too flashy. I don't need all that stuff to keep my attention.
Anyway, if anyone is on NA Herod Horde, <Recycled Content> has room, just give someone online a holler. No clue what the end game plans are.

Hope all of the vanilla hunters enjoy the return of the completely illogical dead zone in pvp. Nothing like a mage frost novaing you in place during WSG and /dancing while you can neither hit them with your melee weapon or shoot them with your bow/gun.
Good old classic bad class design.
Not to mention the return of twinks 1-2 shotting you until you finally hit level cap and are done with the garbage.
I don’t think people excited about WoW classic remember Vanilla accurately. Have fun farming fire resist gear
I don't get the nostalgia. The only thing I can think of those misty eyed over memory lane or those wanting ego trips on getting purple worded magic pants with locally sourced jerks put in a cat herd instead of random jerks from other servers put in a cat herd by the Raid Finder.
And most of the niceties added over the course of the game were big steps up if you felt like doing a dungeon at midnight or tried to have a life. I actually came back when I learned of transmog; I didn't have to have my characters looking like clowns while raiding.
Have fun finding the people for certain Dungeon or Raid X no one wants to do in a few weeks.
/WoW guilds and accomplishments are the Internet equivalent of bowling teams and scores. Nobody will care in decade or two.
//how long till Wrath of the Lich King-era servers are demanded because WoW Classic got boring?
I don't know if you're playing classic or retail, but in any case, warrior is notoriously slow to level so it's not a good beginner pick. If you don't think you'll get far into the game as warrior, know that you can try other classes
Jesus ... if you don't like something, that's fine. But that's no reason to wish everyone who do like it to a terrible time
It's like a standard only player wishing everyone quits wild because every game is big priest causing Blizzard to shut down the entire game mode. That's the kind of thing you'd hear on HP. We're OoC, we're better than this. It's okay for people to like different things
I'm really curious to find out, if Classic WoW matches people's expectations. If we forget about the long queue, how satisfied are you with the game?
Oh damn .. Well so be it then. I‘m level 10 by now and don‘t want to go through all this stuff again just yet. But since i have no real goals, leveling slowly is totally fine. Running around for quests 90% of time anyway
I‘m talking about classic by the way.

Warrior is top dog though in Classic which is a great carrot for when things get tough with the class =)

I'd probably play again if it were a burning crusade or wrath rerelease. I remember first playing classic back in high school and it was amazing. I could just never go back to it now knowing how much better the other 2 expansions were.
I want to plat but I refuse to pay a subscription. I cant justify paying monthly to play at most 10 hours a week.
Let me pay $50-$100 and have it forever please and thank yo
Gets to legend then plays memes.
Rogue > all
Yeah, warrior is a powerful class but it requires a lot of patience when leveling. The process might be tough enough to drive new players away, especially when they don't know how big the carrot is
That said, if a newbie warrior can persevere to dungeon diving levels, they'll probably get a lot of tips and support from everyone because there's never enough tanks
As mentioned above, be sure to look forward to those dungeons. You're almost there! As a warrior, you're guaranteed to be popular, so just let your group know you're new and they'll probably accommodate
I used to be a huge fan of WoW, and if I could afford it, I would probably still play it, mainly for the storyline (maybe instead of HS too, which I initially took as a replacement to WoW).
But even if I could, I wouldn't try Classic now. I never really enjoyed it back then as much as I enjoyed it later, even just slightly later like in TBC or WOTLK.
But well, if it works, good for everyone I guess.
