Here be dragons
So, thoughts on the new Battlegrounds additions?
So far, for me:
- Games are a lot faster now, because there's a lot more 4- and 5-cost minions that exist to be fat bodies rather than amplifiers. Smacking someone for 20 damage meant you utterly stomped them, previously, while now it just means Razorgore and a couple of other fat dragons stuck around
- Deathwing is being oddly underrated given he can go from early to late game with two Rat Packs on his board and nothing else :P
- Ysera is late-game-oriented but feels disgustingly strong due to her reliability with a Dragon comp
- Dragons in general are being overplayed, along with Beasts, meaning you can pick up high placements by running Demons and Murlocs simply because people won't go for them unless they got stuck with a railroaded hero - this is pretty much just because they're new, so take advantage of it in the short term
- Mechs feel really weak right now, probably because both Dragons and Murlocs can pull their Divine Shield signature (and do it with minions that don't fold the second a light breeze hits them without their shield up)
- Speaking of Divine Shield, George is MUCH more powerful now. Not only did his hero power get buffed, but adding DS synergies into the game gave him a huge amount of relevance
I could go on, but most of you probably stopped reading already. Your experiences?

I'm not as good as turn 4 Barnes; But I'm at least a Twilight Drake
Mostly agree. I haven't played a ton of BG overall, but I've had quite a bit of fun the last couple days trying out the dragons.
-Razorgore seems a really good. I saw someone get a couple of him down early, and they got HUGE. With Amalgams gone, poison is harder to find, so that matters.
-I've played as Galakrond, and he was good. I didn't do too well, but I don't want to blame him for that. Using his HP to angle for specific minions seems like it has potential, but I didn't get too lucky.
-The Red Whelps are everywhere! And they're good too, to the extent that shooting random targets is good. PSA: When one of yours kills one of theirs before it shoots, it doesn't get to shoot.
-Haven't seen Deathwing or Ysera yet, but yeah, they both seem potentially very good.

My take on things:
Dragons seem very weak right now. Tiering and building the board is really akward and it only seems to pop off at tier 5. Most of the time it is too little too late. I suspect this is due to the fact that everyone is trying to go Dragons, so when that calms down, we’ll have to see.
My other peeves include the Red Whelps. They need to be removed because they are unpredictable garbage that has literally no counterplay.
My new hero tier list would go:
A:
Deathwing (top 4 by doing nothing)
Reno (just go golden Brann or Rivendare and win)
B:
Malygos
Galakrond
Ysera (depends on whether dragons are good)
Nozdormu
C:
Alexstraza (tavern tier 5 for 2 whelps?)
This ain't no place for a hero
Disagree about mechs - Annoy-o-Module. I made a team with 2x Cobalt Guardian, mechs with deathrattle and Drakonid Enforcer. Easy wins.
What's the most powerful card in Hearthstone?
A credit card.
@Pezman - Yup, Razorgore can pop off in a big way. For Deathwing shenanigans, Sottle has been posting a few tweets of what Deathwing has been doing for him - he posted one screenshot of getting (iirc) top 4 with just a Murloc Tidecaller and a Rat Pack on his board. Then posted another which didn't use Rat Pack just to show he could.
@PopeNeia - I don't think I'd put Reno in tier 1 simply because of his atrocious early game. He has to make it through to find the aforementioned minions and then find the relevant stuff to synergise with it before he really does anything - and given how fast games are ending right now that's far from guaranteed. Ysera I'd consider giving Tier 1 to, but she has a similar late game issue (though she has more reliability in the early and midgame at least).
@Skorpionex - It's a valid point, but whether that's reliable or not is another question. I find Annoy-o-Module in particular to be irritatingly rare.

Yes, Dragons are everywere (at least on Battlegrounds Mode) - most of my games 5-6 people at least go for Dragons! But i guess this is because they are new.
Sure you can win with Dragons, but right now it is easier with Murlocs/Demons or Beasts because most of the players pick Dragons right now :)
Ysera , Deathwing and Galakrond are the new Heroes i haven't had the opportunity yet to play them - the others seem pretty decent. So far i like it but i guess some of these Dragons will see some sort of Nerf in the Future.
Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!
Deathwing brings Beasts back. Rat pack is pretty much insane. You get a free Pack Leader and unless your opponent also runs tokens you never get punished
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
I'm really loving the new Herald of Flame card, especially when you get it golden early. The overkill effect can trigger itself, leading to a huge chain of dead minions. Sucks against divine shield tho.
I forgot to mention Nadina the Red! If she heads up a decent dragon board, that's some serious hurt for your opponent. I once had 2 of her, one on the left and one in the middle. Lucky me, all my dragons got 2 waves of shields.
Has anyone tripled Nadina? I'm curious if her effect changes, or just her stats.

Yup, I have. And yup, it's stats only. Upgrading her is actively bad because you want her to die before any of your dragons do.
Yes, I was mad.

Hey, good to know. Thanks!

Dragons are the new Demons I guess....at least in terms of lategame.
Also Cobalt Guardian is still at tier 3 and noone seems to care.
