Competition Theme: Are You Prepared?

The Demon Hunters are upon us! Sadly, they won't have cards from any previous expansions, so it's up to us to make some for them.

  • You must create a Demon Hunter card for a previous Hearthstone expansion or adventure
    • Any card set is fair game, excluding Basic, Classic and Ashes of Outland. Make sure you're using the appropriate watermark!
  • You can only use mechanics introduced up to the expansion or adventure you chose
    • No Naxxramas cards with Reborn, or GvG cards with Poisonous, for example
  • You must obey the rarity distribution of previous expansions and adventures
    • No Naxxramas Legendaries or Blackrock Mountain Epics, please!

Welcome to thepowrofcheese's competition, celebrating our brand new class!

Also note that we've given you space for up to one token for this competition, as a trial run of this method of allowing it. We'll see how it ends up playing out and make adjustments as needed.

As always, I can be reached through Discord or here on the site via PM if you have any issues to report.

I made three different C'Thun-synergy cards, because I love C'Thun for some reason. Tell me which you like the most :)

I gave Triple Spin the Outcast keyword because I thought it would be more interesting that way; if you think it would be more appealing without the condition, I'll remove it.

@linkblade91: I love all 3 cards! I feel like the (6)-cost Twilight Reaver is the best iteration. If you're running C'Thun it's likely to be at 10 Attack by turn 7/8 and this has the stats to stick around and gives your hero a much-needed power boost that, coupled with a weapon, could be devastating in combination with upcoming burst from C'Thun itself.

I couldn't resist! This is very much off the top of my head, and will probably need reworking, but let me know what you all think :)

Started playing HS in May, 2015. The bad news: I missed the excitement of 'Naxx out?' and GvG. The good news: I never met an Undertaker.

@linky: I like the 1st one, its simple and it helps with Cthun progression. I think that was always the problem, having some solid minions that could help you scale him. The art is kinda ... i dunno ... not bad, but its all too green :D I guess that is going to be a problem for many cards.

@Dermostatic: freeze? is that a thing Demon Hunters do? If you meant it mechanically as a stun, i dont think that will sit with ppl very well.

    Feedback -

Linkblade 91 - I like the C'thun love! Personally, I prefer the 4 mana Twilight Reaver. Hero attacking seems to be the main theme of DH, much like Healing is for Priest, or Armor for warrior, so having it tie in works. Triple Spin, unless I'm mistaken would be the only spell that buffs C'Thun? Which makes it stand out and feel weird. I feel the 6 mana Twilight Reaver could be limiting from a design standpoint, giving them that hefty an attack with one card. It still works, and no cards have been released so far that would directly conflict, so it's fine, I just prefer the 4 mana one. Balance feels fine.

Dermostatic - I have concerns with this for a few reasons. Firstly, I feel so much of the Demon Hunter identity is built around that Hero Power, and the ability to attack. This power improves their attack, but removes the ability to do so without a weapon. An increased attack, lifesteal, or a passive attack score would work better.  The battlecry also feels incredibly weak compared to most of the DK's.

As for my idea, I decided to look at what Loa they might use in Rastakhan's Rumble. After looking at a few unused ones, such as Bethekk and Paku I decided on Mam'toth. I decided to make it based on the Hero attacking as it seems to be such an integral part of the class.

Here are my ideas. I believe the best one is the Whisperer of the Depths, but it's also similar to link's idea:

Here's my idea. Having played DH a bunch, I decided to go for one of their spells. Fiery Brand in WoW when applied to an enemy, causes the enemy to deal less damage to you, and increase the amount of Fire damage you deal to the target. I thought that sounded like a great tool for DH in HS to save a little damage when attacking a minion, while also getting some extra damage out of your hero power to give you the ability to take down some larger minions.

The debate of whether DH would have been in the League of E.V.I.L. or one of the heroes will have to wait for another day...

    Feedback:

@linkblade91 - I have to agree with others that Twilight Reaver is the best of the 3. Fits the class identity perfect while incorporating C'Thun. Feels balanced too.

@Dermostatic - Not a fan of the Hero Power. I would think Lifesteal would be better. Maybe 1 mana +2 Attack with Lifesteal? The Battlecry also just seems way too weak compared to all the other DK cards.

@shaveyou - I really like this, but question the 10 health at 5 mana. This could easily be a 6/10 on curve. I'm looking at Blood-Queen Lana'thel and both Bolvar's. Maybe 7 or 8 health?

@Wailor - I personally like Spirit of the Snake the most.

@DescentOfDragonsOp - You have some missing capital letters, and watermark can't be classic. I'm guessing this is meant to be DH's Legendary Weapon from K&C? This is way too busted. The battlecry and deathrattle combined have the potential to summon 28/28 worth of stats, WITH Rush. If this is supposed to be from K&C, it can't summon a Rush minion because Rush wasn't in the game yet at that time. Furthermore, this would be the only 5/3 weapon in the game. It definitely needs to be toned WAY down.

@shaveyou I already shaved, thanks :P. I like the idea of the card. Fits well with the DH identity of constantly attacking. My only concern is that it's supper easy to remove and is pretty much a glorified beat stick. Maybe give it rush? I'm also not sure a mammoth is the best fit for Demon Hunters. It doesn't exactly scream "quick and nimble".

@Wailor Much as I LOVE the irony of Demon Hunters being in charge of EYES in Boom Labs, The mechanic would be very hard to implement in the game currently. Spirit of the Snake is cool. Whisperer of the Depths is also pretty good, but I don't know how broken it would be in C'Thun decks.

@Xarkkal Like the idea, probably as close as the class will get to Single Target removal. Might be a tad too strong, either cut the Twinspell or bump the cost by one.

@DescentOfDragonsOp This is beyond broken. Swarm of Locusts is 6 mana for 7/7 worth of stats. Your card, for 2 more mana, not only gives you 4 times that (bodies twice as big summoned twice), you also get up to 15 damage on the weapon. Tone it down a LOT.

Now, for my card. Considering I'm planning on playing Oddly Inspiring DH when it comes out, I've decided to give it some support:

Can Classic Demon Hunter card have Outcast mechanic?

Nevermind, I don't read that this one excluding Basic Classic, & Outland.

Will change it after, but aside from classic, is there any expansion using Outcast mechanic?

    Knowledge is Power

    Felboar

Un'Goro was one of the best expansions/metagames HS has ever had, so I'm going back to Un'Goro for this one.

Revised mine based on feedback. I'm contemplating Taunt or Rush as an additional, but ideally (although outside of the scope of this competition), the totem would give the Hero Windfury, allowing this to become much more of a threat.

    As for feedback:

meisterz39 - Felboar - I love it. It fits a DH theme, with multiple rush minions charging out, which in turn would super charge the Felboar. Cost and balance are good as well.

h0lysatan - Illidari Tracker - Outcast is considered the DH keyword, just like Combo for Rogue. Therefore, I think it's reasonable to assume any set would use this. The flavour could fit Witchwood. As for balance, this feels very strong on curve. Unless you are facing a hyper aggressive deck, this will likely come out as a 3/6 or 4/6 at worse, which is level with Militia Commander, but without the draw back of losing attack at the end of the turn. I would suggest a health reduction.

DescentofdragonsOP - Illidari rallying blade - So many issues. Capitals are needed for Rallying, Blade, Fill and Illidari. Watermark should be I'm assuming, Kobolds and Catacombs. Balance wise, this is Ashbringer stats, with that casts The Forest's Aid. Twice. And gives them Rush. So, assuming the weapon stats alone are 5 mana (Arcanite Reaper) and The Forest's Aid is 8 mana a piece, this is 21 mana for 8. Without counting the Rush element. I would scale this back to a 4/2 with the battlecry OR deathrattle.

Nirast - Illidari Defender - I'm a sucker for Inspire, so this I have a definite bias to this card. With a 2 mana HP I would worry this was underpowered, but because DH gets a 1 mana HP, I think this works quite well. I like it, but it might lack a little flash.

Xarkkal - Fiery Brand - My main concern with this is the permanent attack debuff. Adding this on a cheap Twinspell card means you can functionally remove a board spot (or more) for your opponent, instantly hamstringing them for the rest of the game. It's up to you if you want to retain that aspect, or just double down on the double damage, making it take double damage from all sources.

Wailor - Spirit of the Snake - Good solid Spirit card. Ties in with the base ability of DH, maybe lacks a little excitement.

Opthalmology Project - I really dislike this mechanic. I think it would be mechanically clunky in HS, and therefore I just dislike this card. Sorry.

Whisperer of the Depths - This is my favourite. It's a good tie in, linked C'thun with the Demon Hunter flavour and abilities. It's also nice to see a design that buffs C'thun's attack alone, which only Rogue got.

After feedback I've completely reworked the demon hunter DK idea. Kudos and thanks to Xarkkal for a much better hero power! I feel like this is much better, but maybe the hero power needs a different name? Is 7-mana too little for the DK?

My feedback in the spoiler below...

    Show Spoiler

@shaveyou: The card effect and art are both fantastic, but it should probably cost 7/8 mana. (Your update came through just before my post!) At 8-health I think the cost is fine now, but if you choose to add Taunt (very flavourful), I think it should cost 6.

@Wailor: Both Spirit of the Snake and Whisperer in the Depths are interesting. Personally, I prefer Whisperer as I'm partial to C'Thun and the nostalgia is too much to bear.

@Xarkkal: A very interesting debuff! I could still see it being balanced at -3 Attack since its a single target. Also, Twinspell doesn't need a colon after it :)

@DescentOfDragonsOp: Aside from the technical notes already pointed out, this weapon is b-r-o-k-e-n. Think it needs to go back to the drawing board.

@Nirast: An Inspire card I would have been happy to play. It's a well-statted, interesting card.

@meisterz39: Quite the pig you've got there. Combined with Demon Hunter's small Rush minions, this is surprisingly strong AND has a cool use of the Adapt mechanic. Thumbs up from me! (Also, I completely agree that Un'Goro was one of the most entertaining metas to play in!)

Started playing HS in May, 2015. The bad news: I missed the excitement of 'Naxx out?' and GvG. The good news: I never met an Undertaker.

I just want to see the second-in-command I picked (over Kayn) in Hearthstone. I'm trying to make this is a "solid" card, not creative or mind-blowing by any means. The ideas:

    1) Rush, because DHs are aggressive and proactive.

    2) Altruis the Sufferer believes that Illidan has become the very thing Demon Hunters have sworn to destroy, so he left (and has since reconciled with) the Illidari back in The Burning Crusade. I strongly considered making him a Hero Card to actually replace Illidan, but Illidan's power eclipses Altruis's, so I don't think he could usurp the Betrayer. In his exile, he befriended a Netherdrake named Nethrandamus, which I wanted to incorporate via his Outcast effect.

    3) Nethrandamus is very swift, so I wanted to give it either Rush or Charge, but I also wanted Altruis himself to have Rush. With Charge, Altruis can clear a key minion or a Taunt and let Nethrandamus punch face, or, of course, both can be used as removal.

    4) No particular reason why I chose Boomsday, except that it involved Netherstorm which is in Outland.

    5) I had no idea how to create/balance Nethrandamus as a summoned token, meaning I didn't know what Mana cost to give it, what rarity, should it have a Boomsday watermark (as it's non-collectible, I thought "nope"), etc. I just used a Flame of Azzinoth (HEH) as a baseline. I hope it's allowed, given the "we've given you space for up to one token for this competition" rule. I don't know because I haven't participated in past competitions.

    So my try is this card;

I couldn't find better place than Boomsday Project because it is a legendary spell. I know that Legendary spells of boomsday project have some relations with the legendary minions and shares a Lab theme but I really wanted to create a Legendary spell for this Competition so here it is. :)

Rejection of the Gift works different against all classes. You can see tokens at the spoiler below. If you destroy a Legendary class minion, it will give the Destiny of given class below.

    Card Tokens

    Show Spoiler

                        Druid                                                     Hunter                                                  Mage

                        Paladin                                               Priest                                                      Rogue

                         Shaman                                             Warlock                                                 Warrior

         Demon Hunter & Neutral

For example, if you destroy an Archmage Antonidas with Rejection of the Gift, it will add a Destiny of the Magic to your hand.

All of the Destiny cards have permanent effects except Destiny of the Hunt. I didn't want to give permanent effect for neutral legendaries just because it is more common to appear in games and also didn't want to give permanent effect against demon hunters because I think that it is more flavourful with this way.

I'm also open to all suggestion of balancing stuff etc.

Edit: Destiny of the Light should be read as "Your spells that deals damage now also restores health that much 'to your hero'." I will change it after a bit. Don't have time right now. :)

Feedback under the spoilers since there's quite a lot.

    Show Spoiler

@linkblade91: All three are cool, but I think Twilight Reaver is the best of the bunch.

@Dermostatic: I would bump the revised version up to 8 or 9 mana, but I like this version a lot more.

@shaveyou: The revised version is pretty good, but I would give it Rush and maybe bump it to 6 mana.

@Wailor: I actually think Spirit of the Snake is the best of the three, simple but very useful. I also like Whisperer, it's similar to linkblade's card but each has its own utility.

@Xarkkal: A little wordy, but I like it.

@Nirast: Great card, the Inspire effect is simply inspired! (badum-pssh)

    @meisterz39: It's basically a playable Kalaidosaur. I like it.

@h0lysatan: like shaveyou said, this could easily work as a Witchwood card without any major changes.

@dembro: This card needs some work. It doesn't seem like a major enough card to warrant being a Legendary. I would recommend either buffing Nethrandamus or coming up with a weirder effect for it. Also some aesthetic advice: 1) this would fit better in GvG or TGT, Boomsday had a much more specific theme and this doesn't fit it; 2) The Minion label on Altruis is only for tribes, so leave that blank; 3) Nethrandamus should be a basic minion, but with the same watermark as Altruis. The mana cost is fine for its stats.

@Economicaooc: This hero power is going to be a lot harder to trigger once you lose your basic hero power. I think the DH is too focused on their hero power to change it that radically.

@Almaniarra: I think this is a really fun idea, but it's not going to work for this competition since entries are restricted to one token per card. You'll either have to limit it to one Destiny spell or go back to the drawing board.

Anyway, I really like this theme and came up with a couple different cards. I'm leaning toward Orsis Guardian, but let me know what you think.

    Feedback time!

    Show Spoiler

shaveyou - Mam'toth is pretty cool: he fits with the DH gameplan well, and there's room for interpretation as-to how he functions with the Spirit. Knocking down his Health was probably a good idea.

Wailor - I like Whisper of the Depths, but we're competing on that front so maybe go with Spirit of the Snake instead? It's more unique, we won't be butting-heads, and people can interpret how the Snake loa would play out on their own.

Xarkkal - You don't need the colon after Twinspell. I think this is a unique way to implement Fiery Brand, and it plays well with a Control Demon Hunter who wants to use his Hero Power for clearing. Paired with a weapon like the Warglaives of Azzinoth and you've got a winning combination on your hands.

DescentOfDragonsOp - You cannot use the Classic watermark in this competition, and even then you wouldn't be able to have Rush in the Classic set anyway. There's a lot that needs to be cleaned up on this card, but it's too late because you've already submitted by the looks of it. The full title needs to be capitalized, "fill" and "Illidari" need to be capitalized, and there should be a period at the end of the text. I would say, next time, to slow down and make sure everything looks neat and tidy before you submit…or at least give us time to tell you that. (The card is also SUPER OP, but I didn't get into that).

Nirast - I'm concerned that you could hide Illidari Defender (you're missing an L, by the way) behind a Taunt and reap the benefits for multiple turns, which seems really good. Especially good if you combine it with a weapon like the Warglaives of Azzinoth, but that wouldn't be until much later in the game's lifespan so maybe it'll work out.

h0lysatan - Outcast appears to be an "evergreen" keyword for the Demon Hunter, much like Overload is for the Shaman, so go ahead and use Outcast for whatever set you want. Looking at your card itself, it appears to be a play on Midnight Drake, but Midnight Drake was bad so I wouldn't get too upset. Rush might be on the edge of too good, but it does make the card more interesting. If you're going to keep the Rush it should lose some Health.

meisterz39 - Felboar is pretty straight-forward, a good combination with Coordinated Strike and/or Command the Illidari. You're missing the Battlecry, though, and the period at the end of the sentence.

Dermostatic - Somebody was going to create that Battlecry; it was inevitable lol :P I think the Hero Power is much better; that was a good change. As for the cost of the Hero card itself, think of this way: you need 1-mana for the Armor (Iron Hide), 2-mana for the Hero Power (Dinomancy), and the rest goes into the Battlecry (plus possibly +1 mana for the "packaging"). Is "Outcast is always active" worth 4-mana? I'd say it's fine.

dembro - Unfortunately for you, Altruis the Outcast and Nethrandamus have been revealed just now to be actual cards in the game, meaning you'll have to go back to the drawing board on this one.

Almaniarra - Unfortunately, you have WAY too many tokens for this particular competition. We currently have the rules restricting people to one token in addition to their base card. As Hordaki noted, you'll have to rework the concept.

Hordaki - Take the Wasteland seems pretty scary, having the reward be both a Battlecry and a Deathrattle. You're guaranteed to fill the board on the first go; the fact that you can then refill the board is nuts. Orsis Guardian seems fine, if a bit plain; I'm worried if he lacks the "spice" to accrue a lot of high votes. Omega Felblade is similarly alright (nice use of Illidan's alternate costume heh). All-in-all, I think I like Take the Wasteland the most.

This seems fine; good, even. It follows the whole Explorer concept of having only one keyword + the Battlecry. It might be a little obvious and/or plain, but it's still a fine idea

I'm most keen on Kara, but I made her a bit weak in my opinion, but that is because I'm a huge fan of Dr. Primestone on Hearthcards gallery, who reduces the cost of all cards with all number on them being prime. For the tournament purposes, this should be buffed a bit, considering there are mostly mediocre Demons after Year of the Dragon outside of Demon Hunter.

I like Kara, but one of the primary weaknesses of the Demon Hunter is supposed to be card generation. She kind of spits in the face of that, by creating not one but three Demons to add into your deck. If you're okay with splashing outside the DH's comfort zone a little then that's fine, but it's something to take into consideration.

Abandon Soul has one too many Ds. I like this card because it brings enemy minions down to a level where the DH can kill them with a weapon, making for a more Control-y vibe. It is, however, incredibly weak compared to Hunter's Mark, even after that card was nerfed. If we're talking one-to-one in terms of usage, that is.

I'm a big fan of Pit Commander. I'm dazed by the idea of this Big Demon Demon Hunter deck, and I'm all in to support the archetype. About Abandon Soul, it can be used multiple times, whereas Hunter's Mark, while stronger, can only be played at two copies at minimum. I could also remove Echo and apply the effect to all enemy minions.

    Well, Thanks for feedbacks.

Somehow, I've skipped the one token restriction part but I can't rework that card because it loses all of its flavour if i do that so I want to craft another one.

Flavor text: "Illidan was born with amber eyes, at the time a sign of a great destiny - however, that destiny brought him an inconsistency."

It is a League of Explorers card which the Discover mechanic has firstly arrived to Hearthstone. However, even if it has discover It works different than it and gives you other two choices instead of the choice you make.

Outcast effect will make you discover minions instead of spells and will make you draw 2 minions that you didn't choose.

Thanks for the feedback all. Shoutout again to Xarkkal for the hero power idea and improvement, and a big thanks to linkblade91 for a much more useful way to think about mana costing. Using that advice, I've decided to keep the cost of the DK at 7 (I feel like permanent Outcast is strong, but you don't get any immediate impact from playing the DK), although I have changed the wording to be more clear ('active' makes more sense with an aura effect).I have also changed the art and name of the hero power because I felt it sounded too much like your hero would receive some icy blades with the previous one.

Seems much more fitting for a reborn Demon Hunter :) I think I'm going to go ahead and submit tomorrow - if anyone has any more feedback over the next 12 hours I'll have a look, and I'll be checking this page regularly as I'm mostly restricted to my home for 3 weeks. Yikes.

Some more feedback from what I've seen:

    Show Spoiler

@dembro: I think it's been pointed out already but unfortunately these are now official HS cards!

@economicaooc: The quest itself is fine, your hero power should say 'Passive Hero Power' in bold at the top. How does the lifesteal work exactly? Does your hero gain it permanently? If so, you need to specify that, but I think you'd be fine without it. Also, I'm sure you can find great art to suit a Demon Hunter hero power somewhere :) Artstation tends to have a lot of quality fan art, recommend trying that out.

@Almaniarra: The rules for this week are that you're allowed 'up to one' token, so this spell is a no-no.

@Hordaki: For me, Orsis Guardian most fits the flavour of Demon Hunter as a 'rush-in, bash-stuff' build. Good for removing a pesky taunt or two. Clean and elegant, I like it!

@anchorm4n: Much like with Orsis Guardian, this fits Demon Hunter's flavour really well. Maybe drop the health or attack by 1, but otherwise this a solid card.

@Neoguli: Of these, Abandon Soul is functionally and flavourfully your best bet. If you want those Witchwood vibes, keep the Echo effect. Another idea to consider might be by using Warlock's Curse of Weakness as inspiration, reducing health by -X (maybe permanently) or halving health across the board.

Started playing HS in May, 2015. The bad news: I missed the excitement of 'Naxx out?' and GvG. The good news: I never met an Undertaker.

    Hello Dermostatic,

Thank you for your comments, and the clarification on passive hero powers. The lifesteal was as in the warlock death knight, just applying to the hero power.

I have revised the power to cut down on wordiness:

I guessed we'd have a Demon Hunter comp, but it's a pretty hard thing to judge. None of us have played demon hunter yet, none of us really know what works well. BUT, the idea of making a demon hunter card for an old set is a helpful framing device. Not surprised to see Deathknight hero cards, quests and other big flashy mechanics from old sets.

Thanks for your advice. I suppose this version will be the best to send, because cutting a minion's Health in half does seem weak when it costs too much, but can also be dangerous when it costs too little. I opted for the AoE approach and runding up to give the card a bit more functionality and deal with the afromentioned problems. Now... how do I word the effect... xd

Hi everyone. After an underwhelming return to the card design contest last week, I am hyped to enter again this week. I loved Un'Goro immensely, so I am excited to bring Demon Hunter some Un'Goro cards.

At the moment I am toying with a few different versions of this concept. Which name/effect do you all think works best?

@Inconspicuosaurus I would probably pick the last one. Adapt seems to be most effective on wide boards, and with cards like Command the Illidari or Umberwing, this could bolster Token DH.

@Rippy probably a quite easy requirement and for an appropiate reward. Just be careful a notch, because free Hero Powers can limit design space.

I kow you've already submitted, but Start of Game: was not a keyword until The Witchwood. Yes, it was retroactively applied to Prince Malchezaar, but if we're not having Naxxramas cards with Poisonous, for example, then unfortunately I think this'll be disqualified.

The Illidari have always been cool with Khadgar, so of course they come to the rescue.  This always you to stall an enemy minion from attacking for a turn. In the meantime, you can find something to destroy it.

After a bit of brainstorming I came up with this card:

Obviously I haven't found any good art for it yet. I will keep looking for some but I would appreciate some help.

Aside from the missing art, what do you think?

It's been a very long time since I've made a custom card and this will be my first competition that I'm going to enter! I would really appreciate any feedback you got for this card. don't hold back on what you think, If you think the card is too strong or too weak I want to know about it. also if I've made any error in the card (Capitalization, misspelling, Punctuation.)  My goal is to make a really flavorful demon hunter card but also somewhat balanced. Thank you all in advance who respond!

@Rippy: I really like the design and effect, and it would be some cool support for this apparent Demon Demon Hunter we're getting. I do however agree with Dermostatic that it should be a Witchwood card to fit that effect.

@Neoguli: Unfortunately, the Illidari summoned aren't demons :( But there are thankfully plenty of other small demons the card can work off of. I'll take your advice and go for the 3rd one :)

@Shivershine: I love the thematics of this card, and it would be a really cool tool for Demon Hunter to maintain that characteristic weakness of lack of remoal, whilst still giving them a control tool. I wonder if it is maybe a little over-costed, as it seems like a worse Sap in most ways, but i guess that is made up for by the Twinspell aspect.

@Kansas: I like it! I nice little tool for the Hero attacking aspect of DH, and it fits very nicely into Witchwood. The fantasy is a little off, as you shouldn't really damage yourself by attacking with throwing knives, but then this is the game where you whack someone with your face while wielding a bow, so... Perhaps that could be resolved with a simple name change? How about "Sharpen Claws" or something? It would fit the transformation theme of Witchwood too.

@CovenantKevlar: Haha, this is awesome. I am one of the minority who really liked Kharazan, and this fits so perfectly into its chaotic themes. Well done. In terms of balance, I'd say it's pretty close to perfect. At most I'd say it should maybe be one mana more?

@shivershine I like the flavor of your card Imprison and the card art fits very nicely. I am worried about the power level of the card. I actually think the card is a bit under-powered! I am comparing it to Ray of Frost  and I suddenly realize that maybe you could add a bit more power to it. I also think a mana reduction wouldn't help as much.

@Inconspicuosaurus Out of the 3 cards you've made, My favorite is the 2nd option Lakkari Survivalist. Your first option is also good too, reminds me a bit of Crackling Razormaw. Your third option I feel would be a bit too powerful. when I look at cards like Warglaives of Azzinoth I can't help but think the ability to adapt your demons 4 times in a turn could get a bit crazy!

Good points. On reflection, I think number 1 is too similar to Crackling Razormaw and number 3 is too OP, or at least would limit design space too much to be a realistic release. I'm going to go for number 2 (with number 3's name, because I think I've decided I like that one best).

Thanks a lot, it looks great!

@Inconspicuosaurus (by the way that is an awesome username) I don't think the flavor is a very big deal for two reasons. One, it really isn't that inconsistent with other Hearthstone cards. Like you mentioned, you take damage when you attack with Eaglehorn Bow or Rhok'delar. And two, the "throwing" aspect of the card isn't supposed to be the theme. The point isn't that you are "throwing" the knives, but that you have a lot of small things that deal small amounts of damage.

But as they say, the customer is always right. If people think I should change the theme because the flavor is off then I will.

When it comes to the flavor I think it's fine as-is for the most part (although you are tripping on Fan of Knives's toes a bit). My one concern is how strong the card is. I'm not saying it's too good, but this could stand-in for Inner Demon, or go further and become a Pyroblast. That just seems too...I don't know, reliable for a 1-mana Rare? Too versatile? Maybe it should be an Epic.

*shrugs* I'm having a hard time conveying what it is that bugs me so. Can't find the right word.

It might make more sense to raise it to 2 mana and 2 attack, that way it'd still have the desired effect but less flexible than it is as a 1 mana spell. Also all of the Echo cards in Witchwood are either 2 or 3 mana, so it'd be more consistent with the actual game.

I prefer the 2-mana version. Outcast feels tacked on, at least to me, and bumping it to 3-mana makes it much harder to combo the effect with removal, your Hero Power, and/or a weapon.

@Xarkkal: I agree with linkblade91 that the (2)-cost version is better. Overall an interesting spell :)

@thepowerofcheese: Hadn't thought about this effect. Even with just one Outcast effect going off this grants you serious value for (2), I like it (I may be biased cos it would work well with the Death Knight I constructed for this comp :P ).

Yeah we have it set up where you can only include one additional token for this prompt, as a "trial run" for allowing tokens. We'd prefer you not combine the Hero Power and Weapon into the same image, even though that really sucks for your idea :(

Well, one of the tokens is just the Frostmourne weapon, that's typically generated by the Lich King and Arfus. I'll just include the Hero Power token then and put a hover over for Frostmourne in the description.

You should probably reconsider the token allowances. Lots of flashy legendaries involve more than 1 token, like quests, hero cards, even some spells and minions.

Ugh, okay, this is really frustrating. In the description text, I used the card tag on Frostmourne, but as you see, it defaults to the adventure version, not the token generated by the Lich King or Arfus. Now my entry is wrong. Frustrating!

Hopefully the Hero Card text makes it clear which version I actually meant. If a mod can edit my entries description to display the actual frostmourne card, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Edit: It should be fixed, although I was not capable of doing so myself. Just...don't make it a habit of this :P In the future, you can use a card's specific ID to get the desired version of it; in this case, 5746 should give the correct Frostmourne.
