  • Blizzard Returns to Gamescom to Celebrate The War Within and Vessel of Hatred

"Overwatch 2 will have a joint stand with Porsche, highlighting their new collaboration featuring a life-sized D.Va statue modeled after the new all-electric Macan"

This sounds extremely cursed, yet also extremely intriguing at the same time. I'm both excited and also terrified to see it.

  • All Perils in Paradise New Card Reveals for June 20 - Day 2 [Finished]

    Quote From dapperdog

    Card review on day 2:

    ...

Carry-on Grub - Its a strong card...for arena. In constructive, if you need card draw this would not be in the forefront of your mind. Its too expensive if you need options in a pinch, and in hearthstone nowadays even classes like hunter can generate/draw cards for days so this card has little to no niche.

I'm wondering if the Carry-On Grub's intended use-case is with something like the Paladin's new Legendary, Sunsapper Lynessa. Draw two cards - preferably Legendaries or something important - then play the Suitcase to dupe them with Lynessa. That or some other situation where putting the cards into the spell is technically a good thig.

  • All Perils in Paradise New Card Reveals for June 20 - Day 2 [Finished]

    Card review on day 2:

Cruise Captain Lora - Its really hard to evaluate this one because I dont think its poorly costed but at the same time, playing a 7 mana card that dumps two underwhelming locations is about as suicidal as it gets, even for druid. On the other hand, you can easily get puppet theater and completely roll your opponents to hell, which means this card will at least be viable should the meta turn greedy. Personally I think this card can only truly succeed in a reno deck because theres usually way more broken things that can be done for 7 mana. New marin, for instance.

Arena boss though. Id be surprised if this wasnt an instant pick there.

Bumbling Bellhop - Its just a poor filler card for reno decks. Theres simply no reason to play this card unless youre very specifically playing loads of expensive spells. Not to mention that putting two 3/3s on board nowadays in hearthstone is about as laughable as it gets.

Customs Enforcer - Razorscale found some niche so this card will too. But really, this is a 5 star card by sole virtue of being an attempted counter to a much hated hearthstone play style. A card that some would argue should just be an inclusion into core sets, with a diamond skin sold at 50 bucks.

  • New Neutral Minion - Customs Enforcer

    This does nothing for Plagues.

    Reprint Steamcleaner already.

  • New Neutral Minion - Customs Enforcer

They have printed a solution to the problem of decks that generate insane numbers of cards! In some cases this will also resolve a bit of the mana cheat when people add new cards that also have reduced costs; Now we just need more anti-mana cheating solutions and maybe the game will be feel more playable as a whole. I definitely don't hate mana cheat, nope, not me, couldn't be me. /s

The name gets a 10/10 because thematics. What a good name.

  • All Perils in Paradise New Card Reveals for June 20 - Day 2 [Finished]

I think it was kinda cool since its rare that you'll see that happen.

As someone managing reveals for the day though, man that threw me for a loop. For video reveals, I always seek through them quick to find the card images which are almost always front and center and take up most of the frame which makes finding them easy.

    Not so much this time.

It's funny where my brain goes when that happens. At first I thought wait, did they seriously not reveal a card? Is this just a video that is promoting the expansion and the card is going to appear elsewhere? Quick, to the card gallery, refresh Twitter, go check their blog, oh hey maybe reddit- Then I zipped back to the little skewed gameplay I had seen while seeking and yup, there we have it. Crisis averted!

Card reveal period is always a fun time :D

Kinda weird that the reveal was in a "Blink and you'll miss it" moment. Definitely should've lingered on it some more. Really fun video otherwise.

It was a pretty solid reveal video with plenty of community members being a part of it alongside some Blizzard devs. Feels a bit like the guacboi era.

  • The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Is a New Zelda Game Where You Play as the Princess Herself

Oh wow, Super Princess Peach, that was almost 20 years ago! The DS had so many titles, it's really no surprise it was forgotten by me (and I suspect many others). I was still rocking a Game Boy Advance when the DS was prime time haha.

The CD-i games don't really count imo. They were simply IP licensed by Nintendo (what a mistake) and if I recall correctly, Nintendo doesn't consider them to be as official games either. That's solid trivia though and technically from a "its a video game" so definition here matters. Similarly, Cadence of Hyrule, which was an absolutely incredible game and oh I so want to play it again at some point, it doesn't fit because it's third party.

Though Echoes of Wisdom might also be third party as well to a degree. Grezzo made the Link's Awakening remake and it's quite possible they are responsible for this title too. Even with Nintendo overlords oversight, I'd be picking some weird battles if I didn't give it the third party designation as well. Man, Zelda as a series is messed up and certainly begs the question of what even counts as a Zelda game if you want to define it. The Capcom titles jam hard though.

A trifecta game with Zelda, Samus, and Princess Peach though, you're onto something! Super Smash Bros has entered the chat.

  • How to Prepare For Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree Expansion

Steam claims the DLC will unlock in less than an hour, so significantly earlier than the map shows for my region (CEST). We'll see which is correct. Edit: The Steam counter just jumped up 5 hours, so unfortunately the map was right.

I had a relatively easy time defeating Mohg, skipping his second phase entirely. It was probably a combination of having a bleed build combined with being over-leveled, as I only found out about his existence when I started reading wikis in the end game; I played the early game avoiding most spoilers.

  • The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Is a New Zelda Game Where You Play as the Princess Herself

Funnily enough, this isn't the first time either princess is playable in a console game. Zelda was playable in Zelda: Wand of Gamelon and Zelda's Adventure for the CD-i (both of which received less than favourable reviews), while Peach was the main character in Super Princess Peach on the DS and, uhm... Princess Toadstool's Castle Run, a McDonald's watch toy form 1990.

Zelda is also playable in Candance of Hyrule, while Peach was a playable character in a bunch of 2D Mario games, starting with the English version of Mario 2.

All that to say, it's great to have both of them playable in high-budget games on the main console, even if the gameplay is quite different from the mainline games. Now give me a game where you can play as both of them and Samus, I don't care how contrived it is!

  • Nintendo World Championship NES Edition is coming out July 18

I've had my physical pre-order secured for this title since last month and I'm super stoked about it. New things happening every week with leaderboards sounds like my cup of tea and I just hope that every week there's something on there that I'm already familiar with.

The NES catalog has some awesome titles but damn I am not as familiar with all of them as I probably should be. Super Nintendo was more my thing growing up so hopefully we get one of those next year.

  • Donkey Kong Country Returns HD Is Coming to the Nintendo Switch January 16

I had completely forgotten about Donkey Kong Country Returns being a game. I never owned it on the Wii series so I will 100% be picking this up. Tropical Freeze was a ton of fun, so much so I bought it twice (WiiU & Switch), so getting some more DK is A+.

  • Super Mario Party Jamboree Brings the Fun Starting October 17

I'm looking forward to seeing more about this closer to launch. On occasion I have a group that I play the currently released Mario Party with and we have a great time so this looks like it has some good potential! The 20 player online mode looks very Fall Guys/Battle Royale which is a huge win.

I just hope that the gameboard gameplay is a bit quicker than previous Switch iterations of Mario Party.

  • The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Is a New Zelda Game Where You Play as the Princess Herself

Alright so this might be one of my favourite things ever.

The Link's Awakening look makes the game a 10/10 already, though I really hope they don't drop frames like crazy. For such a simple looking game, it was mindblowing that they were having difficulty running it on the Switch; Clearly it was poorly optimized.

But damn. The puzzles in this game are going to be good with all the different objects allowing you to solve them all in different ways. Everyone's brains work differently and it will be very interesting to see how people solve them in their own way. It has huge social potential, kinda like how Breath of the Wild had shrines solved in very unique ways as people found ways to break the game.

Getting to play as Zelda though? The Legend of Link! This makes it Nintendo's second title this year that will have brought a female protagonist who would otherwise be a background character in the series and I love it. I can't even recall how many times you've seen people ask for a Zelda game where you play as Zelda or in the case of Peach from the Mario series, how often folks wanted more with her.

The special Switch version is very cool too, its just a shame that its a Switch Lite. I don't really understand the Switch Lite. Sure, it's a bit smaller which makes portability better, but the complete lack of being able to dock it is nonsense and with the poor durability of Joycons, having your Joycons built right into the system makes it a bad choice for long-term playability. Also, Nintendo would be the ones to drop a new fancy skin for a console when the "Super Switch" is right around the corner. It's definitely an item the collector's will buy though so it's a easy way to get rid of extra stock of the lite that isn't selling. Anyway, I didn't mean to make this all about the Switch Lite, more Zelda games is awesome!

  • New Neutral Minion - Gorgonzormu

All puns aside, this could turn out to be a really good card. Drop this on curve, turn 7 Zarimi and three 10-cost minions. Big ouch.

  • Four New Games Coming to Nintendo Switch Online - Zelda: 4 Swords Adventure, Metroid Zero Mission, Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, and Perfect Dark

Played a ton of perfect dark with friends back in the day.  There were 30 challenge levels to solve and so were at such a busted difficulty level, you and your buds had to come up with really cheesy tactics like backing into a hole and trying to bug out the AI into sneaking out a kill against crazy bots… much shouting with agony and success until we could clear them all.

And I’ve played so many MetroidVania games I’m not sure if I could go back to the original (though maps are appreciated).

  • Summer Speculations: Predicting Tourist Pairings in Hearthstone’s Perils in Paradise Expansion

I think there's a Demonic hero skin for Priest in the shop right now. So maybe Priest will be collecting a bunch of demons as vacation souvenirs?

Force majeure clauses are crucial in contracts, covering unforeseen circumstances that could hinder performance. For instance, iforgot.apple.com experiencing downtime could trigger force majeure. It's wise to review such clauses to understand rights and responsibilities during unexpected events, ensuring contractual obligations align with practical realities.

  • All Perils in Paradise New Card Reveals for June 18 - Day 1

Bit of a weirdly themed card for a vacation expansion. Here, have some extra cheese on this paradise island coz that totally makes sense 😅

As for the viability of the card, it's definitely flexible for sure so might crop up as extra cheesy value

  • Madame Goya Banned in Duos Battlegrounds, Harth Stonebrew Hand Confusion, & More in Hearthstone's Known Issues 29.6

I saw a few posts on Reddit with screenshots of craziness with Goyas buddy and either ETC or the nameless one.  Really easy to have infinite copies of the same tier 6 minion by a really low turn, which was breaking some games.  Made me want to stay with BG solo until it was looked at…

  • All Perils in Paradise New Card Reveals for June 18 - Day 1

Just one card until two days later. But at least this card is playable.

Basically you play this in zarimi priest and gotten out on curve it just wins you the game. Depending on how consistent the combo works, it might actually get zarimi nerfed again or alternatively this card because that's just so much stats on one card.

The drawback is obviously the card gets substantially worse the later you play it off curve but that has never stopped players from putting cards in their deck. Im expecting good tidings from this card's viability.
