  • Hearthstone's 29.6.1 Patch Brings Balance Changes to Standard, Twist and Battlegrounds

I wish they would just bite the bullet on Reno and make his board clear symmetrical. They wouldn't even have to change the animation. As it stands, the card is just way too flexible as an "oh shit" button while also being a lethal pusher.

Some of these cards are pretty neat, but the flavor between the art and text on Lifesaving Aura doesn't make any sense.

  • New Paladin Minion - Sanc'Azel

The location plus a quick explanation for how the card works from Leo:

    Sanc'Azel Card Image

    Here's how Sanc'Azel works:

The Attack of the minion is tied to the Attack-buff of the location

The Health of the minion is tied to the Durability of the location

If you play Blessing of Kings on Sancazel (+4/+4), making him a 7/12, and he attacks a 5/5, he will be a 7/7 location. The location then gives a friendly minion +7 Attack and Rush, and becomes a 7/6 minion because 1 Durability was lost from using the location.

Also worth noting: if you attack -> use location -> attack, then he will be a CLOSED location

I don't think it is that OP in a handbuff deck. After all number of usages is limited by the number of enemy minions and by your board side.

  • Japan to Get a New Licensed Steam Controller From HORI This October

Maybe it's interesting if the gyros turn out to be useful, but otherwise I don't really see a significant advantage over other controllers, at least when used with a PC where I also have access to keyboard and mouse for games that weren't primarily designed for controllers.

I think the 8 comes from the minion's health, so it needs to attack an enemy minion to transform (Rush), therefore it will probably take some damage before using the 8 times. Except if you hold 8 turns and attack only the enemy hero, but then it would be real slow.

  • All Perils in Paradise New Paladin Card Reveals for June 27 - Day 7 [Finished]

I was thinking it worked like Remornia, where its uses are directly tied to the amount of Health it has left after attacking but I'm not 100% on that because it feels like that would be insane in a Handbuff deck.

  • All Perils in Paradise New Paladin Card Reveals for June 27 - Day 7 [Finished]

For anyone wondering about the location.

Since the location is usable immediately, my guess is that you can buff a minion up to 8 times assuming the card itself can keep attacking and somehow not die.

Edit: Now confirmed by team5. The location will close after you use it. So you cant actually keep attacking and buffing in the same turn.

For what it's worth, I think the "Neon Yellow" looks like puke lol. Legitimately terrible choice: it could've been burnt orange, or a nice Biscayne blue, or even red like the Steam Deck logo! Hell, be different and make it look like fake wood; anything but that!

  • New Mage Minion - Raylla, Sand Sculptor

"Sand is for sculpting!" - the OG sand sculptor!

  • All Perils in Paradise New Card Reveals for June 26 - Day 6 [Finished]

Raylla, Sand Sculptor - Comparable to vex crow, probably playable, though we should perhaps ask what is such a card that requires plenty of cheap spells doing in a deck that allows paladin cards to be played. So perhaps its an indicator that pally's identity relates to cheap spells. It would be interesting to see how this card can work because its kinda broken if it ends up working well.

Tide pools - Perhaps the most broken location, maybe just even with puppet theatre and will very likely be nerfed. Aside from the fact that you can easily just put this into big spell mage, it can potentially allow you to cast three spells immediately after playing this, and on top of that cheapens seaside giant by a massive 6 mana in one turn. Yeah, Id be surprised if this card isnt nerfed, assuming that mage can hold up in the meta, which I suspect it can.

Seabreeze Chalice - The best drink card so far, but we've only really seen one. Does the job of clearing board really well, or just strike 6 to face for 3 mana.

Marooned Archmage - Yes its mana cheat, but its only for one card and theres an exactly zero chance it lives till the next turn. So for me, its just shit really. Unless your opponents an idiot, you'll never reap anywhere near the potential of this card.

Now, let's address the archetype for mage, which is big spells. I think there is a world where it can work, but Im also a bit skeptical whether it'll ever take the meta as far as it seem. For one thing, it forces you to cram alot of expensive cards into your deck, where only three cards allowing you to cheat them out. And secondly, the moment you start playing your power cards, handbuff pally can have easily dropped 20/20 worth of stats and youre already at the brink of death. Sometimes you play Surfalopod on 5, then Under the Sea on 6 and drew Tsunami, putting such an incredible amount of stats on board. And then there are times where all those cards are in your hand, and you whiff your first three turns hard and die.

We'll see how well it'll go for mage next expansion.

I really like that Raylla's signature art is the same scene as her original art but from a different angle. Cool touch.

EDIT: I guess she actually has a different outfit. Kinda ruins it, but I still like the concept.

The comment you cited concerning a future Nazjatar expansion is really fascinating. Nazjatar is an underwater zone in World of Warcraft that was added with the Battle for Azeroth expansion. The fact that Dean is questioned about it hints that it may be included in a future update or expansion. emoji

  • New Neutral Minion - Incindius

Maybe we're looking at this for a super slow deck that wants additional inevitability (as if there's not enough of that in Standard already) because it's not going to be the most reliable way of keeping an opposing board in check. I mean, if you Shudderblock it you're looking at 15 spells that deal 2 damage (at least, assuming it survives to the end of the turn you play it) to the opponent when drawn which is technically enough to kill them, given enough time. So a Meme OTK buildaround at worst.

  • New Neutral Minion - Adaptive Amalgam

This is just a nice cheap Amalgam with slight upside. I'm not convinced that Deathrattle is going to be super relevant unless you're finding ways to tutor it out of your deck (draw it with Mes'Adune the Fractured!), but it has plenty of play in all sorts of tribal decks. I'm thinking Mechs are most potent thanks to Magnetic, but Pirates shouldn't be overlooked and we shouldn't underestimate the potential of a cheap (and sorta unending) Naga for DH.

  • New Neutral Minion - Sleepy Resident

Love it. I'm not convinced this is going to see a ton of play, but I like the option for Control decks to get a slight respite from aggression in the early game and buy themselves a turn where they (hopefully) don't take any minion damage. It's nice to have options.

  • New Neutral Minion - Wave Pool Thrasher

The Battlecry feels too ineffectual as a board wipe, and seeing as how the Deathrattle counterracts said Battlecry I'm thinking it's a bit too risky to run unless the meta is very specifically heavy on 1 Toughness creatures.
