There's no particular reason that the best decks in Wild have to be all about face damage. It's perfectly possible for the Hearthstone team to give us stronger control tools and make face damage weaker. They've previously stated they want their game to be more "fun and interactive" - surely they haven't entirely abandoned that design goal? So I think it's a legitimate complaint that Wild mode is often not fun, not interactive, and could be improved in those aspects with some targeted nerfs.
Happy to hear that! Flux told me a decision about how to proceed with the series will be made next week after the holidays. I'm looking forward to checking out your deck!
I'll specify that it adds one copy to your deck, but I think I'll keep 'duplicate' as-is, since that's how the Highlander cards also phrase it.
anchorm4n
Very original! I'm assuming you could put both in your starting deck?
I'm a big fan of these, but afraid you currently won't want to play them, because they're expensive and the Deathrattle will take a while to be effective. I enjoy the on-draw effect, but they simply work better with Battlecries. I'm also not entirely happy about the 'Fireball in the face' on the Fire form. I think giving it AOE would probably fix the 'let's just put this in my aggro deck and not worry about getting the Deathrattle'.
If you do intend to give them names, may I suggest giving them a single name (because they are reincarnations of each other) and adding something along the lines of ", Fire Form" and ", Ice Form".
Wailor
I like the idea and it fits the prompt well. You've already adjusted the stats well, so I've got nothing to add.
I was expecting to see festive/wintery cards for this comp, so those might get bonus points from me.
"...The answer is yes! Yep, it is true, the brand new North America website is up and running and we are announcing our first class to open the NA tournament test runs this Sunday 27/12/21! So, lets do a review on few things to consider, in case you're thinking of participating in the NA Class Master tournament:
The Class Master series is currently hosted on 121gameon! Please register on their site and don't forget to select your country's flag!
The Class Master tournament test runs are 100% free to join!
You all know by now that they pay all participants a symbolic amount that can buy you... *drum roll* candy! (candy makes kids happy)
It's a wild decks showdown
It's a best of three format (the first player to win two rounds wins the game)
You can use from 1 up to 3 different decks during your games
You must be a resident of Americas (North and south America) to participate
Join us on discord for easy access to contact the organizer (Dimitris Giordas), to get passwords for access to your finals, any last minute changes and more!
The Class Master series is for all ages and all skill/deck levels. After the test runs are concluded, by gathering data from the games of our players, we're making an effort to create skill divisions!
Skill divisions: Based on the victory/defeat ratio of our players during the test runs, we're thinking of breaking participants in three different categories:
Novice
Intermediate
Master
Once the divisions are created and based always to player participation and interest shown, we're to try match players of the same skill/deck power to compete with each other and either get promoted to a higher division, or rule their class as Class Masters in their division. So, do not get frustrated if the competition is fierce and you can't win, keep on playing so next round we can match you with players closest to your skill/deck level. More on this in a future post!
Although we were to launch NA tournament test runs in late 2022, we thought to give it an early try just to get the pulse from the North America Hearthstone enthusiasts. In case our concerns of opening early are valid and participation levels are very low, we will close the NA test runs and revisit them late 2022 as was scheduled from the beginning.

Honestly, Im beginning to have second thoughts about Tour Guide. 90% of the time I'd mulligan this just to get a better chance at getting Wildfire, which is honestly the best card in this list. I might at some point experiment with Shivering Sorceress or add in one Devolving Missiles to have a better matchup against paladin and priest, because tall decks really tests this deck.
I find that Multicaster is really not required because the deck is fairly midrange, and most of the time Im just playing two cards per turn at most. I'd rather be discovering stuff, and there's 5 tutor cards in there already.
Not having Ice Barrier still peeves me, but I think its better to chance it off discovers because some games its just useless, and you'd want to be aggressive if you can. Might experiment with Fire Sale in exchange for Starscryer if things get too aggressive.
Edit: I think I should at least mention that Rune of the Archmage is still just too good to ignore completely. Its not 'random bs go' because the spells will target enemies whenever it can, so 90% of the time it'll just clear board, or do some small damage to opponent's face. Mage has a massive weakness to tall boards, and this is an easy way out of it. Maybe 2x would be too much, but if we're sticking to the big spells ping mage idea, then at least 1 would be fitting.
I had become an in-game friend of Swizard before his "fame", after playing against him in Wild ladder ages ago, both using interesting decks. You know, the old way.
Don't worry mate, they will nerf or ban Hunter and Warrior questlines soon enough and you'll come back to us!
I see you've already decided, but I'll let you know I'm also a fan of Swift Assassin.
R
Being able to hit the hero seems fine to me, since it would just be an underpowered Fireball.
I'm a big fan of the Combo, but I do feel like 8 damage is a tad much. 6 would probably be fine. I know it doesn't double +Spell Damage that way, but that seems less important on cards that already deal quite some damage.
I also don't like how the effect is phrased. 'Deals' should probably be 'Deal' and the 'double damage' not specifically referring to the 4 damage feels weird to me, although I won't deduct for it.
Nirast
Healing Hail feels chaotic and doesn't really make sense.
Hail Storm is nice. The Combo makes sense to me and fits the art. But would maybe be fine as a 4-cost.
linkblade91
I like the second version of Scouting Owl better, since revealing doesn't really fit Druid's identity. But an unspecified cost increase feels weird, so I would probably make it target your opponent's next card and remove the enter in the middle.
anchorm4n
It should probably have a school and feels a little strong. You should probably reduce the cost reduction.
Right now you'll always want to wait keep it until you want to use Flamestrike or have Lethal, so you might consider reducing the costs permanently. A 2 or 3 Mana reduction would work well because you get two powerful spells in any case, but you can also get your Mana back.
Demonxc95
Seems balanced considering you need a Shadow spell + 3 Mana to get the effect, so you don't have a crazy amount of Mana to spend on minions. It's also less annoying due to the cost limit, but could end up helping your opponent that way. Overall a nice card, but it could be fine just returning your own minions, since that's what it already focuses on.
New iteration of my card. Since the effect requires you to perform a miracle turn to make it worthwhile, I figured out a 1 mana minion will be better.
AeroJulwin
I quite like this card. I guess it only shuffles one copy of each duplicate, right? For instance, if you have two Frostbolt, you'd get one extra (and not two).
R
I find the name a bit too descriptive, if that makes sense. Other than that, pretty cool effect.
anchorm4n
I find the effects a bit too strong, considering you don't need to pay any mana to get them. Besides that, the names don't seem appropriate for legendary cards. I would come up with fancy names that are still related to their respective element. Something like Flamus and Glacius but less lame lol
Yeah, I dislike the bundles. The Rexxar skin is rad but I'm not a big fan of the others in the bundle. I do like all the "cheer" skins though, but damn that's a high price to pay =/
I love the tyrande and valeera skins and dont care about the others and ofc theyre both in seperate bundles aswell
I understand where you're coming from, winrate alone isn't a sole measure of deck performance but when you measure the performance over time it gets far more informative.
Like gangplank Sejuani for example another meta bilgewater staple is always just happy at the top of the meta, reminds me of what Shen decks used to be...I consider pirate aggro to be similar based solely on its solid performance longterm.
But when updates come in and new decks aren't outperforming these old archetypes why play them at all? Then you run into a problem where longterm players just get bored of seeing the same thing over and over,
Like you could play Kenin right now with bounce girl, there are versions of that deck that do very well and are arguable far better than Lee Sin but until that list is perfected and is crystallized into something longterm nobody is gonna play.
Then even worse potentially, without a dominant new deck to speak of, you then have nothing to build and tech against. Yes Azir Irelia might have been op (sitting at 53% right now very respectable) and TF Fizz (dead) so they needed hard nerfs and it took too long, I just think there's a happy medium.
We want to see new decks at the top if the tier list but not oppressing players to the point of frustration.
Thanks, everyone. I'll probably submit Swift Assassin, since it has had a better reception. I also like it better (even if the art from the other card is much cooler)
More feedback:
R
I like Wild Flame, but I don't think adjacent minions need to take double damage. Just 4 damage to 3 minions seems quite strong for 4.
I'd also change the name since the current one is too similar to Wildfire
Nirast
I agree Hail Storm is your better card. The Fire Combo part is a nice touch. My main issue is that the artwork isn't very good.
linkblade91
I really like the version that reveals a card. I could see it winning the comp.
My main issue is that it probably shouldn't be a Beast, since Astral Tiger isn't.
anchorm4n
Honestly, the cost reduction doesn't worry me as much as the fact that you can generate extra Fireballs with this card. With this two cards plus the regular Fireballs you can put in your deck, that's 24 face damage.
Demonxz95
The fact that it only targets cheap minions is a bit weird, but I guess it's necessary so that the card isn't broken. Other than that, seems fine.
I already know that a lot of the player base don't care about Wild nor Wild players, and I'm not complaining, just pointing out that it's pretty shitty for people that don't play the mode (The same could go for the duels quest, but I'm biased about it because I enjoy the mode).
1. You are definitely complaining.
2. You see that you are biased, yet you complain about it anyway.
3. It's not about other players not caring about Wild. It's about Wild not being a money-making game mode for Blizzard, so there's no reason to reward playing it. In fact, I'm sure Blizzard sees Wild as a necessary evil and would prefer it if no one played Wild.
4. Newer players are completely unfamiliar with Wild cards, and they certainly don't own any.
5. You don't even have to win the games. Just put some random Core cards together and collect your free packs, you ingrate.

I would keep playing this game if the designers were as awesome as the community designers are.
If Blizzard made this card, it wouldn't have the cost drawback, summon 2 treants instead of one and it would be a 4/6 because WHY NOT.

I actually agree with Nifty on this one. Back when they first managed to fix Azir/Irelia I put out a post similar to his.
It’s painful fighting the same thing over and over again. Especially if you can’t beat it.
Conversely, fighting a wide variety of decks, but all of them feel the same, is pretty boring.
Personally, I like it when there is a big enemy to fight. What I don’t like is when every person I fight is that big enemy
