  • Details on Runeterra's The Path of Champions Mega Event Pass - All Level Unlocks

I have enough ressources to craft the cards I need (+20 champion WC, +100K shards and I haven't opened any chests from the recent road map additions). And yeah, that's kind of the point I forgot to add to my post.

I like the idea of supporting the game but I just can't buy anything that has any value for me - which I guess is a good thing because the games model is awesome.

Fair enough. If you are willing to pay for cards, the event pass will give you 2 Platinum Chests, 3 Diamond Chests, and I believe the Prismatic Jayce will come with a Jayce card. And though I haven’t tested it in this event yet, in the last event any duplicate cards you drew from chests gave you their FULL shard value instead of the normal reduced value. All of that is a decent deal for the cost.

(Maybe you don’t care about buying cards either. We get so much for free that a lot of players aren’t. But if you’re not interested in cards or cosmetics, then I’m not sure what deals the game could offer you.)

  • Master Duelist 1.4: Back To School - Submission & Discussion Thread

Greetings everyone, and welcome to the submission thread of third challenge of Master Duelist!

    General Information

This challenge will begin today, November 11th, and will end on November 30th. During this window of time, you'll have to start a Duels run with a starting deck including at least 5 spells belonging to just one Spell School. School-less spells are allowed and Signature Treasures count towards the restriction.

Everyone who'll post proof of a 7+ wins run in this article's comment section will be awarded with a different amount of gold, an in-site currency you'll be able to earn from different activities and that will be used to purchase cosmetics in our in-site shop.

    Submission Rules

In order for your run to count towards the challenge, you'll have to provide an appropriate proof of your feat; otherwise, your result won't count. To be precise, you will have to reply to this forum thread including:

    • a picture of how your run ended;
    • a picture of your starting deck;
    • a picture(s) of your final deck.
    • any other information you want: even though it's not necessary, it may help other players or generate a discussion!
      • you can submit as many runs as you want: we'll always pick the best one. Don't be afraid to show what you experimented with: let's start a discussion here!

Remember that we have to make sure you actually played following the rules, so please help us in doing so - disqualifying players feels bad, and we'd want to avoid it if possible! No exceptions will be made.

    Challenge Rewards

Here's a quick breakdown explaining the rewards you'll receive based on your performances:

    TOTAL WINSGOLD EARNED
Best result (both Casual and Heroic)200
    12100
    10-1150
    8-920
    710

    Time Criteria

Those which follow are the time criteria we'll use to determine the winner in case of identical scores:

    • An Heroic run will be considered more difficult than a Casual one, therefore Heroic players will have the priority.
      • If you get the best score overall with a 10-wins run in Casual and somebody else gets a 10-wins run in Heroic, the latter will be the winner of the challenge.
    • In case of more people getting the same score, the winner will be decided by the submission time.
      • If more players will get to 12 wins, losses will count as well: a 12-0 will be considered better than a 12-2 or a 12-1.
      • You could get the highest score on the first day as well as on the last day of the challenge, but if someone submits the same score before you do, then they'll be the winner.

    Closing Information

If you want to learn more about this challenge, make sure to visit our guide page, where you'll be able to find a couple of starting decks provided by ourselves in order for you to take inspiration for your runs.

Moreover, don't forged to share your own creations with the community by adding them to our deck database via our deckbuilder.

  • Details on Runeterra's The Path of Champions Mega Event Pass - All Level Unlocks

Wow. The last event gave away the Poppy emote for free, and this one makes Caitlyn free. Are they intentionally giving away the S-tier one each time, or is it just luck?

  • Details on Runeterra's The Path of Champions Mega Event Pass - All Level Unlocks

My issue with these event passes is that I don't care about cosmetics. I bought and cleared most of the event passes LoR has offered. But afterwards I completely forget about them because I never look at the board, the cardbacks, the guardians or the icons. I do not listen to the music or use emotes.

So it is by all means a complete waste of money for me.

    Can you define cycling?

  • A Week Into Hearthstone's Deadmines - The Clear Standard Meta Winners So Far & Top Decks to Play

Standard has reached dumpster fire level. I can't play constructed for more than two games without having to put it down. All the games on this list are meh to play and/or horrible to play against.

It's a different game now with different devs and different suits. They clearly have some formula or plan that's taken them away from what made Hearthstone so popular.

Anyway I have better things to do than deal with charging pirates and mega card draw into OTK and face hunter and snoozefest pallys and so on.

This game ain't fun. If you think it is then you weren't around when it really was. Oh and Blizzard, if you're reading this. Mercenaries is trash. Can't believe I payed good money for that rudimentary run of the mill pointless mobile game garbage. Feels real bad giving you any money again after that.

Been playing since 2017. So whatever. Kinda worn out anyway but I still try to play fun decks. And I do. Just can't have fun playing them.

  • Details on Runeterra's The Path of Champions Mega Event Pass - All Level Unlocks

ah, I was hoping out hope that there would be champ skins on the pass!

     After all, it does say

"The following personalization items will be available in The Path of Champions event pass & the Store."

oh well, I misread it. Riot gets all of my money!

  • Light that cigar. Questline mage got nerfed.

It's not like much has changed on paper. It still shreds slower decks (at best you get one more turn before you're out of health). I'm pretty sure the main idea behind the nerf was to actively dissuade people from playing it because it has an inflated playrate. People tend to just drop certain decks after a nerf, even if they're still fine (Look at Questlock. The deck's still great, but you'll barely see it on ladder because most people just kind of forgot about it or something).

It indeed counts on a technicality, but I don't think this was intended. The card being part from Descent of Dragons isn't helping either, because it implies it might actually be a Dragon.

    Nirast
The Enchanted Devilsaur feels off, because you have to play another Elemental on the same turn to activate its effect, which kind of beats the purpose of the 'last turn'-mechanic.

I still like your earlier idea, but Eggsnather is a great alternative. 0-cost synergy is unusual and thus unique, while this card might actually justify using them in a deck, because it can cheat them out.

    BasilAnguis
The concept is great, but it combos too well with big Battlecry minions like Clumsy Courier and Grey Sage Parrot, which I don't think is intended. You could either have it target enemy minions only, or you should increase it's cost and stats.

You might also consider making it a transform instead, because it would be useless on enemy minions with Deathrattles and on friendly ones it has the same problem as the Battlecry minions.

  • Stormwind Duels Meta Update #5 - Best 12-Win Hearthstone Duels Decks For November Week 2

Big Diablo seems to have risen in power after undergoing some refinement. I've seen people running Sphere of Sapience in order to keep the big units in their deck, which seems to be the right call.

  • A Renew Buff and Three Card Nerfs Including Arcanist Dawngrasp Coming in a Hearthstone Patch Next Week

Hey uh while they're at it could they also nerf Highlord Fordragon and Lothar I mean I'm just like getting absolutely destroyed by them every match it's totally not because I have both of them and desperately need the dust.

  • Jayce Overview

Gonna keep it real short, good news we get more Lux support, bad news they added more cycling at 2 mana.

We are basically in a situation where every single competitive archetype will need to have 2 and 3 mana cycling solutions or be soooo fast and agressive as to not care.

So it doesn't really matter if your 2/2 steals a card from your opponent, generated a 6 mana spell, creates more creatures, or invokes as long as you're trading on board and not loosing cards.

I kinda hate this from a long term growth perspective...like is Ionia gonna start getting 2/2's that generate cheap spells for Lee Sin oh wait they have Zoe and that still isn't good enough because they need like 10 more cards that do the same thing.

If I sound salty it's because I love this game, I love the Champs, I love the turn passing, I love the game flow...and infinite cycling destroys all of that.

It gets to the point where leveling Champs as part of a "quest" doesn't matter only wincons matter and infinite card advantage.

  • Stormwind Duels Meta Update #5 - Best 12-Win Hearthstone Duels Decks For November Week 2

I’ve loved playing big Diablo decks, and they have been more successful than I was expecting. Got a 11 win run with Totem of the Dead shenanigans, so many rattlegores…

  • A Week Into Hearthstone's Deadmines - The Clear Standard Meta Winners So Far & Top Decks to Play

I'm experimenting with 1 copy of the parrot. On curve with a previously played Hand or Mount it's okay, in late game with a pre-played-on-a-minion Hope it can be game winning.

Two new ideas while I figure something out with the other one:

Some Elemental support + an undead minion for the expansion starring Kel'Thuzad. Might lower the cost and stats to be able to play an Elemental on the same turn, as well clarify it only cares about YOUR turn.

Support for 0-Attack minions, though there's not much in Barrens. Might move to Rastakhan. Should probably cost 3.

    Feedback:

    Show Spoiler

Swizard: This is insane! Play a bunch of beast, Stonetusk Boar or [Hearthstone Card (King Crush) Not Found], and you have an OTK.

BloodMefist: Really neat idea, and pretty decent synergy with Deathrattle/egg decks.

BasilAnguis: Cool idea, but it needs to be a minion. Sorry.

Neoguli: Good design, but the wording seems a little clunky. Not sure how to improve it, though. Maybe 'Immune while attacking', but that's very different.

Demonxz95: Cool idea, but Shaman was more about storms and wind that expansion. Also, not sure that's a dinosaur.

linkblade91: I prefer the neutral Devilsaur, since there's a lot of classes that can attack, mainly Rogue, Druid, Demon Hunter, Shaman as of late, and Warrior. Shouldn't it be Giant Devilsaur, though? I also like Swiftfoot Charger.

Wailor: Not sure the Chamaleosaurus counts, since it's more a salamander than a dino (I know, semanthics). I prefer the Chewer more anyway, the second version looks good.

bananenparty: Love it! It certainly qualifies, even if only on a technicality. Not sure the name fits the effect.

Just checking if this would work as an entry.
It does feature a dinosaur, and it is indeed a minion :D

We've seen various attempts at cards with an effect when you trade it, but often it results in a card you ONLY want to trade. I always enjoy seeing the ones like yours which have value either way, so you can choose depending on your needs.

Tradeable should be in bold and if you want it to look less clustered, removing the enter after Tradeable should do it.

    Swizard
I like the idea of increasing its stats to just obliterate the board once played, but the stats seem like they can stack up real fast, which is a balance issue. Maybe reduce its stats and give it +1/+2 per Beast.

EDIT: I hope you still read this. The Keyword part might be a bit much for an already complex card. I didn't mention it at first because it's not that big of a deal, however, I just realized it poses a major issue in combination with Lifesteal. This minion can fully heal your hero, which is completely broken, most certainly for a Hunter card. Also, with its high Attack, I think the 'untill this dies' is unnecessary.

    Wailer
We've seen a lot of Stealth cards recently, so this doesn't stand out a lot to me, although I do appreciate the 'another class'-card synnergy. I like the neutral card too and the Overkill shouldn't pose a problem since it 'gains' the minions stats rather than 'stealing' them.

    BloodMeFist
Simple indeed, yet it still feels unique and fits right in with the other cards in the game. My main concern is that it's very powerful in an spell-oriented deck, which I know at least Hunter and probably Mage had around that time. Back then, spell decks still contained plenty minions, although often in the form of summons. So perhaps you could have it attack summoned minions as well?

    Neoguli
Not much to say here. It's a nice card with a strong effect.

    Demonxc95
Could be nitpicking, but maybe a little more complex than it should be. Normally these cards have only a condition: "Battlecry: If you're Overloaded, gain Rush and +1/+1." or only a stacking effect: "Rush. Battlecry: Gain +1/+1 for each Overloaded Mana Crystal." Your card is clearly more in line with the stacking effect. To keep the same stat curve, you could make it a 2/2.

    linkblade91
These cards are often a pain, but this one looks good since attacking can only be done once a turn. I like the Rush one better. It's more than just a stats-for-discount card.

The second phrasing sound better to me.

  • A Renew Buff and Three Card Nerfs Including Arcanist Dawngrasp Coming in a Hearthstone Patch Next Week

Deck is not the best, but it ain't bad by any means. 3 out of top 8 players in masters tour had it in their line up. Meta just warped so that we only have counters to age and garrotes that is why we don't see such a high winrate from them

  • Hearthstone's Matt London Provides Development Insights on Book of Mercenaries Cariel

    based take.

I'll also add that Jaina's old portrait, despite my love for big booba, looked absolutely ridiculous and clashed heavily with the serious vibe it was going for. The new one just looks better, there's no way around that.

However, I will not accept the grave injustice inflicted upon Lady Anacondra. The trailer promised booba and I was robbed...not to mention that her undershirt looks weirdly tacked on as if it was an afterthought. At least one of the Mercenary portraits frees the cleavage so there's justice at last.

  • A Renew Buff and Three Card Nerfs Including Arcanist Dawngrasp Coming in a Hearthstone Patch Next Week

It doesn't. The whole point is that the deck feels like shit to play against despite it having a bad winrate, yet people will not stop playing it despite all the data which fucks the meta sideways because despite it's terrible winrate it completely shuts down slower gameplans due to the nature of its gameplan.

Effectively we have a meta where you'Re forced to play fast because people insist on playing a terrible deck that just so happens to autowin control matchups (which there wouldn't even be many of anyways).

To sum it up. The community was too stupid to regulate itself so the devs had to step in, which I find hilarious.

  • A Renew Buff and Three Card Nerfs Including Arcanist Dawngrasp Coming in a Hearthstone Patch Next Week

Big Warrior is probably the deck they're talking about. Quest is mediocre, but Big has almost no bad matchups outside of Mage.
