  • Jayce Overview

    Quote From TheTriferianGeneral

I actually can't relate too well with your issues nifty that infinite value from bc is invalidating Jayce. I fact is jayce a great breaker for value battle because he allows big powerful spells like the Glorious Evolution to finally work, stopping the value battle on the spot.

Especially paired with hemi you can have your own value engine going and stop bandle city's gameplan.

We shall see if aggro will keep Jayce decks uncompetetive or if there will be a version doing fine against aggro that then has great chance to be toptier.

Wouldn't Glorious Evolution be counter productive with Jayce? The card will discount your spells meaning that you won't get the double cast from Jayce level up?

  • Unclear mercenaries tags

Yea yea, but they could add hidden race tags for pirates (tauren/human). And with more and more merceneries this this will be total mess. They should add 2nd label with faction name and this would solve most problems - "Tauren - Pirate", "Troll - Horde", "Human - Neutral" etc.

  • Jayce Overview

New expansion has been out for 5 minuites and the optimal Jayce deck is already duplicate conchologist...want to know why because Champs don't matter, cards don't matter, turn order and plays don't matter...answers.dont matter...only cycling matters.

    -------

I was practicly begging for a patch to tone down the cycling power in the game and we just got more of it...like how clueless can you get. Infinite card advantage with board presence in a card game is baaaaaaad

  • Unclear mercenaries tags

If you're a lore wonk, don't forget that it's possible they could release a different version of an existing character, but with a different tribal tag. I'm not saying it's super likely, but certainly possible.

As a hypothetical example, in Hearthstone, normal Rokara would be an Orc, but Cap'n Rokara is a Pirate.

These tags are meant to lend flavor and mechanical effects to one version of a character, not to cement that character as one single type of creature for all time.

  • Light that cigar. Questline mage got nerfed.

    Quote From Tetsuo

Hopefully this nerf exterminates it from ladder, even though the nerf isn't that damaging (+2 damage aura effect the whole game is still ridiculous).

I dunno ... I very often feel like I just needed one more turn to beat the Mage, and this should turn the tables in those cases.

Yeah I was debating between Decoy and Vanguard but even with a second Drake there would only be 4 8 drops in the deck and I didn’t find any other good 8 drops. It would be a bit inconsistent, if you drew a Vanguard after having drawn all 8 drops. Blatant Decoy can come down 1 turn earlier and it works with any cost minion in hand, your 6, 8, and 10 costs so it’s more reliable. If next expansion more 8 drops come out that fit this deck, Silver Vanguard would be great.

They have a good variety of the best players around.

Just to make it clear, I wasn't trying to make any negative comment. If they get to have players in the spotlight is because they've earned it!

  • Swinging Our Big Decks - A Full Guide to Big Demon Hunter on the Wildest of Wednesdays

Thanks, can’t take credit for the titles though.

  • Oozefest 2

Thanks a lot. Never heart of it. Wikipedia was my friend. The card art is quite obvious if you know what to search for.

Fixed the link so it didn't have the space at the end!

Also, fun fact: There was a reddit mod who won't be named that cried about us never linking our sources and we were a bunch of scumbags because of that. They were clearly too stupid to click on the author of the blue post block - and you just proved that the links are readily available.

  • Jurassic Card - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread

Alright back on the pony (Dinosaur?) this time I'm going with something simple and clean no crazy insane off the wall legendaries this time just a rouge dinosaur that summons his buddies from your deck when you play him for shenanagines with Gang Up and other shuffle effects.

Ok, I understand. To be honest I hadn't noticed Multicaster was a pirate until you said so!

  • Stormwind Duels Meta Update #5 - Best 12-Win Hearthstone Duels Decks For November Week 2

    Hello there.

While I agree with you on the Quest issue, I think we have to take in consideration that they're part of the last expansion, and therefore they're literally the shiniest toys you can play with. I am not saying that they'll disappear after the next exp, but rather that the increase of the card pool and the deckbuilding options available are very likely to dilute them a bit.

For the second point, I don't really have an opinion: while there are classes (Warrior, Paladin, possibly Shaman) that I prefer to others (Rogue, Priest, Druid), I always try to be able to have at least a playable character in the four that are offered to me. I am aware the you're not talking about playability and you just want to have fun with the new hero, but as long as 4 is the max number of classes we get to choose from, the chances won't be that high.

  • Stormwind Duels Meta Update #5 - Best 12-Win Hearthstone Duels Decks For November Week 2

I hate two things in duels at the moment.

Quests: I'm playing duels mostly to escape the stupid quest meta and they are prevelant here as well. I wish they never printed new quests and hoping that they never do in the future.

Not being able to choose whom I want to play: Currently all I want is to play Diablo and I have to concede so many times to get offered diablo and then I encounter ridiculous Mind Tether priests(this is borderline 3rd thing) that can murder me in 4 turns so my runs end before even reaching 4 wins anyway.

  • Jayce Overview

In a broader sense cycling had classically referred to any creature body that draws 1. But in Runeterra cycling is infinitely better because it's actually a cheap body and a tutor 1.

Also that body is not under-stated

Now you could say it's not a tutor because there's hearthstone r and g but unfortunately the card pool is too small to make that true.

Here's an example will you always hit equinox off a spacey sketches? No but you will hit it the second time you play most likely.

Now add this principle to bandlewood what are the chances they hit the 5 mana sled puffball or the 6 mana scout. Very high, and this is after you've had to deal with 3 poppies, and his buffed board. That's the power of tutors, and that's why just add Bandlewood is practically a meme at this point.

This is the meme take champ A add bandlewood tutors/cycling creatures, add poppy win games. Now you could argue it needs minimorph and stress test etc. But those are just tech choices, the infinite tutor pkg plus Poppy is so universal and so strong it can go with anything.

Like you can literally play the AI and you'll be like derp de derp whatever and then you hit infinite cycling and it's like wow that's literally the worst card choices and it's still better then everything else.

  • Hearthstone Global Inn-vitational - What You Need to Know to Follow the Constructed, Battlegrounds, & Mercenaries Action

Its about 4k right now in twitch, somewhat small for a tournament. Unsurprising, since its essentially streaming 3 different modes, hoping maybe that its audience actually plays all three modes and will gladly sit through all of them.

I watched some of mercs, and its honestly hard to sit through it all. The players tend to rope alot, and unlike hearthstone there's only ever three moves per turn, so there's not much excitement. Although admitably there were a few unexpected skillful plays, like those Cairne speed battles.

  • Hearthstone Global Inn-vitational - What You Need to Know to Follow the Constructed, Battlegrounds, & Mercenaries Action

What a shame that Blizz didn't bring drops for this event, it seems like a really cool group of players that could get more exposure.  Cause let's be honest, pack drops drive a lot of the viewership on these competitions.

  • Swinging Our Big Decks - A Full Guide to Big Demon Hunter on the Wildest of Wednesdays

Some nice ideas as always! Gotta love the creative titles.

  • Hearthstone Global Inn-vitational - What You Need to Know to Follow the Constructed, Battlegrounds, & Mercenaries Action

Invitationals tend to follow their own peculiar rules, depending on who is in charge and doing the picks. Some names are definitely unexpected, to say the least. Even the China team doesn't include a lot of the more known 'heavyweights' (we don't really know their streamers and casters, so could be some of that).

I expect good production values and seeing competitive Battlegrounds or Mercenaries action is so rare, it might be worthwhile tuning in to learn some creative strategies.

    Things I'd Love to Know

    • Did the event feel too grindy relative to previous events?
      • There was certainly more interaction required on everyone's behalf rather than the passive gains of last year.

    Not for me :)

    • Was there any aspect you felt could have been communicated better?

Not realy, i think it was good!

    • Was the event too long?

Nope, could be longer because i like those riddles and word searches :) :)

    • What sucked? What rocked?

Those riddles (even tough some of them are hard if you do not play certain games) were AWESOME! Love it and maybe you could implement riddles like that for new expansions or other events etc!

    Hint for:

This place is EXTREMELY popular with parties of Trick-or-Treaters. Not for the candy, but for... the experience.

    Show Spoiler

Aang was the Last AIRbender - this ELEMENT was teached to him by Gyatso and many people would try to hunt him down - some even set up a huge BOUNTY on his head. But nonetheless he became the Avatar and Aang's action became a HEROIC tale!

Hope this helps and did not confuse more :) :)

I wonder what that will do to the viewership figures.

Coincidentally I think I'm busy during this event and will miss the stream :)

  • Hearthstone's Matt London Provides Development Insights on Book of Mercenaries Cariel

I'm up for a replay when all chapters are available.

I don't think I'm expecting the narrative to be "concluded," though. There will probably be some wrap-up around the shards, but I assume the storytellers want to leave other parts open ended, so that these characters will continue being Mercenaries.
