I actually appreciate that you didn't disable comments. I feel like the OOC community can handle this kind of topic for the most part. I doubt the other HS fan site will even post an article, as they seem very risk averse overall.  

These type of situations are always difficult - one persons word against another (assuming he is denying it). 

Historically there are plenty of times where a partner is abused physically or mentally and not believed, and conversely a malicious false allegation made against someone innocent.  (I am speaking in general here not implying anything about this specific instance).

It's not my place to cast a verdict of guilty/not guilty - I don't personally know the individuals involved.

All that said, solely based on personality traits I've observed when streaming and interactions with the community, if it were all to be true I would find myself experiencing a lack of surprise.  

I hope whatever the case the truth is revealed and proportionate fair justice enacted.  The same goes for any allegation of abuse regardless of gender, race or religion.

We live in a society. I cant say you raped me and expect everyone to believe me just because I say so.

I remember when people were having issues with the initial rewards track.  Someone in chat brought up the subject, and Zelae very disdainfully said that he didn't care and wasn't going to talk about it.  My response was that he was surprisingly selfish and unempathetic.  Instead of being empathetic towards the community he was a part of, a community that is understandably concerned about the unreasonable cost of the game they enjoy, he basically didn't give a shit because he was making a living and getting what he wanted.  It left me with an uncomfortable feeling, and I never watched him stream again after that.

This current news just seems to fit in perfectly with that type of attitude, selfishness, and lack of empathy.  I'm an adult, don't gossip about people, and never weigh-in on things like this, but I don't like judging people harshly, and all of this makes me feel as if I wasn't very far off the mark getting put off enough to avoid watching him.  There's the saying that, if someone shows you who they are, believe them.  My support goes out to Rani.  I'm not trying to be hyper-woke or anything, just human.

What kind of proof could you even have for this? It's not like she was going to whip out her phone and record him during the abuse. Also, the extent of her allegations are pretty minor, just "Zalae was a shitty boyfriend and made me feel unsafe in our relationship," if she wanted to actually end his career or create a better narrative around herself she would have come up with a far more extreme story (maybe alleging physical abuse and giving herself bruises as proof). Rini mentions multiple times that she doesn't want this to affect Zalae's career and that she's mainly doing this to protect other potential girlfriends from being abused (or maybe helping them see Zalae's abusive behavior). I know that it's hard to accept information about someone that conflicts with what you previously thought of them, but it seems far more likely that Zalae's a bad boyfriend than that Rini decided to lie to maliciously mess with Zalae's career with relatively mild accusations while calling for him to not be punished.

A community can't just choose to stay away from "topics like this" when highly visible members of the community continue to perpetrate these kinds of behaviours. 

Like it or not, these topics are part of community discussions until either everyone stops behaving that way, or it is clear those who continue to are not welcome here.

Got quite mad about him not caring about people back then on the reward system outrage, I am still not playing (I actually quit unlike 99.999% of hpwn users who claimed to quit), he was one of the driving factors for me to quit he showed me how little Blizzard or the community symbols actually cared about the community. 

Not surprised if he is guilty, he can be quite a douche to people, he was quite a fan of his collab with Firebat back then.

It sparked up again when HSesports revealed the GM player lineup for this year. It caught a decent amount of traction and basically forced Blizzard to answer. This very much feels like a situation that Blizzard wanted to downplay but were unable to due to community backlash.

I really hoped the HS-community can stay away topics like this. I remember that time in the Pokemon Community with the King Nappy (way worse).

However, this behaviour soubd terrible. I wish Rini a good recovery and I hope that Zaele will learn a lot of his mistakes.
