The good thing is that it guarantees draw and for 0 mana at the turn youre drawing. So there's plenty of mana to do other stuff.
The problem? Your opponent can see you doing it and so can easily disrupt your turn, or make you overdraw. For that reason its kinda impossible to play in wild, but in standard Ive no doubt it'll see play, if only because dhunters dont really have many ways to draw cards. The fact that when you draw those cards you have a full set of mana to do stuff with also sets it apart from cards like Weight of the World, that while potentially drawing more cards also pretty much sets you 3 mana back to do anything useful.
Cant underestimate what random spells for 1 mana can do so this card gets a passing grade despite the fact that in my opinion its largely just arena fodder.
It'll see play, because why not? prison of yogg is seeing play despite its impressively low play win rate. If youre playing this card it wont be because youre aiming to win. Its either achievements or just for a hail mary in an impossible situation.
Similar to Saronite Shambler, you can see where team5 is going with this set. Draw loads of cards, deal tons of damage
The problem is that this card costs 4 and will be a dead card until the time you decide to pull the trigger. Not to mention that the only way this card even sees remotely any play at all in standard would be via Sigil of Time the turn prior because in what world can you draw tons of cards and then play a 4 mana payoff card, not to mention that its highly unlikely to ever kill the opponent anyway.
Any card that repeats spells will bound to be broken at some point. Not even gonna bother thinking of the potential of this card, because if it doesnt see play it'll be because shaman is unviable in the current meta.
Might see play in burn dhunter deck, comparable with Soulshard Lapidary but that was a time where broken cards like Blade Dance exist
The biggest problem with this card is that I can see the kind of deck that will play this but Im unsure if it'll ever be good in a meta that produces taunts and healing at such rates. Maintaining tempo is not something dhunters do well in the current standard so I cant see this card succeeding.
Not saying you're wrong, but the fact that RFG is a Secret helps give it life. Drawing cards is great, of course, but the Secret synergies influence its play-rate for sure. Sigil of Time might need to bring more to the table because most decks don't want to wait to draw their cards - top-decking this late-game would be a disaster - and it doesn't get Mindbender up to high numbers without more help. It might be Final Showdown-or-bust for this card.
and so I've made an appointment for October the 13th to get the Hearthstone tattoo done! I'll post the design and a picture of the execution afterwards, just wanted to share my excitement for the moment :)
So 4 years have gone by since I've started this thread and not only have I changed my mind about not doing a Hearthstone specific tattoo, I also came up with a unique design of my own. Luckily I have a very talented stepdaughter who polished it up a bit and so I've made an appointment for October the 13th to get the Hearthstone tattoo done! I'll post the design and a picture of the execution afterwards, just wanted to share my excitement for the moment :)

The anomalies sound like fun little Yoggy bit of randomness at first glance, but I think it's actually going to get really, really old, really fast. Because while the effects are symmetrical, the playstyles and win cons of the two opposing decks won't be. Some decks will benefit massively from some anomalies while they'll do barely anything for the opponent. A few illustrative examples for wild:
2 extra cards for both players. The Even Warrior or whatever attempt at a control deck someone might be playing won't benefit nearly as much as the aggro/tempo deck that tends to vomit its hand out by turn 3. Giving that deck extra fuel makes it much more dangerous than getting the Warrior a small shot at an additional piece of removal. Same goes for combo decks, like Thaddius Treachery Warlock or Frog Shaman. They'll be able to land their early combos much more reliably than honest decks.
Yogg in hand. Absolutely, completely irrelevant in Wild as an actual card. But, clogs the hand for draw heavy decks, absolutely fucking annihilates DH trying to get Outcast off (jesus fucking christ), provides some degree of protection against Dirty Rat/Mutanus for toxic combo decks such as Tony Druid. There is zero upside to having a Yogg in hand for anyone other than OTKs that run just one or two key minions.
Reduction of starting hand by 1 mana: Tony Druid now kills you on turn 3 with the right hand. Mech Paladins no longer pay for anything after turn 2 if their opener is Radar Detector, Mech Warper + Galvanizer, which is what they mulli for. Frog Shaman kills on turn 3, turn 2 with coin, Discard Warlock snowballs Tiny Knight starting turn 1. Anything slow like Even Warrior looks like an absolute idiot in the meantime, cause their efficiency doesn't increase nearly as much as aggro decks getting their 1 drops for free and being able to developing snowballing 2 drops right at the start of the game.
The site has definitely hit a rough patch and it definitely feels like it's been that way for a while. As to why we're stuck in this hole can be attributed to several interlocking problems. We were definitely affected by HearthPwn. The original plan was that HearthPwn was going to be closed and then Out of Cards would effectively replace it as the de facto main Hearthstone fan site. Sounds like a solid plan, but of course, when the keys were handed over to other people and the site would stay around, you can see exactly how that would put a huge roadblock on the road of progress for Out of Cards. Even if hasn't seemed like it, our growth has always been slowed down by HearthPwn, ever since the very beginning. Brand recognition is a bitch of a thing to deal with.
One other big obstacle for the site was that card games are just simply a very niche market that ebbs and flows. Hearthstone's popularity in general has gone up and down considerably as time has went on and that naturally will have drastic effects on our overall activity. When you're trying to support card games on a news website, you also need people who are familiar with the game and play on a regular basis, which is also why news for games like Legends of Runeterra and MTG Arena have also faded out. Can't really write news about the game when you don't have the people who are familiar enough with it. SNAP is decently popular and guides about the game still get views and the game still has active players, but people aren't able to sink time into every game to play.
Now in theory, branching out to just general gaming coverage could counteract this somewhat, but it again runs into the problem of brand recognition. Let's face it. Out of Cards/Games has never been that popular compared to its competing websites and trying to climb that peak is a steep and difficult climb to make regardless of how hard you try. We're very grateful for the community we have, and we thank you wholeheartedly for sticking with us for as long as you have. Trying to expand that community though, is a process that even if you know what to do, is a pain that can take forever to get through.
As a Wild player, kind of wondering if this new Sigil would be too slow or not for an Odd DH deck. Might find a home in my Il’gynoth QL DH. Might depend on if they nerf Disco Lock or not.
The other cards for DH, Shambler and Mindbender, good Even DH cards!
No, seriously… I think both can find a home somewhere. Mindbender could even work in the previously mentioned Il’gynoth deck. Especially after the Sigil goes off, draw a few more cards, maybe it gets a tick of cost reduction too! Help control the board before the combo turn.
But again, the IG deck overall is too slow against Disco Lock so I wait to see what changes get made there before I get to excited about new additions to that deck.
Seconded. At this point, even if the major overhaul that I suspect is going on behind the scenes were to happen tomorrow, it would need to be flanked by massive PR stunts because it feels like there's hardly a handful of people left who comes here regularly.
I have been on Out of Cards since it's creation, migrated from Hearthpwn after that whole fiasco. i admit i have never been an active member of this community with little posts and interaction. But i have come daily or weekly for some years now and.... well no kind way to put this. Site feels dead. Whole of it, Out of Games, not just the card part. Vast majority of news articles have 0 comments or 2 or 3 at most. Forums are inactive with the Recent Posts window showing threads that have last replies from 2 days ago to 2 weeks ago.
So, if it's not too bold or rude of me to ask, i want to know how things look from the dev side of things. What the site staff thinks and feels about the current status. I hope it's just me and things are actually going good, i like this place a lot.

Sorry, let me rephrase it: I think it's highly unlikely such an Anomaly will reference Whizbang himself, which was my original point. There's no need to do that, as it would be confusing for players who have no experience with the card.

Chaos Reigns with Yogg-Saron in Hearthstone's Fall of Ulduar Mini-Set! - 38 New Cards Launches On September 19th
