When the current expansion ends, the achievements for it will remain but will no longer reward experience
Thats a shame. Wouldn’t this be a nice little catch up mechanic for new and returning players? Some stuff like summoning ungodly amounts of Greyboros is just nothing I plan to do with the current cards available..
I am curious what the rankings are for the 10 classes for wild players and why for which classes you like to play the most and are your favorite. By rankings I mean ranking the classes from number 1 to 10. Obviously this can change over time but it is still interesting to see what it is.
1. Rogue
2. Demon hunter(atleats before warlgaives nerf >.>)
3. Paladin
4. Warlock
5. Warrior
6. Warrio
7. Shaman
8. Druid
9. Hunter
10. Priest (it just really doesnt have anything interesting for me that isnt utterly terrible)
Crafted it yesterday but didn't have much time to play with it. It seems pretty good, and I finally get to play with some new old gods. Heard from high legend players that it's quite a scary concept though.
Apparently High Abbess Alura has a 93% mulligan winrate on coin. To put that in perspective: cards like Prince Keleseth and Barnes hovered around 70% mulligan winrate.
Scary stuff, but we'll see how it pans out.
And sint also relaly low data to poitn whe reit says it may be innacurate? So ti could still eb high mulgian winrate but aslo still eb far from 93%
The Shaman hero power is uniquely RNG-based (summons in random order) and rather unintuitive (always a different totem; stops working after all 4) compared to the other hero powers. Ever seriously discussed changing parts of it?
The fact that it's different because of those things isn't necessarily a negative to us, but we have discussed changing aspects of it. When we looked at the classic set and ways to change it, we also looked at the base hero powers and what classes were supposed to be good/weak at (Source)
We'll have some more details on that in a big future update but nothing to divulge just yet (Source)
Now that is very interesting, and it sounds like at least one base hero power will be changed. I'd be looking at druid mostly, because the class has never really been good at attacking with its hero (sorry Gonk, the Raptor) and it has always been a poor-man's rogue or mage hero power.
Maybe they also found an alternative to warlock's, as discussed in a previous AMA, though I expect changing that one would cause more complaints.
IF theyre gonan chaneg/edit NAY HP ti shoudl be shamabans (liek not makignt he hp sueless if got all 4 totems woud be a nice start)
Warlock that shoudlnt be changed at all. ANd for otehrs id say warriors basic could be hoenstly be 1mana and wouldn be broken
(and would fit a bit mroe:help more i guess with their orignal design fir warrior as a more aggresive/tempo class with weapons and using armor to soften the blows they recieve from using their weapons).
Warlock i dont see changign and it really realy shouldnt.
They get gold, they have to figure out what to spend it on, they spend it, they get cards, they figure out how to use them, build a deck…. it goes on and on before you are just having fun in a game. (Source)
So for that reason when we do give non-gold rewards or card rewards, I generally just like to remove that layer of decision making so you just directly have the thing rather than feel like you have to open the internet to help you figure out what thing is right to make. (Source)
And why not reward them both? Why don't you rethink what lots of people are complaining about packs being so expensive or difficult to obtain the best cards with? IMHO rewarding only specific packs is worst than what he thinks because you are exclusively fitted to a large park of cards of an specific expansion where you only want a few cards. You're somehow constraint to it and for no speaking about pity timer exclusively for each pack.
Right now money gives you the chance of pick the pack that you desire more, if within the pack the card that you want is not found then you dust them all and try to craft it from scratch (we should talk another day about the amount of dust you obtain from disenchanting).
I don't know, I feel very frustrated right now and I'm unable to explain what I think. I was hoping that with new year some things that were shouting for a redesign are going to change a little but this declarations feels like nothing is going to change in a short term. Feels bad, man :(
It's kind of hilarious to me that no one at Blizzard seems to have noticed this combo before they printed the card. It's clearly just about as busted as a combo can get.
Can anyone provide a list? I'm missing Nozdormu and both tip the scales and would be very hesitant to craft them, but I'd like to see how this thing works.
Edit: Found it (Murloc Version). Do you think this will get nerfed?
Its just my personal advice, but if you dont have all the cards don't bother crafting them. Not only are they rotating in about a month and a half, the deck suffers from serious consistency issues, far more so than druid, which basically it intends to ape.
Let's also not forget that Nozdormu grants the opponent 10 mana to play before you do, so on chances you face up against priest or mage, you're better off just playing the normal aggro murloc game. Yes its hilarious when you win with Alura or get a board full of clowns and your opponent happens to be aggro, but those are just moments against the many times you either don't draw the cards you need, or just die from aggro without playing a single card.
Again, just my opinion, but I think this deck is held up mainly by Alura+tip the scales on 4/5. Nozdormu on 4 will likely just end with you dying more often than not.
It won't be nerfed, for the same reason why druid still exist. The deck is nowhere near consistent enough and against value decks it might as well start praying.
Yeah, it's weird to hear him say that after they have just added a layer of indirection to the economy. Maybe that's why they had more packs on the rewards track at first, but that wasn't welcomed by players because players like to get all the important cards early in the season and from there on save up for the next expansion.
Trying to get the most value out of your resources (cards, mana, life) is part of the game itself, so people who enjoy Hearthstone probably find figuring out how they can efficiently spend their gold and dust a challenge rather than a chore.
Even cards themselves aren't directly a fun play experience, only once you make a deck and start playing. It's one of the biggest pain points in our game, in my opinion. The time you go from spend currency to have fun in game can be agonizing for a player not in the know.
I don't actually agree with this sentiment from Dean. I have my most fun at the start of a new expansion when I open all my packs from pre-orders/gold etc, the excitement of possibly getting that golden legendary has a lot more suspense, hence fun. Second would be constructed on day 1 of a new expansion when everyone is experimenting with their new cards.
this dean guy sure is full of himself, makes me worry about where this game is going, it wasnt in a good place with that laughing jackass thinking he knew anything either, brode
Usually the thread starter kicks off with their own list, but alright. I guess I'll start.
To preface: I don't play wild much anymore currently as the meta's extremely dull with 3-4 decks dominating the format, leaving not much room for anything else. My list is based on the versatility of each class, as I like to have the option to go either control, combo or aggro with each class. I can't really rate them 1-10 either as that's far too nuanced. I'll just make a short tier list instead.
So:
High tier:
Druid, Mage, Warlock & Warrior
All of these classes allow for a plethora of playstyles which is what I appreciate most. They basically all have viable fast, mid-range slow and combo decks.
Mid tier:
Paladin, Priest & Rogue
These decks are mostly one/two deck ponies if you want to be consistent, but they're still decks I enjoy. I like playing reno priest, although it's far too overtuned currently. I've always enjoyed rogue's aggro decks in the forms of Kingsbane and odd. And yes, dare I say it, I even like playing a few games of odd paladin from time to time.
Low tier:
Demon Hunter, Hunter & Shaman
These classes see little to no play competitively currently, and that's partially also why I rated them so low. Demon hunter simply doesn't have the cardpool to have a lot of different decks. It's mostly a one trick pony in the odd variant. Shaman just doesn't really excel at anything currently, even though it can have a lot of different decks, they all just suck. Hunter has always been wild's redheaded stepchild that's never really meta because its cards just aren't good enough compared to the rest of the classes. A one-dimensional hero power doesn't help Rexxar either, to be fair.
Can anyone provide a list? I'm missing Nozdormu and both tip the scales and would be very hesitant to craft them, but I'd like to see how this thing works.
Edit: Found it (Murloc Version). Do you think this will get nerfed?
Now THAT is a scary statistic. I believe that only Warrior can reasonably contest that board after playing a Brawl, but they’ll be hard pressed to survive the clown onslaught afterwards
Not only that, they have to deal with (at least one) wave of murlocs, two waves of clowns, followed by two more, a N'zoth board and a bunch of big solo cards. The deck can put out a LOT of pressure against slow decks.
@Dapperdog: the deck OP is referring to runs both Alura + Tip the scales AND a Nozdormu + big package.
This effectively allows them to highroll in two different ways and they also have tutors for Nozdormu in the 2 mana 2/3 draw a dragon card (forgot its name).
I'm surprised we haven't heard a word on new deck slots yet. I'm pretty sure that when DH came out, a bunch of people were pretty pissed that we now have 10 classes but 18 deck slots. Seemed like a no-brainer that a new class would come with two new slots, but nope. I seem to recall that later down the line they said on reddit or somewhere that they heard our feedback and more deck slots are on the way. It's been 9 months since DH release and not a beep about deck slots has been heard since.
It would be easy. Have the screen with 10 classes and when you select a class show up to 9 decks for that class

3. Shudderwock Shaman
4. Cube Lock (greedy version with Umbra, The Darkness and Ectomancy)
5. Scryin' Priest

hard against priest, but I really like to play it!
The first passive treasure I had was plaguebringer, ridiculous with this hero power!

massively complicated? You play games you get XP, you do quests you get XP, you get rewards after you have x XP. How is this complicated?

Too bad for you cause i still prefer gold over packs to use it where i want, not where you decide that "i'll get fun"
