  • New Rogue Spell - Swindle

Combos well with Foxy Fraud, and the two likely make for a very strong aggro/tempo play.

On its own, its still draw, so you're not mandatorily required to play either dirty secrets or stealth minions anymore. And that alone makes this fill up a decent enough niche.

It also draws your shuffled cards too, so there's that, a decent bonus for a great card.

  • New Rogue Minion - Foxy Fraud

The shenanigans of this card is amazing. Its basically 0 mana most of the time, since playing combo pieces like EVIL Miscreant or edwin is pretty common early game. So here's something that activates your combo, puts up a decent body, and even on its own with Eviscerate, just swings board on 2.

What else is there to want out of a card?

  • New Neutral Minion - K'thir Ritualist

Wow, this is so bad. Only maybe usable against a "created by" priest that has a full hand.

You only gain +1 attack for such a big draw back.

  • New Rogue Spell - Cloak of Shadows

Its a combo card for rogue. But will you drop this into anything else. No.

Well, if anything, I can go back to wasting my stars on making malyrogue work again. So I guess that's something.

  • New Priest Spell - Insight

Zetalot loves this card. So I suppose its just 5/5 stars.

Draws card, discount it by 2, and since priest has no obligations to play minions on curve, you'll end up with a discounted minion, which can often wreak havoc to your opponent's state of board and mind.

Yes, I can see why this is broken.

  • New Priest Minion - Fairground Fool

Its not really comparable to Injured Blademaster. If you're playing this card in your deck, then its likely some form of tempo priest, which means the follow up on 4 is likely Psychopomp. Bringing this back on its base form isn't really a good result compared to injured blademaster.

There's also another problem which is what card will be used to corrupt this one? Far as I know the best card is either psychopomp (which will end up bringing back something else other than this) or Cobalt Spellkin. A bit too slow for my taste.

Its a decent card I grant you. But I'd still go for blademaster over this, if at all.

  • Holding Out For A Hero - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread

As much as I and others want to use the swapping E.V.I.L hero power, it's too many tokens to be submitted. I retooled the original hero power to be a bit better, either through discount or through discovery.  I also want to gauge people's feelings on flavor between the Gauntlet or Arch-Villainy.

    Feedback!

    Show Spoiler

linkblade91: I think giving every minion for the rest of the game divine shield and then +2/+2 seems pretty strong, even for the lack of tempo on the card.  I think lowering the stat bonus of the hero power to +2/+1 at 6 cost seems good.

Demonxz95: Yeah, it is unfortunate that Relentless Pursuit kind of screwed over your card :/ Maybe moving the passive over to the battlecry and getting a new passive? Maybe something like 'Your first attack each turn also damages an adjacent minion'?

Wailor: Big fan of the Mannoroth card.  I personally don't think there needs any changes after the Rush version.  I think the art for Fel Orc art could be different and green to better convey corruption by Mannoroth's blood.

The Hoax91: Seems a bit too weird to me. It almost behaves like a legendary spell rather than a hero card. I like the discard synergy, but I think it should be retooled a bit.

KANSAS: I like the use of Ol'Faithful here.  I think the hero power is interesting, but feels weird flavor-wise to give up a card while youre treasure hunting.  I think it works well from a balance stand-point though, nice work!

fungusABao: I really like the design for Anub'arak, but think that Anub'arak as a character should stay exclusive to Rogues.  I think you could port the effect over to a different character and it could work super well though, maybe Varok Sourfang? Not as huge on Cenarius. The play effect and hero power aren't as interesting as Anub'arak's design.

DavnanKillder: RIP Rehgar, was digging his theme and think he would have worked better for the 'Gladiator Shaman' that they're pushing.  I like Aegwynn as a control take on secrets, but the hero power could use some rewording. Something like 'Discover a Secret and cast it. If you control five Secrets, draw a card instead.'

Hordaki: Really dig the design of this hero, pushing a Menagerie archetype in Hunter feels more natural and better than Warrior. Flavor feels a bit strange with Old God forces pushing Menagerie, but N'zoth did it first so I can't fault you for that. Great job!

MenacingBagel: I like the idea of porting a boss over in an actual card, but summoning a 1/10 every turn seems potentially dangerous for Token Druids.  It's definitely a cool idea, but the stats still scare me.

shaveyou: Would the Dreadsail Deckhand be a 2/2 since it sounds like it counts itself? Also Ghostly Blade is a gnarly weapon to get for 5 mana. I think the cost could be nerfed to 6 given Rogue's ability to easily generate cheap pirates.

Dreams: First version of this was giga busted, but it sounds like you're on the right track. I like the idea of setting all enemy minion to 1 health and attack as a battlecry. I also like the idea of turning divine shield into a weapon, but it seems late for this effect to activate considering you might have burned through your divine shield minions. Not sure what you should change it to though.

  • New Rogue Minion - Foxy Fraud

In wild, this is an absolutely amazing support for Spectral Pillager decks. This and Tenwu of the Red Smoke just completely replaces the Galakrond package, allowing you to focus more on drawing cards. Also, rogue got Cloak of Shadows which really helps for survivability by a lot.

  • New Priest Spell - Palm Reading

I'm almost certain this will see play. Discover spell effects in priest is extremely powerful and the discounts will be felt, especially since priest generates spells at such an extreme extent.

  • New Priest Minion - Nazmani Bloodweaver

Just not sure about this one. Priest doesn't just dump their spells, since its usually situational. And the card discount can't be precisely down to the cards you want.

But as a 3 mana 2/5, at least there's a chance it will survive a turn. So there's always a chance to snowball along with [Hearthstone Card (sethekk vielweaver) Not Found]. That alone can clinch it. But I'm not holding my breath here.

  • New Priest Spell - Auspicious Spirits

There's already a good 5 mana card that almost always gets played on curve for priest, and that's Cobalt Spellkin. So you play spellkin on 5, this on 6 along with the generated spells.

Good tempo, plus whatever else you play with the leftover 2 mana. Seems legit.

Even on its own, its still a 4 drop. And assuming you didn't get a knock on the head when you choose, its usually going to have at least 4/4 stats, which is decent considering that priest rarely plays anything on curve at 4 anyway.

  • New Priest Spell - Idol of Y'Shaarj

It looks okay. But in reality its too expensive. If it gets to 6 mana via Palm Reading or Nazmani Bloodweaver, then its okay but not great. Otherwise, when is priest ever going to play this without also dying?

  • New Priest Minion - Blood of G'huun

Strong card. But will never see play outside of rez priest, and even that archetype may do without this.

Yes, the effect is strong. But its also a 9 cost card. Wouldn't you rather just play Mass Resurrection instead? On the slight off chance this thing actually pulls out another taunt, then its mildly great. Otherwise, its most likely going to get Sap and then you cry.

  • All Card Flavor Text for the Madness at the Darkmoon Faire Hearthstone Expansion

So I was honestly wondering what would happen when someone feed the basilisk a deep fried candybar? Don't Feed the Animals

  • New Priest Minion - G'huun the Blood God

Why is the blood god/loa part of the priest class will be forever a mystery.

But is this good? I don't really know. On one hand, if you're playing the current iteration of control priest, the health cost instead of mana is only mildly annoying since all their cards are usually cheap. On the other hand, if you're playing a bunch of heavy stuff, then this card just bricks your hand.

For what its worth, it does draw cards. And for a class that can't draw for shit, drawing 2 cards which you can play immediately should not be underestimated.

Notably, priest pro zetalot doens't have an opinion either. So I guess this is something we'll have to actually playtest to find out.

  • New Neutral Minion - Carnival Clown

I think card is the win con itself, so you need to build around it. Sort of reminds me of Chef Nomi decks. I don't think you can slot this in any deck.

Honestly not sure how to build it correctly. I'm thinking on the lines of 2 of this, 2 10 cost cards, Deck of Chaos if warlock, and the rest survival or draw cards.

  • New Paladin Minion - Redscale Dragontamer

Had this been a 1/3 1 drop, it would've been insane since it curves into Tasty Flyfish, then into something like Bronze Explorer.

On its own, its a 2 mana murloc, and therefore will see play in any murloc deck. The tutoring effect can be treated as a bonus, since if murloc snowballs, you win, and if they don't then Scalelord isnt going to do shit. It does make Skyfin more consistent though, so there's that.

  • New Neutral Minion - K'thir Ritualist

This is one depressingly bad card. If you're going to give the opponent a curve, at least have the decency of actually having a good keyword, like Rush or Divine Shield.

  • New Paladin Spell - Snack Run

Its just a shame that this doesn't come on a stick, and that good pally spells in standard is so small that this card will almost never make it worthwhile.

The heal potential is well, unneeded, in a class that is not really ever short on healing.

  • Hearthstone Patch 19.0 - Darkmoon Faire, New Duels Powers, Progression Update, Achievements, Battle Pass

$20 for a 4-month pass seems exactly right to me. That’s $5/month, which is my threshold for a no-brainer monthly pass in a game I play a lot. It seems tuned to be more than worth it if you want the cosmetics, but the in-game additions are small enough that no one feels forced to buy it to stay competitive. Perfect

  • New Paladin Minion - Carnival Barker

Buff little minions, make them resistant to most AoE effects, and be a total pain the ass for the opponent.

Yes, please. If there was a card that flips paladin vs priest in favor of pally, then this card will be it. There's literally nothing worse than losing to a bunch of beefed up little dudes.

And to top it up, it might even get considered in wild. That's something most new cards don't ever get close to.

  • New Mage Minion - Game Master

Since I'm almost certain that secret mage is going to be a thing around tier 1-2, this card will certainly see play, if only because its basically another Kirin Tor Mage

That art though. Like I really like how its basically the same elf from Rigged Faire Game. Kinda shows how the two belong with one another eh?

  • New Mage Minion - Confection Cyclone

Elemental synergy + small elementals in hand + broken ass cards like Elemental Allies.

The card even has vanilla stats. Like is there any reason for mage to not play this card?

  • New Neutral Minion - Circus Amalgam

So, both Nightmare Amalgam and the Amalgam token say "This is an Elemental, Mech, Demon, Murloc, Dragon, Beast, Pirate and Totem." Can this card's text be considered and 'Consistently Inconsistent' for bingo purposes?

  • New Mage Minion - Firework Elemental

Its a removal card that is already powerful on its base form. If elemental mage is a thing, then this will surely be in it.

Perhaps its a little hard to imagine mage actually playing a card worth at least 6 most of the time, but as I mentioned, even at its base form its basically Fire Elemental 1 turn earlier, and that to me is good enough.
